  • i doing nails 8 years, and that nails are very thick. if you apply the acrylic well, your nails last longer than gel.and acrylic is more stronger

  • Actually UV gel nails last way longer and look more like a natural nail than acrylic nails.

    Good Nails :)

  • looks very nice, but it seems like it takes such a long time

  • without a nail drill the best result cannot be done.;)

  • Honestly, they look the same as acrylics to me. Might as well save the money (and the time!) and just get acrylics instead of gels.

  • @BabyBat0323

Sure you can use acrylics, but they smell awful and when you own a busy salon, you don't spend time on mixing and it is much faster. Plus acrylic liquid is extremely flammable, gels are not.

  • @gelnailsonline I found out I was allergic to acrylics so it's nice to have this option.

  • It was good to know how a gel sculptured nail is done, but you may need to keep your clients nails straight to you when filing them :) other wise thanks for showing me how it's done !

  • Shit

  • I truly don't understand. Why not using a nail tip to make the job a lot easier and with the method being used. It's gonna take a whole to compete a set. Gel nail doesn't have to be that complicated.

  • can you do this process with out the french tip, but with a natural nail look instead?

  • Sorry but those nails look really ghetto

  • only 9 nails left... lol

  • it takes that fucking long to do one nail? god

  • really nice job!

  • Brush is big it's true but if she works with it all the time plus nail after hand file didn't look so good as after elect file and I noticed some mistakes when u applied builder gel.

  • Your brush is huge, looks like someone trying to eat a children's yoghurt desert with a cooking spoon.

  • hey plz can u help me hav been doin nail, but the problem is everytime i do just after 2 dayz the gel come out and its look so bad, why?

  • The white smile line is bad....just an advice: you don't have to waste your time with posterior stripping(rasping) if you paint with all the gel in th right way.You use so big brushes..

  • C'mon people - it took forever because she went step by step to show you the entire process for educational purposes! I'm sure this would go much faster and smoother if she was actually just working on a client. The finished product is very beautiful though!

  • when i go to the nail salon i want them to do this. but what do i tell them?

  • Very time consuming and finicky. Why anyone would want to extend their nails in this manner is beyond me. There are faster ways and your nails will turn out fantastic.

  • oh wow...at the start i thought to myself "this cant be right" but the finished product is AMAZING! i like it alot. Im going to get gel nails done for the first time. I dnt know if the nail tech is going to do them exactly like that but if so then i hope im not disappointed

  • oh no the nails from the nail tech looks terribel this not realy professional

  • question...so people that say these looks bad is there a different UV nail video you reccomend to watch? Im getting married in16 days and do not want my natural nail filed down like regular gel nails. ive had a regular done before and it was terrible afterwards...

  • does it smell? lol :D

  • ---____---??

  • looks great but took forever. I get both hands done in just over an hour and they look just as good

  • Very bad job

  • it's aweful

  • Ok...Do people dont see that it's UV light? You know...The one that give cancer and brown spots?!

  • @audrey1053 So, you are spending a few hours on the beach(or outdoors) and worrying about 2 min exposure to UV lamp? Sun intensity hundreds of times stronger than any lamp used in nail salons. And... UV spectrum of nail curing lamps actually less harmful than sun's.

  • @gelnailsonline I'm not spending hours at the beach, I have photosensibility because of meds I take. So I'm double aware of those kind of things. And UV light is always UV light. Is the primer make the nail weaker or stronger agaist UV light? There is no scientific reasearch on that.

  • @gelnailsonline I am sorry, if you are sensitive to UV light. But, your comments are not based on scientific facts. UV gels are cured with a wavelength of about 365 nm, which is called "Ultraviolet A - UVA", "long wave" or "Black Light". Read on Wikipedia: "Unlike UVB and UVC, which are responsible for the direct DNA damage that leads to skin cancer, black light is limited to lower-energy, longer waves and does not cause sunburn."

  • how many watts curing lamp?

  • @kenshinlucy Professional lamp is usually 36 or 54 W. 9 or 18 watt lamp will work too, you just have to increase curing time, like a min or two.

  • took you that long to do one nail.... 1 year later the hand is done... it looks good though.

  • @blackdragondmd All nail technicians are different. This video was done for educational purpose :-)

  • @blackdragondmd All nail technicians are different. This video was done for educational purpose :-)

  • @blackdragondmd it takes about an hour and a half 2 hours max it depends how well trained is your nail tech an what you are doing and when doing nails you are working like 5 nails at one time

  • I've read that *some* women who get their nails done often are getting skin cancer on the back of their hands from the UV lights used. Put sunscreen on your hands before you go, just in case!

