That is hilarious and I got to go have one tomorrow!! I heard this song and it won't so bad now as this is my 3rd one and I have to have them every year and I am in my early 40's.
You should post the video to ccacpsa.com by the end of the month. Their holding a contest to win $1500 per category if you post a video promoting the screening and prevention of colon cancer. It's being run by the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada. You may as well since the video is already made.
Had my very first colonoscopy this morning. Dr. Raymond is as delightful and funny in person as she was on this video, and she put me totally at ease. Glad I was referred to her!!
omg that is hilarious...i am going for my colonoscopy soon...have to go see the surgeon to schedule me in...but now with that song in my head it may be a bit more tolerable...
Wowza, this is spreading like wildfire! Kudos from the Colorectal Cancer Association of Canada. Any chance you'd like to submit a shortened version of the video to our International Public Service Announcement Contest?
Thanks for the laugh! We're going to share this on our Twitter account (@coloncanada)
Maybe people don't think it's ok to talk about, but I would emphasize the good drugs they give you. I felt like, "Hey, let's do this again sometime, this is FUN!" I mean, you float off to sleep and wake up with somebody telling you you can leave as soon as you feel steady enough.
The worst part of it all is not having breakfast and coffee the morning of, and your gut is EMPTY. Really, that's the worst of it, so it's really not that bad. (And schedule for as early in the morning as you can)

My father died from colon cancer at age 48 and I get my checkups every 5 - 7 years. Not everyone wants to be educated about their "back door," and when the videos can set the topic to music and lighthearted cartoons it makes it interesting. Rita
"Where is the LOVE button? This is awesome and such a catchy little tune. The KIND that gets stuck in your head all day. lol. Thanks for the laugh about a very important matter. I am a Stage IIIC colon cancer survivor of 4 years! Thank you for such a great page! Love and hugs to ALL. <3" Janet
OMG Pat, I just about wet my pants laughing! You make me WANT to turn 50 and get mine! (4 more years!) And yes, I forwarded it! Kelly
EXPLANATION: I sent the link to my momma (even crazy gastro docs have mommas) and she forwarded the link to her circle of net savvy friends. They responded with all these amazing comments! Pat Raymond MD
I had a colonoscopy a week ago this past Friday, and go back this coming Friday for a follow up appt. There were no polyps or tumors; thank God. I keep a faithful watch (my paternal grandfather died from colon cancer). Bud has an appt. for his annual physical on Wed., and will schedule a colonoscopy at that time. The video is cute as can be (and educational). I certainly will "pass it on"! Beth
That was hilarious!! I just had mine done last month. Jeanie
I enjoyed your daughter's colon concert. As a survivor of colon cancer, I am constantly urging others to get their colonoscopy on a regular basis. Suzanne
Very effective video.
As I am [watching the video], I am drinking the stuff for my colonoscopy procedure tomorrow AM. Fun fun, but important. Marty O.
What an adorable way to remind us of our needed colonoscopies. Sure wish it could inspire my son to have one but so far all my ‘prodding’ has been to no avail. I am not due until next spring so will live with no fear until that time. Helen
No question, the test is important. We, too, shall forward. As soon as I read that Pat did this I knew it was going to be an attention getting crazy video. And it is!!! Thanks for sharing.
whomever had the audacity to name it "GoLytely" must REALLY be a student of the facetious (or rather, make that a student of the FECESious!). i hope they name the generic version of it "Go Heavily and Often".
This is Very Cute ~ Enjoy ~ 24/7
