Michael Moore is wrong about insurance companies making huge profits, because of the bill, their going to lose a lots of money and go out business. Most people will take the government option and some people will leave their private plan, now that insurance companies have to take people with pre existing conditions it will cost them so much that the private companies will go out of business and the ONLY OPTION WILL BE THE GOVERNMENT OPTION.
Moore won't be happy untill America is subject to the around 100 years of communism that russia was subjected to. Go to w w w . D a v e R a m s e y . c o m to get the truth on how things really need to be in America.
So basically, dickwad Moore told everone in congress to support a bill that is unconstituional and will not change a damn thing 'cept will FORCE 30MM people who couldn't afford insurance to now have to get it or be fined $695 per year if they don't!!!! Way to go Moore you fuckin' jackass!
When Health Care is enforce and everyone has Health Insurance and because of so many receiving it there will not be enough Medical Doctors to handle the amount of people, lines will out the door at Doctors offices, and emergency rooms will be full and don't mention surgery.
You have to make it to the end of the vid to get to Moore's rationale. If you still think he's an idiot, you are hopeless. People love to beat up on Moore because the one's who own this country make it fashionable. What does that say to you ignorant pukes?
There are all these progressive liberals saying people are anti-american. Well Michael Moore is the most Un-American dim wit that I have ever heard and he is a progressive liberal.
If a new research comes a long and shows that vitamins can save lives and extend life (not saying it doesn't), imagine if the government forces you to start buying that product. Same shit here.
Yeah, business shouldn't profit! I'm pretty sure a P.H.d is free too. The doctors probably shouldn't get paid too much either, that wouldn't be fair. Nothing bothers me more than when people are rewarded for hard work and innovation.
"hey if i'm okay, then heck it's good enough for everybody else" no shit, fuck anyone who doesn't like Michael Moore. they all don't like him just because he's super bias, and for some fucked up reason i agree with everything he's saying even when i'm looking at him, and he's kinda hard to look at. (unlike fox news's bimbo anchors who all look like they were models before they got the anchor gig i guess it makes it easier to swallow the ass load of bullshit they put out while looking at pussy)
Thank God 4 health care. a nd yes the intelligent american who wants abetter country will definetly vote for Obama and the est of the democratic party. Amen, the way god intended for man to be
What do you mean he killed his chances. This is what Obama campaigned on! How did he get elected president, Americans knew he wanted health care reform before he won the election.
he killed his chances because 65% of americans are against this bill, alot of people are pissed off...they wanted universal health care, not fines and possible jail time if they dont get insurance and the IRS given access to their bank accounts if they dont pay the fine...even Moore knows its bullshit...this is just the govt adding more tax and more control over people's lives to control the population. it's all illuminati anyway and they control the dems and repubs, so it doesnt matter
@OneLife1Voice you'll go to jail eventually if you cant pay the fine, which most people and their stack of bills will atest to...i dont want health insurance to be mandatory, 65% of americans agree with me
@OneLife1Voice not to mention the IRS now has the power to be an enforcement group and will be able to get into your bank account if you have one and take the money by force...fascism here we come
I like Conan O'brien's comment......"The new Obama menu at McDonalds......order all the food you want and the guy in line behind you has to pay for it!" That's what America has come to.
Some of us don't want every facet of our lives controlled by government bureaucrats. The will suck up all our tax dollars until all we have left is lunch money. Luckily most of us will be eating lotus flowers and won't give a crap.
I agree with everything Michael Moore is saying. I'm not sure how or why, but the Democrats cow-towed to the Republicans too much this time around. We need a public option. And those who want to pay out of pocket for a health insurance that can deny coverage can. If those health insurance companies find themselves tottering toward bankruptcies, THEY ought to buck up and compete. Compete with something guaranteed so that sick people can get treatment they need, period.
The guy's a fucking dolt. He browbeats insurance companies for denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions. He asks "How inhumane can you be?" Well, fine sentiments are no substitute for economic reality. It's not reasonable to expect an insurance company not to deny based on pre-existing conditions. Any insurance company following that business model would quickly go bankrupt. If everyone followed suit, NOBODY would be insured in short order. Insurance insures against risk, not certainty.
@ilikejuicealot ... Obviously a business has to protect its own best interests, but a society can decide together what operations should be best run for profit, and which should be run for the common good from taxes. I would argue that protecting life through health care is no different than protecting life from fire or criminals, and so I would make the health care industry beholden to the common good. It seems foreign to me to to ask a person for money before I would help save their life.
"It's not reasonable to expect an insurance company not to deny based on pre-existing conditions.'
Now that it's the law it is. The problems with health care being an unregulated market are that companies don't care about whether you (or your kids) live or die, and that most people aren't doctors and actuaries rolled into one so they don't know enough to say what's good enough.
Now, about that being a losing business model - how does the rest of the world do better FOR A LOT LESS? They do.
Thank you Michael for still telling the truth. I hate how members of the church of Obama keep trying to convince me this was what America finally needed in terms of healthcare. It has some good things, and at the same time, it forces everyone to become customers of the insurance companies.
Church of Obama, that's a good one. I knida know how you feel though because that Bushit Admin. sure sucked the big one. That premptive strike against Iraq to save America from Saddam weapons of mass distruction. I still have not gotten over that one. GO TO WAR ON MISS INFORMATION!! While Bushit rich buddies just got richer.
The public option is not dead. There is another 12 pg bill being pushed right now that included a public option per se. It just opens up Medicare to anyone who wants to buy into it.
For once I can agree with Moore. In my opinion, if this new health care bill is so great, why doesn't congress drop their pre-existing plan and subscribe to the one we're all forced to?
@LadyRedTailedHawk I think congress actually may end up in the new plan. It was a 2700 page bill that no one read. The only one's who were exempt were the Obama, and the lawmakers who wrote the bill, and their staffers. That is at least my understanding. But that being said, congress may lost their existing plans, and wouldn't it be poetic?
@jerrod24 GREAT FUCKING question, answer is irrelevant. GOP works for health care companies, their puppets n selfish. Thats what problem is, good questions though stuiped as people posting on here like healthcare reform is problem. insurance companies are in the wrong.
but the biggest concern is the suppliers and expenditures. that is the true beast that Government needs to tackle.
U.S. physician will ask a patient to pay an average of $9500 for kidney bi-pass surgery (on a low quality specialist)
My dad and me are U.S. citizen but he did a kidney surgery in S.Korea and it costed lower than $2100.
Expenditures/Suppliers needs to be controlled. That is what is really missing. Unfortunately AMA restricts that
