i did many configurations what i can tell you i could not bread the barrier of 6.4/6 mmw .
yesterday i did my test on a gap of 1/32 and 6 cells divided by 2 and completely electrically separated and guess what still in the 6. range i have 2 amp meters .one thing i am waiting for my KOH .i was using Naoh i hope i kan find a difference .keep on the good work
If that's the case ..I need to switch ..If I could get 10 more percent efficiency that would put my cell up to about 6.6 - 7.4 mmw ...my cell normally runs between 6 - 6.68 mmw ....
Now that is a very nice looking setup. Great fabricating skills my friend.

very nice!
i like the copper gasket idea

i think the idea is great to i just wish i could take credit for it.
i tried this once before it worked very well but it was hard to keep the copper dry. this time around i hope to perfect ironhead's technology

Thanks Bro . The Cell looks great ! Best of luck to you .

Nice looking cell man ......If I may give you a few tips on just having a top hole only ...
You will find that with 72 plates that the cell will be more efficient if you split it into to 36 plate stacks ..
I did the whole stack and it has problems getting the electrolyte evenly between the plates , that why i split mine....
One other thing that I have noticed with a top hole only is that a good 1 - 3 psi of back pressure is your friend, (cont)

It will force the electrolyte in between the plates and thus raising the cells efficiency .....
This has been the case with my experience any way ....
I have built both types of cells and the top hole only is the best in my book.....
I Look forward to your seeing your cell run ...

thanx jd
origiinally i did plan on one 72 plate stack, but i have arrived at 36 plate stacks instead.
in my old cell i had to circulate my elyte to keep it cool, with only one hole in the top. what is your experience?

On my smaller cells when driving them hard they would heat up rather hot ,but not hot enough to damage my gaskets....
Now on my big cell 72 plate one , I have run it for a solid 5 hrs at around 142 volts 9 - 10 amps with no heat problems...
The hardest i have run that cell is about 15 - 17 amps it got pretty warm but not warm enough to do damage ....
Over all I have no major heat issues with my big cell ....I'm confident that i could run it a solid 10 hrs at 10 amps , wouldn't have to worry..

Cool, no more current leakage!!
Love it!!

with no equalization hole in the bottom of the cell i will eliminate some of the current leakage, but i will still have some in the top holes. thanx

Can't wait to see it running...
Lol!!

you should get a little more out of it with koh.
im going to pay special attention to conections. i hope this will keep the heat down and raise eff.
good luck

Does using KOH really help that much ?
The only thing I have ever used is Naoh ..
jdcmusicman 2 years ago
i have used both and found koh to be more productive and eff. mabe 10% more
