It's one thing to be influenced or inspired by a band (like Rancid), but duplicating their sound almost exactly is kind of bullshit. I know a lot of punk sounds the same but what makes certain bands stand out among the rest is their originality. I mean that's the whole point of starting a band right? What's the point in sounding exactly like someone else? If I want Rancid, I'll listen to Rancid.
