Marines even found a Russian Mig that had been towed up a mountain... God knows how... And stashed in a bunker. If its loaded right, all you have to do is pull the trigger until all 100rds from the can are empty,then pop the cover, place the rd and link on the link holder, close the cover, register the changing handle to the rear and let her rip.Its a bad thing when your weapon jams or becomes disfunctional in the middle of a firefight

Plus, the war is far less destructive for civilians in Afghanistan than it was in Iraq. @fizzlejibbs Strongly misinformed. They have giant stashes of ammunition ranging from small arms to large artillery rounds, much of it left over from when Russia invaded. Marines even found a Russian Mig that had been towed up a mountain... God knows how... And stashed in a bunker. They have plenty of ammunition, they're just (for the most part) not skilled in using weapons. But they're not to be underestimated. All they know in life is war.

I'm not saying the Afghans don't have ammo. Obviously they do. But they didn't make it themselves where as US can make all they want. If the Afghans are unable to make their own then they would some day run out. No stash can last forever without putting back into it. Specially since US finds the stashes and blows them up.
