  • He wouldn't have wasted his time on that show. His IQ is higher than those of all the hostesses combined.

  • Friedman's ideas were never proven. Economics is not a science. Every time his theories have been put into practice, they have failed.

  • @nzau2010 Economics is part of social science and related to our unalienable Rights which are part of the Laws of Nature. When revisiting these Rights from the vantage point of science, it becomes clear the interrelationship these Rights have on economics (see my channel video). Many understand the Laws of Nature trumps mortals in power; a new understanding of these Rights may help make this world a better place to live.

  • Austrian economics FTW!!

  • True capitalism and TRUE free enterprise will work much better than ANYTHING else known. Friedman is certainly correct about that.

The trouble is that people confuse crony capitalism and false "free enterprise" with the real thing.

What we have today is a big government in bed with big banking, big corporations, and big labor. It's a cocktail that is deadly to a free society.

  • @conspiracy777 EXCELLENT points my friend. But, you do understand why that is don't you? The only way to make the changes that the leftists want is to actually go into the free market and manipulate it. Such as what you are saying, like Fannie and Freddie, Goldman Sachs, corporate bailouts etc.... (creating crony capitalism) THEN. And this is the genious of the Obama, Clinton, Franks, Dodds etc... They BLAME it on the free market and call it a failure. That is why my friend.

  • @SuperGuitarman69

Yes! Thank you. That is exactly what they do. Basically they can not start a socialist/marxist system without riding on the back of a post capitalistic system. They have to manipulate to get there. They play a game of musical chairs and which ever ruling class happens to have a seat when the music stops wins. Everyone else loses and becomes their serf.

  • @conspiracy777 If more people understood Milton Friedman, or even knew who he was to be able to google or find him on youtube? You might have a lot of formal independants waking up to truth. Then running away from the Democratic party. Keeping them around 1/5 of the voices in our country. Basically irrelevant.

  • Why the hell does Joy Behar have a show??!! I could listen to my parrot screech for an hour and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference

  • @shatwood Truer words have never been spoken.

  • Conservatism is a fraud.

  • @amazingyou1uber Good thing Friedman is a libertarian.

  • I'd love to see Behar spend ten minutes with him.

  • Friedman is as sick as you are.

  • §ØÇ ÂÇ©øµΩ†

  • ßøç˚ åççø¨˜†

  • Joy... Joy...Joy...You're such a annoying dunce. Men have been sent to early graves after marrying obnoxious, loud mouth women, like her. Fellas don't ruin your life. Let her take half and get the hell out of there. It's worth every penny.

  • The best way to keep the kind of bad legislation generated by those who claim to trade for the public good would be to ban women from voting.

Keep the violin away from the rostrum.

  • Lee Doren didn't pwn anybody on The View, and Friedman was never on The View. 'Nuff said.☺

  • free enterprise, trickle down economics, it works....if you're rich.

  • @brackster Trickle up poverty works too... If you're already rich and want to keep everyone else down and dependant. It's kind of stealing too.

  • @cozyfoxstudio that's what capitalism is at its worst. the idea that there's not a class system in the US is complete rubbish.

  • @brackster Maybe at it's worst when it's anchored down by greedy and inept government freeloaders. Either way there is always a class system. You are accusing the millionaires of being greedy because the billionaires told you to. How does attacking your boss help you? Capitalism allows people the opportunity of lifting themselves up. In Socialism the upper class kids get all the good jobs. Your kid will be equal to drug addicts. They may let him join the military though.

  • @cozyfoxstudio So the government is to blame for the economy? They didn't do anything to help create jobs with past decade, I will give you that. You seem to suggest that I would chose socialism to capitalism. The fact is, our society is a mixture of both, and one that can work well if we get past the stupid idea that tax cuts will create jobs. We tried that this past decade, and it didn't work. If there was no government, the haves would have everything, not just most everything.

  • @brackster Of course the Government is to blame. They're the ones growing off of our opportunities. Collecting taxes and fees and fines to support their addiction to buying votes with scam ideas and hand outs. Scams like Social security and Fannie and Freddie. Total failures that screwed the economy/everyone. Created and run into the ground by Liberal Demorats that say tax cuts are stupid. They worked for Reagan and JFK just fine. Maybe that's why they were both shot?

