when you do these shortcuts at the corner it says 'ghost data cannot be saved' does your time save in time trial though?

@madchanfamily Your time will be saved but because you go out of bounds your ghost data can't be saved, so you cant race against yourself. If you beat or course record though it will be saved as the top time.

@KrissKat16 havent attempted it but if I had to guess, i would say no. I'm sure these glitches are well known to Nintendo by now and probably have been removed from the wii version. Might be worth trying though if they felt that they werent worth the time to fix.

Try to jump the fence right at the part where the track starts to turn from teal to blue. That usually gets you where you want to go.

no it doesnt have to be on time trial. We did the video on time trial because it starts you out with 3 mushrooms and some of the glitches require mushroom use.

Actually, from my Point of View, I think the Rainbow Road shortcut saves a max of 32 seconds per lap...

Well, you'll notice that the video doesn't say "Max Time Saved" but rather "Approximate Time Saved" because it all depends on the driver. The times we posted are of average players doing the short cuts. Other people can do them faster, and others slower, it just depends on your skill level.

You're right, the heavyweights, Bowser, DK and Wario are the slower ones, but Toad, Peach, and Yoshi are the lightweights, and Mario and Luigi are the medium weights... and yes... the skill is important. I've been playing MK64 since 1996. =D

I'm sure I'll get slated by some for saying this, but I prefer this one to the original SNES game, and I've been playing them since the beginning in '92. Don't get me wrong, the SNES one is definitely my next favourite, I just think after this one they all went a bit crap, with the exception of the Mario Kart Super Circuit (GBA) that put all the original tracks from the SNES version in it.

I agree with you on the fact that the 64 version is the best. The courses however are much different. Some of the new Wii ones are alright but I think the 64 version courses are the coolest. As for the items: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

The Second D.K.'S Jungle Parkway Section, If I'm Right, Is The One Where You Jump Up The Angled Slope. That I Know Will Get You Past Another Racer But The Total Time Saved Is, At Best, A Second And Often Not Even That Because You Bounce Off The Wall. I Know I Use It To Gain A Spot If I Have Been Stuck Behind Somebody. So Position Wise It Helps But Not Time Wise.

Yes, we tried that one, and its actually the second DK shortcut referred to at the end of the video, but as you've stated it doesnt really save any time and there's more risk than reward involved so we didn't see the need to put it in the video.

not all of them require boosting. The Wario track glitch for instance doesnt require boosting and it saves the most time out of any of these short cuts. D.K.'S Jungle Park, the 2nd Yoshi Valley, Rainbow Road, and Frappe Snowland all can be done without boosting as well.

You should be able to do them in races with other people as well, but as you can see, some of them require you to have a mushroom, so you would need that first.

Move your control stick left and right while powersliding and it should make it go orange in colour if the corner is sharp enough.

a good boost start. this works mostly on light weights. tap the A button when the two lights come up. when the 3rd one appears, press the gas down and don't let go. if done right you should have a little boost.

you forgot the beach level i know of two shortcuts there...boost through the hole in the wall and frive through the water and the other is there will be a little strip a sand that you can drive on.

it actually goes from 18 to 19, and then to *20*, not 28. You are just seeing it wrong. Its not an 8, its a 0 with a slash through it. Thats why it goes to 21 next and not 29.

Probably it was the game pak I used to play with, because I live in Mexico and the game was purchased here, Anyway, after some years I downloaded the rom over the net because the game pak got damaged and the fence wans't there either. Bah whatever! the thing is that I've tried some of this shorcuts that I didn't know and work damn well, so thanks for posting this video.