  • @jennamoj lol, nice tip..

  • i have a question. if u wanted this exact same thing at a salon wat do u ask for? like wats the name of this nail style thingy??

  • @pinkpunkprincess25 pink and white gel nails or french gel nails :)

  • @jgloxo-- if you're going to disagree with someone's opinion, that's fine with me but at least do so in an intelligent way--misspelled words and incorrect grammar make you look DUMB. If you were a *master* nail tech (which I highly doubt--you're probably just some jerk teenager) I would think you'd have a better command of the language. Whatever.

  • @kalenheather you can't touch the skin because it will cause lifting

  • This woman's cuticles are inflamed & infected, her technique is horrendous & I'd rather have my hands chopped off than go to her. There is NO WAY she's a *real* nail tech. Nope ain't buying it.

  • @Tommyzgrl I am a master nail technician and he does not have infected nails. From her technique she defiantely has some sort of trainging. Keep your ruded comments to yourself because you obviously do not know what you are talking about!

  • @Tommyzgrl I must agree with jgloxo and disagree with you. She does not have inflamed or infected cuticles. Anyone can see this. What is wrong with her technique? Everybody has a different technique, I even do it different. It doesn't mean that you have to bash the woman for doing it differently. Technique does not matter, finished product matters.

  • that looks amazing :D

  • Damn this Video was like almost 10 mins long. And that's without including the "2-3 min curing" each time. FOR JUST ONE NAIL! WOW. TOO MUCH TIME CONSUMING. I'd only do it if they had one Finger to do LOL. Nice but Total Not worth the Time !

  • Very thick!!

  • How long does this take?...

  • A nail tech. always has bad nails...you work with you hands doing others ruins your own... you do it better this is the steps ....

  • i had acrylics done a while ago with tips and everything, except she also applied gel like this, she basically gave me acrylic and gel? i'm confused :S or are there just different methods of doing it?

  • Spelled "From" and "Cuticle" wrong

  • They are soooooooo thick it's obvious it don't look natural

  • @BabyK18316 These are not thick at all hunnie..any thinner and they would break..gel nails need support

  • this looks really time consuming... sheesh. looks good in the end though.

  • For those mean comment that she's taking a long time, it's because she's sculpting the nail!!!!

  • I'd murder this lady and myself if she ever does my nails.

  • thats so pretty

  • all that time for one nail, girl you still got 9 more to go, i bet you wish that woman only had one arm

  • I get that they are just showing the basic technique for building off the nail instead of using tips, but she's applying way to much and it' looks like an acrylic with all the bulk. If done well it looks more "natural". And there are better how tos than this one.

  • More like your "NAIL" is done. lol

  • the nails are not that bad so stop bitching

  • Silky1232: when u have the sticky stuff after u remove from lamp u wipe it down with the uv cleanser it removes it all

  • how do you get the stiky stuff of the nails when doen under the uv light

  • Her technique is horrible. To create a really good smile line, you should always do the pink first, then come in with the white to make sure the line is crisp. She used no primer at all wish can ruin the girls nails. With how shitty her nails look, I don't know why anyone would ever even go to her.

  • Yes because ill type in base uv nail gel and it gives it to me but in nail polish form is that good

  • the one she did looks really beautiful. but WTF happened to HER nails ??

  • One question I keep looking for the base gel and it shows me base but in nail polish for is that fine or does it have to be in gel form?

  • @marthag0728 it definitely has to be a base gel that is UV cured if you are doing a gel nail.

  • Holy cow ten minutes later.... And where the bleep was the primer??

  • sry, these nailz look aweful !

  • @alexawhynacht yea I'm no expert but I have to agree with you

  • @alexawhynacht if you say THESE nails look awful i guess how your hands would be :S

  • @vnuse actually my nailz r realy nyce ,, check the other 26 ppl who liked my comment haha

  • the finished product looks great to me!!

  • i dont know why people would create stuffs that will only make things even harder. >_<

  • where u buy all of all that stuff for it ??? and ur very good

  • 19 people got gel ont heir skin

  • her nail looks infected and puffy, not even going to watch the rest of this, I am 9 seconds in ...

  • @Lapreghiera You probably should watch a process in it's entirety before making a judgment call. Especially on something that takes to the very last step to come together.

  • @Idiotsoverdose Not talking about the customers nails, the manicurists hands are scary. I hate that heavy curve anyway, but the nails look like they are stuffed in a sausage. She or whomever did her nails overworked her nail bed and she needs a soak. She couldn't do my nails, and I couldn't watch all that - deal.