  • @cozyfoxstudio What screwed the economy were the Bush tax cuts. Some of the wealthy decided to piss away that money and almost destroyed the whole economy. The lack of government oversight is why we have stupid things like bubbles and recessions. We also don't make anything tangible anymore. But let's blame the Big Bad Government. I will blame most Republicans, who care about fiscal responsibility, unless they're the ones being irresponsible. Then it's necessary *roll eyes*.

  • @brackster Okay psycho. The interference of government oversight is what creates bubbles. That's what Fannie/Freddie made happen. Their policies FORCED banks to make risky loans. "to help the poor". Then people were suckered into accepting these loans. The price of housing bubbled due to altered demand. The "poor" didn't pay their bills. The rates went up. The value came down. And everybody else got fucked hard. The market is just correcting itself. * shaking my head with a sigh*

  • Mr. Doren, look, Friedman was never on The View. You cannot juxtapose Friedman's videos with current videos of shows and say that Friedman was on those shows. It is intellectually dishonest to do so. Stop doing it. ☺

  • hey, it's funny. He was simply owning members of The View with a nice dose of Milton Friedman

  • @ipwnallnubscuzirock . Yes, amusing..I agree, however, the juxtaposition isn't the problem, the mislabeling of the video is the point. We affect youtube's ability to bring up accurate search results for us... peace

  • @MindfulFuture There is no problem, lol.

  • Do a search on Youtube for Walter Williams' Good Intentions documentary.

Fiscal conservatives/Libertarians do not hate the poor or love the rich necessarily. These kind of policies are rarely given a chance to come to fruition but this is the kind of thing we need Obama doing. Sadly, I don't think he will. He'll likely repeat the misguided and failed 1970s policies targeted at poverty. It would decrease unemployment, promote good character amongst the poor, and stimulate our economic growth.

  • And p.s.

...serious pwnage from 1:06 on (I know I probably sound like fag for saying pwnage, but it was great)

Idk how you counter that, history is history. It's no wonder US is where it is and Soviets and Euro socialism is where it was / is.

  • I agree. I think we need to find a way to combine both capitalism and socialism. I dont care how we do it just find a way to do it. Both sides have demonized these words and different times and in the end the american people lose. And some point in time all of these idealogues and economists have been proven wrong. You cant always expect theories and formulas will always work when dealing with human beings.

  • In all fairness to both political sides, the economy is determined by many more things than just the president, what his cabinet believes in, and if that is even 100% implemented.

Where I think a lot of Americans will slowly turn away from Obama is if we still have ~10-12% unemployment or worse down the road. Imo, what I don't like that Obama and Congress are doing right now will more affect 5-15 years down the line when they come looking to pay past debts.

  • Yeah. I think people will turn away no matter who the pres is if they are not working.

  • Friedman, greenspan were wrong.

  • Wrong. You are an abject moron. The FED is wrong. Friedman was and is correct.

  • I fucking hate Barbara Walters. There she is yelling about another person being greedy when she makes over $5 million a year and doesnt even give any to charities. Fucking whore. Its always the OTHER GUY whos greedy and not YOU. this bitch should be slapped silly.

  • It's been documented extensively in surveys that conservatives in America are far more charitable with their own money than liberals are.

    Especially the religious conservatives.

  • joy needs to join teddy

  • Black - Yeah in pseudo-conservative surveys, or the right-wing propagandists who want to convince suckers of that.

    How do ya do sucker!

  • Uh, no, actually, all you have to do is study the financial records of someone like Mike Huckabee, vs someone like Joe Biden's.

fucking idiot. I've seen liberals openly say that all they need to do to feel like they're "helping poor people" is vote liberal.

  • @Navywxman Just set the record straight. I accidentally gave your dumb ass comment a thumbs up. You're pseudo welcome you brainwashed drone.

  • @cozyfoxstudio Yeah I know you loved it. On some level you know I'm right and Libertarian free market nonsense is all bullshit. Its not difficult to see it for the BS it is since it has no suppport in reality. Makes great fantasy fiction though huh!?

  • @Navywxman Actually liberal socialist failures make horrible non fiction. Since you can't name a single time it hasn't failed in history and we are 14 trillion in debt for the good of the people, I think it's safe to say. You're an idiot. That's the reality.

  • @Navywxman Actually liberal socialist failures make horrible non fiction. Since you can't name a single time it hasn't failed in history and we are 14 trillion in debt for the good of the people, I think it's safe to say. You're an idiot. That's the reality.

