Definitely: Todd Bucholz's _New Ideas From Dead Economists_ is an excellent primer which the teacher actually uses in her class. His _From Here To Economy_ is a good starter too. They're both very readable and, actually, a lot of fun.

I'd read Mankiw's book on macro economics but still failed the macroeconomics CLEP the first time I took it. Thanks to these videos and significantly more study time I was able to retake it and ace the test. Thanks.