  • @Idiotsoverdose The manicurists nails look like they are stuffed in a sausage, which means her nail bed was over worked minimum, if its not inflamed. She couldn't do my hands, and that is just my opinion - deal. And if this is a 10 minute video on one nail, she IS taking to long, which means inexperience, which could further explain her own nails...

  • it's nit neat

  • honestly it doesnt take this long...your watching every step just on one fingerthats why it seems so long

  • who figures this stuff out!!?

  • I like the end result, but takes ages to do :O

  • An hour and a half

  • final results were okay but too but gel was too lumpy causing too much filing, that's why nail too long to finish.

  • wow this sucks

  • You filed the nail too much.

  • gel is nice and lasts longer then acrylic, feels natural and doesnt damage your nails as much as acrylics an theyre thinner and more flexible :) i love them i was skeptical till i did them...now i get gel kits and my nails are long and stong :)

  • wow thats crazy if some one has that mutch time to get just one nail done and it take probly 15 20 mins i would hate to see ho wlong it takes to do all 10 some people spend more time on shit like that when they can just pop some glue on nails and be done with it thats crazy

  • god if i took that time to do 1 nail id only do 3 dsets a day! give me acrylic every time

  • i don't like the nails on the girl that's doing it

  • i like this video!

  • Beautiful job, really a fantastic way to make nails pretty and longer; I learned a lot with this video, thank you for doing it! Obviously it took long because they did it to teach us how to do it; who ever criticizes probably cannot do it so good as you do! Great job, congratulations!!!

  • this was done very messy!! The finished nail looked good, but when applying the gels it looked like you were just throwing them on and not taking and time to make them look good.

  • PERFECT NAILS BEAUTIFUL, GREAT JOB!

  • @orlandodejesus Not really lol. They were all lumpy and bumpy.

  • i had my nails done like this, i tried to remove them by buffing them but my nails are so thin i dont want to hurt them .. can someone help me?

  • @Oliisblonde if the gel on your nails is thick u may have to drill it off, this is the reason I only use acrylic.

  • @lynne150351 they soak off easily in usually 5-10 mins or less

  • really!!!!

great to learn but i feel sorry for both ladies

  • i heard Uv lights are not good for u they can cause skin cancer

  • haha you suck ass on doing nails

  • how long do these gel nails last?

  • this is the best tutorial by far

thank you it helped me a lot

  • gel nails def.look harder to make than acrylics

  • These are sculpted nails.

  • what is this technique called?

  • if i go to a salon do i ask for a uv gel nail set?? the 1 without using fake nails. because i like this method more.

  • can you please help me because i got a uv gel nail sculpture kit and i do my nails and the uv gel just peels of my nails thankyou x

  • That white gel is propably the worst gel I've ever seen! No wonder why it took such a long time, geeez..

  • i want to ask do you have to use a lamp or can u just let it dry without the lamp?

  • can i ask what number grit file u used to file and shape the gel nail?

  • white gel seems not your thing ha? there is much simpeler way with smal thiner brush with small circular moves and my advice aply less white gel

  • GREAT VIDEO!

  • very nice

  • i got scammed today! the vietnamese lady at the salon said i was getting 'solar gel nails' when really she just gave me fancy acrylics and charged 10 bucks extra. WTF. bitch.

  • @sourxxjane that happened to me tooo! I go to a spa now, with people who speak english.. xD

  • 10 minutes to do that one nail. shit crazy. sooo likeeee althogether its 100minutes to finish her hand oh yeah plus the time for curing which is like and extra 3 minutes added to each hand making it 130 mins that how many hours2 hours and 10 minutes...SMH

  • wow great job i told mi mom she should learn this i love doing nails but she alwaysgetas agriviated at nail salon because shes soo spicific arg lol i should try doing this

  • how much?

  • do you also have alcahol on the websit and if not where can i get it???

  • @ limeybeetle, it's also a long term thing. If you constantly get the gel on anywhere other than the nail, it could start to cause reactions and allergies.

@gelnailsonline, are you a professional nail tech? because that really looks like the long winded way to do them. You shouldn't use your finger to get rid of the dust when filing as that is adding natural oils to the nail and can aid to the nail lifting. You should use a brush. (I am a trained nail tech too. )

  • gel nails are ok but to gloopy for me, acrylic are much better.

  • subscribed.. :D

  • Other then for appearance is there another reason you're not supposed to get the base coat on the skin? I.e. causes irritation or something?

  • @LimeyBeetle Lifting..

