I personally sing vocal jazz at hutchinson community college in one of the best vocal jazz programs in the nation and i can say this is trully amazing know how many hours of work these guys did to get at this level of skill.
Love the ":extras" that they've added to the song, and, just love the song in general! With the extras that they added, I wonder if that was to combat the claim that they were lipsynching? I had heard that this was an accusation that was made regarding them when Take 6 was still a young group. Well, if that was the case, a performance like this would go a long way to shredding that claim. Still, this song is one of my faves from them:)

I do. It is very true. I have been following this group my whole life and have seen them live back in the early 90s as well as within teh past couple years. They definately had a better blend and balance back in the day. STILL, as you mentioned, they are the baddest group out there. But the "blend" can hinder due to the quality of the mix...

Also, the sound changed ALOT because of the record label etc.. Now they own thier own record label and we should hear more technique again. I mean they were back then light years ahead of singing groups today. No one has came close to it yet.

Take 6 is arguably the GREATEST VOCAL group of our time. Harmonically, they are UNTOUCHABLE and their complex arrangements don't compare to anything that has ever been heard off! They're an interesting blend of Gospel, Jazz, R&B, Blues. Its amazing to say the least!

They are above and beyond Boyz II Men and I'm pretty sure they would tell you that. These guys have an incredible harmonic influence of some of the great jazz arrangers from Duke Ellington to George Gershwin... they're all incredibly well educated in music and are flawless everytime I've ever heard them.
Absolutely!!!! I as a musician am going to do my best to make sure no one forgets that they are just superior to all those groups out there. Boys to Men, NSync, 98 degrees cannot TOUCH THEM!

Man, their sound is superb and their harmonies are so lush. This is a beautiful song. And, this was in the late 80's, early 90's. They were at the height of fashion at that time. Still, this was lovely.
Vintage Take 6!!! Singing that kind of tight jazz harmony is maddeningly impossible, and they do it with a mind-blowing ease. What a shame about the sound fluctuating though....dang.

The "artists" today can learn soooo much from these guys. These guys are musicians, and the only instrument is their voices.