  • @cozyfoxstudio What would you know about reality? You believe in a fantasy fiction cult. Your having an argument with yourself and projecting it on to me since your not basing it on anything I said or believe. Your arguments are equally nonsensical ie. "liberal socialist failures" like western europe who in virtually every standard surpasses the US. Talk about idiot, you won that prize and then some buddy!!!!

  • @Navywxman Ahh and the truth comes out. You believe in the Carl Marxs CULT of theft and failure. I must have rattled your programming with that undeniably true Fannie/Freddie Liberal crime that set off this recession. You stopped thinking, got emotional and attacked religeon without even asking if I had one. That's a demoralized Marxist for you. BTW western Europe is in big trouble idiot.

  • @cozyfoxstudio Again your making no sense and spending your comments projecting onto me and arguing with yourself while pretending its me. Talk about idiot. If you ever want to have an actual discussion or even argument than feel free but if your just going to make up stuff and pretend I am part of it, than cya! Thanks for being another example of why 'free marketers' beliefs are fictions and are completely nuts.

  • @Navywxman You project yourself as a Marxist. You deny the failure of bankrupt social programs and your brilliant comeback was a religious slur.

Now you're calling me a free marketer as if that's bad. What's an American to think. Get it through your brainwashed mind. Social security, Fannie, Freddie, Medicare, the public schools, the city of Detroit, the state of California are all money burning Liberal run failures. Fact. Fact. Fact. The progressive agenda has put us in unsustainable debt..

  • Friedman and Hayeck all the way!

  • It is a testament to his wisdom that people are STILL debating HIM...because his ideas are the most powerful antidote to collectivist ideas.

  • thats a stupid point. people are still debating over abortion since the 70s. That doesnt mean friedman is great. We are in a recession dick weed? What wisdom and guess greenspan had wisdom to right?

  • Friedman is a sage. Keynes is a loser.

  • MILTON FRIEDMAN IS GOD!

  • About as close as you can get to one. lol.

  • But lets be serious,France is poor enough to be able to compare with US´ poors

  • lol,France . Yeahhhhh man ;)

  • Social programs being bad for society? That is not true. Canada, Norway, Sweden, France and many other nations enjoy a very high quality of life.

Many right wing Americans don't seem to realize that their country is not really a free market because the government gives out massive subsidies and tax breaks to various parts of the American economy. Don't forget "gunboat diplomacy" either, forcing someone to do business with you isn't really free market either.

  • They are all bad for society. They bankrupted the rest of the world that then use American drugs and products created from the free market.

    I'm against all subsidies.

  • Apparently you don't really know HowTheWorldWorks. (I thought it was clever)

The rest of the world is not bankrupt. The wealthiest nations in the world have extensive social programs.

If you are against social programs, then you are against public schools, fire departments, job re-training, subsidized universities public water works and highways. Seriously?

Many drugs and products are developed outside of the United States so that statement is inaccurate.

  • They are bankrupt, and I'm only for fire departments, and local funding of schools if they choose to be public.

  • You think every country in the world that has a solid social services system in place is bankrupt? You should do some research.

There is no problem with being right wing but in the future you should use facts to support your argument instead of falsely claiming that every country that has extensive social programs is bankrupt.

  • Blah, I'm a Canadian. What you neglect to mention is that Canada is financially reliant on the United States. They sneeze, we catch a cold. Social Programs are ultimately dependent on the health of the Market. Of course, the Canadian Gov't can deficit spend to pay for the programs/bail outs, just as the U.S. Gov't is doing, which of course it is (which debases our Currency). We've suffered because of their recession.

  • I never said that money for social spending came out of thin air. Of course the market is important to out economy and of course the American economy has a major effect on our economy as they are our biggest trading partner. That is all true but it doesn't really effect any of my previous statements.

  • "Gee America is the capitalist country of the world, yet we have one of the highest poverty levels..

Look like old Milton screwed that one up "

What are you talking about? That's just outright false.

  • Gee America is the capitalist country of the world, yet we have one of the highest poverty levels..

Look like old Milton screwed that one up

  • We have the lowest poverty anywhere in the world. You're the reason why taxpayers shouldn't pay for people's education.

    What a drone.

  • HowTheWorldWorks

You moron, here's just a small list of countries with lower Poverty lvl's then the U.S.

