  • with race fuel and this will get 15 with pump gas! yay!

  • that truck is going into our 7200 class off road race truck :) 15 mpg with pump gas and 370 horesepower plus insane durability, duh! the kroyer built 4.5 may have almost 500 horses but the damn things are grenades with the pin pulled and they blow out every like 400 miles and when your driving well over 1000 miles each season and dont have the 40 thousand dollars for each motor, needing about 3 motors each year, go with ecoboost! thank you so much ford! not to mention the kroyer only gets 2 mpg

  • I like the idea of EcoBoost, but I'll stick with my V8 thank you :)

  • I dunno. It sounds to me like a built in turbo type charger inside the motor. To me, that means more wear and tear and less durable over the long run. I can just imagine, 7 years from now, people saying 'damn motor needs to be rebuilt' Only time will tell if I am right or wrong.

  • All Ecoboost engine with over 1,000L/100km

  • i have driven an ecoboost powered ford vehicle and for the size of the motor it has a whole lot of balls very fast

  • Out of all engines, v6's produce the most power per cylinder and per displacement. V8's have the sound, I4's have the mpg.

  • My carbed 400hp small block truck gets like 2-3MPG less then ecoboost. Big deal, lol.

  • @bmays002 So your 400 hp small block gets 20 mpg?

    In your dreams.

  • @MicroOrginisum

I think the ecoboost f150s are getting about 20 on the highway. I get 17mpg if i take it easy, then again I'm 2wd 5speed and 500lb or so lbs lighters then the new gen trucks.

Ecoboost should get more, they definitely crippled it somewhere somehow. Likely on this new design they set the ECU very conservative so they did not get bad publicity from the new motors grenading, combined with government bullshit restrictive cats.

  • @MicroOrginisum i get the occasional 22 mpg at 60 in my 5.7 ram

  • @bmays002 oh yea, my carbed chevy 512 gets 1-2MPG less than ecoboost......

  • Ford EcoBoost is better than CNG NGV LPG.

  • I love my eco boost f-150 awesome truck,

  • ecoboost? Looks like a basic turbocharged EFI engine to me. These things been around since the 90's.

  • wo0w soooooo innovative...NOT my 1990 eagle talon is the same setup. way to be with the times ford. but at least 1 american company is smart enough to stop bullshitting its customers into believing you need a v8 to make power. turbo is and always will be better. power when. 1990 talon motors are turbo charged closed deck, cast iron blocks with semi forged internals. piston cooling jets(oil squirters). variable valve timing. intercooled. dohc engines. in 1990 lol ford boasts like they invented.

  • PLEASE SOMEONE answer my question: Is ford making a ecoboost for the Mustang? like a 2.5 or 2.3cc???????

  • @NZ097 Why would they make a 4-cylinder mustang?

  • @MeWoahits

Because with proper engineering, it can be great on fuel consumption at low throttle but still boast a lot of power.

  • @phattacorider But mustangs are "muscle" or "sports" cars, when you buy those you should know that you're not going to get good mpg on it. V8's can still make more power in a sports car then this. I think its great for SUV's or trucks that need more torque or just are trying to save fuel. I just don't see the point of getting a "green" mustang.

  • @MeWoahits

Well, the point of any Mustang is to have a car that's quick, responsive, and overall fun to drive. Any motor with plenty of power can do this. The only difference will be the sound, which is an opinion of importance of each individual. Personally, I will never buy a sports car that sounds like shit. And you gotta consider, today's rendition of older muscle cars aren't even muscle cars anymore, so their direction is pretty much infinite.

  • @MeWoahits

In addition to my comment, I wouldn't mind owning a 4 banger turbo ecoboost motor if it could push 13s quarter mile times and sound like an STI.

  • @NZ097 I believe they are going to make an ecoboost mustang as well, wont be out till end of next year if they do

  • How to rejuice?

  • Less co2, less fuel consumption...and less kilometers for engine death...

  • I need to see the Japanese version....

  • They basically made this for EUROPEAN market, because America doesn't do business with it's own people. How long you figure it will be before America becomes a 3rd world country !?

  • Nice animation but it's not what the ford ecoboost looks like now. The turbos are no longer in the same place either. Also this animationhows 4 cylinders in-line the current ecoboost is a V6 so there should be 3 visible pistons side in the animation.

They used the 5 litre 8 cylinder engine in this animation.