  • @LimeyBeetle it will bond to the skin and when you try to remove it the skin goes with it.. or so i have been told. It has never happened to me so I am not sure.

  • @LimeyBeetle If the gel gets on the skin, then its not flush with the nail and has a little pocket underneath it, this can cause the gel to lift from the nail and can cause your nail to pop off (painful)

  • Lovely in the end! It just took a while! :)

  • loved it .

i got my nails done yesterday i got acrylic

    but..

with gel it takes like 10 mins just to do one finger

    and

with acrylic it takes 10 mins to do a whole hand

so id rather stay with acrylic, xxx

  • I've never seen this technique before - very interesting!

I have to admit - after watching the video I'd just as soon get tips applied, then gel overtop. Seems to be equally as pretty and natural looking, without all the fuss and lengthy procedure. It certainly shouldn't take 10 minutes to do one nail. One wonders why you'd do it this way at all? Is there something I'm missing?

Also, please invest in a camera tripod.

Thanks for the upload! I learned something :)

  • I'm not trying to sound rude by asking this question, I just really would like to know. Why take the time to do the tip the way you did in this video, compared to just putting a tip on by glue? Is there a benefit to doing it this way?

  • @ceciliabatta The benefit of building the nail than using tips is the result. Looks more natural and it doesnt feel that strange to ur nails, its like doing the natural extension of ur nails and not trying to put something extra on.Both ways are ok, but if u want my opinion as a pro, i dont like tips coz after 10 days if u see under ur nails looks a bit ugly(that plastic thing) but with the building way each much beter, especially when u do transparent nail designs

  • what kind of alcohol did you use????

  • the result looks ok...but in the begining i wonder what is she doing with that huge brush?????well u had to file it too much to look that good and it was only one nail, i wonder how much time u need for both hands?

  • @konstansal I'm not a professional but, me and my sister in law got tired of paying to have our nails done and having a crap job done at that. So we bought everything to do this ourselves, and i mean everything! It takes awhile to do both hands, if we put extra stuff on them (like fimo decals or something) it takes even longer. Just white tips and filing 2 hands, I's say about 1.5 - 2 hours! Definitely something we do when we plan a day for it.

  • @FrankiezShoe well, its nice that u tried it, u use only gel?If u do let me give u an advice as a pro, try a smaller brush for gels and dont apply it as a nail polish(like ur painting the nail), try to move the gel gently from sides to sides with the tip of ur brush and dont forget to avoid skin contact, thats makes it a lot easier and u avoid air bubles too.keep trying, with exercise u will do just fine.

  • Hi im just wondering how long does it take for both hands to be done?

  • It did take long but maybe it was for educational purpose. I nail did look nice after it was done.

  • Do you even know where the stress point is??

  • 10 minutes for ONE NAIL????? That can't be right.

  • what happened to doing the smile line and the primer is missingg

  • good god!! this method would take all day. And you need to shave and grind your nails down , they are like an inch thick

  • your nails are done????? u mean 1 nail is done!!!! lol jk

  • this is very dirty..l what happend with the antisepthic and primer?

  • Are gel nails better for your nails than acrylics?

  • while this is beautiful, it take entirely too long for someone I would think. Tremendous amount of skill though, the nail is flawless.

  • Hiya!

    Loved the video!

I just started doind gel nails and I use nail tips then file them into the nail instead of useing forms.

Can you tell me the difference? Like is using just gel and no fake nail tip stronger or weaker?

Whenever I got my nails done they always used nail tips. Never forms.

  • does the UV light damadge the skin and nails like the sun's UV rays?

  • Greatly done! It takes a while to do i know because im a nail tech also but hey its worth it!

  • u dont need to cure the underside of the nail

  • Jedním slovem hrozná patlanice..asi by to chtělo jiný matroš

  • that was only 1 nail and it took forever!

  • @shanienicole83 yea but remember at the salon they dont do it one at a time! ;)

  • @shanienicole83 if you dont like how long it takes then dont watch it, she does it properly. So just do one darlin.

  • wat grit count is ur buffing file?

  • I can do many things at home; hair, waxes, nails and the like but God, this seems so difficult. I wish I could do that too.

  • beautifull!

  • How do you remove the uv gel on your nails? (:

  • Gel nails the cure under UV light can only be filed or buffed off.

  • @DanetteElaine But..can you have regular nail polish on uv nails? and how do you then remove that? with acceton?

  • Yes you can use regular polish over top of uv-cured gel nails and it would come off easily with any acetone-based nail polish remover.

  • my friend that is a nail tech told me that its not supposed to use nail polish on UV gel nails instead you need to use coloured UV gel
