I have another good (& funny) alternate ending.

The Joker falls, Batman fires his grapple hook, but it's too short so The Joker continues to fall (while laughing). He sees that he's about to hit the ground so he let's out a scream & SPLAT!

The Joker is dead.

Maybe even include the guy from Die Hard (who was the Principal in The Breakfast Club) saying "I hope that's not a hostage."

It would have been nice if Nolan had added the Joker's origin. I wanted to see how Ledger became the Joker. He talks about how he got those scars but the film never shows how he got them. I was disappointed in that aspect of the movie.

It would have been awesome if they showed the Joker being wheeled into Arkham in a straightjacket. As he passes an attractive female doctor (Harley), he winks at her.  She shows a slight smirk.

Dark knight is good for Ledgers Joker cuz it is so original and for the manipulation scenes but otherwise it is TOO LONG and repeats itself and was a media spectacle. In the original Dark Kight comic from the 80s, which was made into the 1989 movie of Batman, the Joker does die. Or at least the one that I have, Joker dies. And Harvey Dent is not yet Two-Face until many years later after Joker's death and the Joker's men are all in jail. But when the annimated series of Batman came out in the 90s, that is where the Batman series changed.