  • What a nice animation and good way of portraying this fine Ford innovative product

    Bravo Ford

  • is this a turbo, a compressor or a supercharger??? i dont understand

  • @rickrossthebosz twin turbochargers.

  • @rickrossthebosz Turbocharger

  • isso é pra quem sabe!!!!

  • i like it. lets see an ecoboost v8

  • @alotandstuff it's already like one hahahaha its fast for a v6

  • cant wait for the 5.0 liter eco boost mustang!

  • @bigredchevy1987 5 Litre and "eco" should never be used in the same sentence xD

  • @bigredchevy1987 2015 (50th anniversary) Mustang GT with 5.0L producing 500 hp @ 7400 rpm and 550 lb/ft @ 1000-7400rpm.... that would be amazing!

  • I can't ride in a car with only an engine, wheels and pipe!

  • Can someone give me some examples of what all the Ecoboost does for the environment? Im writing a speech about it so...

    Thanks!

  • So it's basically a Variable Valve Timing setup like with Toyota but with a low PSI turbo from a VW diesel.

  • @Donnison27 everyone uses VVT now, and it's twin turbo, but that's just the basics, there is a ton of tech in that engine.

  • @Donnison27 Ya but there's different methods of VVT like MIVEC and VTEC. Same basic effect just different setup. But for the turbos are the different sizes like the BMW diesels so that there is always peek power or just 2 small turbos? My friend has a V6 ecobost in his F150 and it is incredible.

  • Downsizing really IS the near FUTURE :)!!!!!

    It'll be hybrids VS turbos/turbo-diesels...!!!

  • @ale03000 Turbo Diesels will win.

  • @JAROSLAVAGINA In Europe yes and they already did :].

  • @ale03000 You might see only 500cc displacements in the future.

  • is it a wall guided mixture process?

  • lol they are going like 200 mph in the animation

  • ONLY 20% ... what a joke

  • I like the new ford bodys u can say u cant see it

  • how love how Ford glorifies the EcoBoost, when it is simply just a turbo charged engine haha

  • @cb7pwn well yes and its multi port injection and dohc and twice as many valves too

  • @cb7pwn nobody else figured it out

  • I don't like it! I love VW

  • @toteu24

VW is garbage. Go kill yourself.

  • @sonyhotdogs yes, yes they are garbage :D, glad there are some intelligent people online

  • At least Ford is waking up to the realities that have been obvious in the EU for decades. Look at Europe, learn from their history and apply it here.

If GM wants to continue using large N/A engines, so be it, this isn't something Ford will need to push onto consumers, they're already 'demanding' it.

  • I want my car to look just like those!

  • The car engine is still pretty crap really. It's nice to see it improve but christ there has to be something better by now.

  • basically, its like a turbo diesel but a turbo gasoline engine. im going to get an XL model reg. cab.

  • what the hell did he call aluminum?!!!! ALLUUMINEM?

  • so do you need to run premium or can you run regular

  • Ah, you people just can't appreciate when a company produces a reasonably priced product, with stock performance, just because It isn't "your brand". And fellas, Ford and Mazda have been a 50/50 partnership for like a decade, therein being the same company. no the tech isn't ground breaking, however its assembled reliably at a factory and warranted, unlike aftermarket headaches.

  • make an ecoboost v8.

thirst of a v8 with the thrust of a 747.

  • Aluminium?

    That's Aluminum!

  • I don't get it. Ford tries to make it sound like they have found something new when in reality it is:

    1) direct injection (many cars have this today)

    2) turbo (duh)

    3) aluminum (less weight)

    4) variable intake/exh. valve timing (again, many cars have this)

    so in summary,

suck in fuel economy for a few years, then come up to standard with the rest of the world and call yourself innovative with names like EcoBoost.... should call it AboutTime better

  • @testradav True! Not to mention, the EcoBoost 4 cylinders are all just Mazda DISI engines. 2.0L is a Mazda LF engine with the DISI turbo, EcoBoost 1.6L is a Mazda Z engine with the same outfit. Ford barely does any of the legwork these days, instead just pouring money into marketing to make people think they have something so unique and special.

  • @veltpak6 oh yeah Ford doesn't make engines. It doesn't make the 6.7L diesel in the SuperDuty (unlike Ram with Cummins), it doesn't make the 4.4L V8 diesel for Range Rover, and the 3.0L V6 diesel for Land Rover and Jag. It didn't produce or develop any Duratec and Duratorq engines, that was 100% all Mazda (which Ford didn't invest any money in at all). I think you are completely spot on with your post. Well researched, and most of all.... well done! :)

  • @MrChevypower It's a 50/50, but I'm gonna guess you're being sarcastic?

