I am going through a Rush Revival of sorts. I had always loved 2112 (all 20 minutes of it) because the changes in mood and the tale that it told. I had't followed them as much past "Signals". The lyrics are as great if not greater than the music. If anyone claims that Eddie Van Halen is better than Alex, forgive them, They just don't get it. Rush songs could be videos for the blind.

THEY DO NOT PLAY FOR THE MONEY. there in there friggin 60's dude. if they played for the money they would have had to play 3 minute pop song's in the early 70's. remember when they told there label to piss of with 2112!, thats when they decided not to sell out for money over music.

@HappyMunsta There's a huge difference between "selling out" and making money. Rush makes money the way that they want to. If they didn't play for money they would have never be put in the "Limelight" and would just be three guys playing in a bar someplace. If they don't play for money, why isn't their concerts "free"? Pay off roadies, managers, technicians, etc...without income if they don't play for money....yeah right!

i just love how these guys are such good friends. Thats why theyve been together all these years there just great fuckin people. So many bands can learn from Rush

@pryt86 No band will ever be the same caliber as Rush. They are the best of friends and after the tragedy Peart went through, most thought they were done for good. Unlike Queen, I guarantee you they will retire first or one will die and that WILL be it forever.

@DickLodge68 yea i know no band can be the same calibur. But other bands can learn from rush and how there such good people and how its all about the music and not the money. Yea i agree i think theyll retire when they feel they cant play the songs the way they are on the albums. When they get to slow theyll retire. But i dont see that happening for another five years or so. They played so good when i saw them on the time machine tour i was absoultly amazed

@pryt86 First up I've seen Rush at least ten times over the years and every time they put on the best show of any band. Not about the money? What are you talking about? This is their livelihood..their job. That is why they are professionals and don't get all smashed on drugs and alcohol. Are you serious? It's not about money? What planet are you from?

@lifeson241 Well, they are old enough and smart enough to realize this isn't some party, or a game, it's their livelihood. Due to that, they put on a great live show...unlike some bands that just party all the time and give a lack-luster performance. That is the difference between professionals and just wanna-be's. Rush put's on a good show, every time!

@AnthroWoman The thing I really love about Rush, aside from their music, is that they really and truly are friends. When Neil lost his wife and children, they weren't sure he would return, and they weren't sure if that was going to be the end of Rush or not. Many other bands would have just replaced him. They feel he is unreplaceable, as a musician, friend ,and bandmember.
