Boxers seem to have a "heavy ass". Mine will go only as far as he can keep his hind legs touching the ground. We got a life vest for him, he seems to like it. But even with that he's definitely not a water dog. He's great in so many other ways though.
THATS REAL REAL odd i had a 100% pure bread boxer and its terrified of water i mean its scared of the bathroom the original owner said its all muscle and know fat thats why they can swim or float they'll sink
how sweet - I love how gentle you are with him, and how you really loved each other. You can see that by your hug and tenderness. I may be biased but I think Boxer owners and their dogs have a very strong bond! This video shows it! Lovely.

It's geat to see another boxer (my Moose is 110 pounds) stand and walk around in the pool. He drinks out of water fountains like a human being, too.

My Jack Russell did swim, but if i was in water too it used to claw my chest to shreds while trying to climb on top of me :)
