When they do, they do not want to usually identify themselves unless enough people demand to see some i.d. Even then some wont say who they are or what their badge number is. Looking for trouble may not be a good thing, but it could all be avoided if the police acted professionally and stayed calm, even with an arrogant citizen.

I was busted in Berkeley and I believe the officer at 6:06 "williams" was the cop who placed me in the "front seat" "handcuffed" and slapped my face several times on the way to jail.
One day I would love to take a big shit on his headstone.

I always carry a vid cam on me, that way I am always prepared in case I get stopped for no reason at all. Getting stopped for no reason at all is the norm in my area of the states.

While I dont have a problem with lousy cops being confronted, what I see in this video numerous times is the videographer & his buddies apparently badgering officers at random that don't appear to be doing anything wrong... asking what their badge numbers are & other such garbage while theyre already engaged in their duties. Normally stupid behavior like this is puzzling, but this IS Berkeley, where you have a bunch of pseudointellectuals with nothing better to do running around causing crap.

I understand that there are some bad cops out there but there are good ones too I see the point these guys are trying to make but when they have sub machine guns out that means they have a good reason pull it out so don't get in the way of that because while the cops are focusing on camera men they might not see the gunmen ready to shoot them all....i think these guys were stupid to get in the way of that situation

i agree .There are 2 kinds of cops.The ones that wanted to become cops to protect and serve the society.and the ones that wanted to be cops because they liked the idea to play the ''cops vs robbers'' game when children . The first ones are the mature - good ones. The second ones are the ones with ego and unsolved problems.They like to feel ''power'' . The second ones should be helped by psychologists or other specialist to regain balance and power in their own lifes (because they lack this).

Cops violating the law , speaking out of ignorance, should be individually taken to court and sued. You will need someone who knows real law, Jurisdictionary is a good place to start. We cannot allow this unlawful bunch of thugs to think they are above the law and behave as the criminals they are when they act outside of their jurisdiction. Their 'fake' badge (yes it is a fake). They are working for the corporation not the people even though we pay their salaries. They have NO jurisdiction.

The police should appreciate that they are being filmed. It will be useful for them if a crime takes place during the filming, as the film can be admissible as evidence

At some point the General Public will realise that the Police are representative of a Private corporation and that they are NOT public servants. The powers that be only want you to think that they are there to uphold the constitution. Police Officers are no longer Peace officers, they are fundamentally revenue collectors and operate under the same jurisdiction as the courts, which requires your consent. If more people knew this the system would have to change

Also ask for a business card. If he/she has no business card they are out of uniform and acting in a fraudulent and personal capacity.

Cops are not issues automatic weapons. The AR-15 rifles they carry are not automatic. They're semi-automatic just like many other rifles. Just because it's a black rifle doesn't make it automatic, mean, or scary.

Police Officers do not make the rules they simply enforce them (High end government douche-bags make the laws), take it this way.. When your boss tell you this is the way its done, do you argue? no you do it, because u want to keep your job. Thats why officers are allowed to issue warnings even if you did do a criminal act ex. speeding. You may think all cops are pigs (most common phrase) but some are actually regular human beings trying to change the stereo-type placed on them.

No. Police do not enforce the law. Only when there is a victim do they enforce the law. However, they enforce more codes and policies than anything. That is why speeding is not a crime even though i am sure you will not agree with me. If it were, ask yourself why i keep beating speeding tickets, almost done beating an expired registration ticket, and have beaten a misdemeanor.I will tell you why.