  • @jeepman787 :)

  • @MrChevypower Who the fuck said ford didnt make engines? I'll tell you what Ford makes a lot of, bullshit names for old technology that everyone else already had. Guess who had a DOHC 60degree all aluminum V6 before Ford? Mazda. Guess who did their own 4 years later? Yuh. Guess what 4cyl engines the Focus, Fiesta and Fusion have? 100% Mazda designed engines cast in Mexico, rebranded as Duratec. Yuh. Design is *all Japanese*, that doesnt mean Ford didnt acquire rights to use it through its $take

  • @veltpak6 Guess who needed a Government Bailout to keep from being liquidated and sold for scrap. General Motors is 2/5s the size it was 10 years ago.

Yeah, Ford didn't do it first, but they did do it better.

  • @1vdn992 ford never asked for any money....better check your facts dude.

  • @MrChevypower All Ford Diesels are in house now, and superior to the diesels they replaced.

  • @testradav Actually they call themselves innovative because they're one of the few who recognize all these needs as "stock sport performance", And not sticking some stupid supercharger in it and raising the price.

  • @testradav Listen To it again.. They didnt say aluminum... You need to get your facts straight.... DUMBASS!!!! AT LEAST FORD MOTER COMPANY DOESNT HAVE TO PLAY NIGGER AND AND GET A BAIL OUT.... STEAL MY HARD EARNED MONEY... GM,, DODGE,,, GO BUY A FUCKN HONDA... FAGGOT!!!!!

  • @motzy77 Idiot, they call it "aluminium" in the UK, and it's the same thing in French.

  • @motzy77 Holy crap nice spelling!

  • so what happens if you make it big?? more power??

  • I can see there is a big debate over how the Ecoboost name is a cleaver marketing ploy from Ford. And it is. But that's beside my point. My thing is I would love to see a new generation of Ranger pickups that have a 2.0L I4 Ecoboost and 3.5L V6 Ecoboost. Because let's face the current 2.5L I4 and 4.0L V6 are good engine's. But archaic in design. These new engine's would work wonderfully with a small compact pickup. They would put Ford back in the game to compete in the small truck market.

  • The new engine's being more up to par in not only power and torque numbers but also in NVHS, and fuel economy. I mean with a good 6-speed auto or manual connected to a 3.5L 280hp V6 in a 3500lb compact Ranger, I would imagine you could achieve MPG close to what the current 2.5L 140hp I4 Make's. And have virtually double the amount of power on tap. Yes I would really like to see something like this happen in the future.

  • Ford's in the business of selling cars. You can put eco on anything. It helps it sell. To the people. To the government. Anyways, the 3.5L EB is producing 365hp at 1,500 rpm to 7,000 rpm while the Hyundai gets 375hp only after reaching 6,500 rpm. They both start at the same price.

Sort of like vtec--it's a stupid but ingenious way for Honda to sell its cars with a cheaper dual cam switching VVT than have a real VVT/CVVT. Marketing. Get over it.

  • Ecoboost is designed for mass production. Everyone has a turbo'ed direct injection engine but Ford wants to make that the standard for engines. That's what Ford is doing.

  • tsi is already standard for vw, there's only a few normally aspirated engines left( 1.4 for polo, 2 L, a v6 and a v8) but not for long...

VW is allready ahead, Ford is just starting now...

  • VW isn't a high volume manufacture in the US right now, Ford is. VW are somewhat expensive right now, Ford's aren't. Granted, VW is going to get rid of the Jetta in the US and make a lower cost replacement since VW want's to be a big player in the US.

  • well, what can I say... Things are a bit different in europe...

  • I wish everyone listened to you. Ford isn't the first to do this but they are the first to make it a base engine in the US market and thats the innovation. Its a technology that just makes sense for everyday use.

  • very nice animation:)

  • Ecoboost. Interesting name, seems to be a good engine. Hopefully they'll make 'em reliable.

  • @GIUGIK1 oh they are, trust me

  • @GIUGIK1 You should look up the F150 Ecoboost Torture test, they put it through hell and it took it very well, something like over 150k miles under great strain and still was putting out great power and ran great.
