Actually, if you are very careful and use a split cage introduction, you can introduce two stranger gerbils. (It's dangerous if you do it wrong or are hasty, but it can be done.) This is a good idea if the still-living gerbil isn't old (say, 4 years old, and about ready to croak), because just keeping one all alone for the next two or three years is mean and is psychologically detrimental to gerbils, who need a gerbil pal to be happy.
I have 2 gerbils Snowball and Vinegar What happened was tht i had 2 other gerbils salt and pepper then pepper died from getting a tumour and salty was left. So got a new one (vinegar) and i got them to get on with each other so salty had a "pal" again.

All they do is fight ive had thm both in a box and separted with a fence 2 get used 2 each other 2 wks i done this thn thy met each other nd thy fight.

You're soo wrong! Weels are not for gerbils, they can get serious injures, did you ever notise that they have a kind of long tail?? They aren't built for using weels, their backs suffer if they do, because of the long tail (and it isn't just the back that will suffer) gerbils just aren't made for using weels! ask your gerbils...they won't. if you ever had taken a look at a book about gerbils you would have read that the height of the litter has to be at least 25 cm! the wheel is much too small, too. This is such a pity!!!
I had 2 female gerbils. then I bought 2 male gerbils. then one of the female gerbils had two litters of seven and killed the other female.I kept two of the fourteen babies and gave the rest away, so then I had five, two females and three males kept. this time I kept the males and females seperate but then one of the males, my little sisters favorite, died and the other two males ate him so we have the other two males away because my sister was scared of them, so nowi have two females.
Yeah i bred loads of gerbils by accident and they all started eating and fighting with each other but i separated them to stop the fighting but one of my rats escaped and got in the cages and killed all of my gerbils by biting them in the throat!!
you could have sold the babies and made some cash id have done that im thinking in breeding them iv just lost my Gerbil he died so im getting a pair now

If one gerbil dies and youve had two gerbils for a long amount of time you cant introduce two gerbils together again..If that makes sense..

Wheels in general are not bad, people. Wheels with slats can be harmful because the tails can fall between the bars, and be hurt.
They male wheels with mesh (like mine), and solid wheels, which are perfectly fine.
Gerbils require exercise like all other animals. The wheels provide this.

Black gerbil named Dove (xD), Amigo (siamese), Hottentotti (argente cream collared), Tito (argente cream collared), Mario (Argente), Ninni (Siamese) and Viivi (Black pied)