Syria, Netherlands, Ireland, Mauritius China, Thailand, Slovenia Bahamas, HungaryMalaysia, Tunisia, Libya, France, Austria, Estonia, Lithuania, Belgium, Bulgaria, Taiwan

Look like you're the reason why taxpayers shouldn't pay for people's education, you TARD

    LMAO@YOU

  • You're an abject idiot. America's poor is wealthier than EVERY country you cited. Everyone.

You never cared to look at the fact that in America, the poverty line is much higher than every country you cited. If you took all the people below the poverty line, many of them would be wealthier than the wealthiest in those Countries.

Again, this is why we shouldn't pay for your education.

  • LOL What you fail to even mention is that immigrants are moving from Syria and Lybia and many of those countries that you mention and are flooding to the United States. The United States has always had more people immigrating to the US than from the US. Both rich and poor skilled and unskilled they are coming to the US...

  • higher.. (fixed)

  • Do you really think that the poor in the United States have a lower standard of living than those living in Syria Mauritius and other countries on your list? If you do you need to get out more...Its a joke a farce for you to make that comparison...

Even the European countries that you listed are not good examples... If the poor are better off in France than they are in the US why are the poor rioting in Paris and not in Detroit? The poor in Europe are become more and more radicalized..

  • It's hilarious watching illiterate people like Joy spew these elementary economics fallacies. She lacks the intellectual faculty required to understand something so absurdly basic as the intentions/consequences fallacy in economics, and seeing her yap on is almost frightening.

I'm beginning to think we should impose Austrian economics education on people before they can vote.

  • Joy Behar should go to hell! She is crap in my opinion.

  • Joy Blowhard is a evil ugly witch.

  • The view is a crap shoot

    They never let Elizabeth talk

  • How can someone named Joy be so full of hate?

  • hahahaha

  • Pack of cunts with mowfs.

  • Urgh, thats all those women are except for the conservative girl.

Loud, obnoxious, ignorant, stupid, cry baby, idiot liberals. Nothing more.

  • Stupid liberals.

  • very well said milton

  • Wow, is that blonde chick nonsocialist?

  • yes she conservative and really hot too

  • Even the used-to-be Keynesian, monetary interventionist like Friedman better understands the issue at hand than that loud-mouthed Joy Behar

  • Great point. 220 twenty years ago, we had about four million people and leaders like Washington, Jefferson and Madison. Now, we have more than 300 million people and our best guys are Obama and Biden. What does that prove? Darwin was wrong!!

  • Only because the human race has managed to circumvent and suspend the laws of natural forces. A pity what that has done to us.

  • Five Stars!!

  • Milton Friedman's shit has more brains than Joy Behar

  • Man. Are they always talking over Elizabeth on this show?

  • These are easy to make but hard to substantiate sweeping generalizations. Its not quite that simple.

  • I'm tired of Joy Behar's ignorant remarks about Limbaugh, home-schooling, & everything else.

I don't think that the intentions behind the stimulus package are good. I don't think it's kind or compassionate to want to extort money from some people - at gunpoint - & give it to others. Not only are the means wrong; even the end is wrong.

I think of the stimulus package in terms that Leonard Peikoff once used about HillaryCare: it's "vicious in theory & therefore a disaster in practice."

  • Flawless!

  • Advocate I've got to hand it to you. These are masterful. Tie the rhetoric of today's talkshow windbags to the wisdom of history embodied by Milton Friedman, and you have an effective video. I guarentee you if you just post a vid of Milton Friedman you get a twentieth of the hits that you'll get from this vid. Keep this sort of thing coming it is badly needed.

  • lol, awesome

  • he is a genius.. I'm writing my senior paper about libertarianism and friedman's philosophy

  • Make sure you explain that there is a difference between libertarianism in Europe (Anarchism) and American Libertarianism.

Also, M.F. explains the difference b/w him and Ayn Rand in a YouTube video on Libertarianism.

  • How do I find that video?

  • I was up a while ago, I don't remember. I took it from my Naomi Klein piece.

  • The real major difference between Rand and Friedman is philosophical. Friedman, like most free-market advocates, attempted to justify a system of pure self-interest on an altruistic basis. He said that a free market is the best system for achieving a wealthy society, therefore it should be used. Rand made no such claims. She justified it on the basis of the individual. That Capitalism is in YOUR best interest, not the interests of society (which it consequently is anyway).

  • Good comment.

  • brilliant.
