Going to school (St Mary's High - Highgate, St Mary) 1981. Took bus from Ocho Rios where I lived to Port Maria. Stopped in record store and bought this 45. Was it Studio 1 or Joe Gibbs? I can't remember. Got on the next bus to Highgate - eating banana chips along the way. Got off the bus after paying my 60¢ !!! (Was a dollar from Ochi). I had friends (classmates) with names like Bees Head, Mark Marley, Muscle B, Donkey, Yap Yap, Johnny Dollar, Bam Billy, Bagga, and Joker. Those were the days.
Perhaps it's a tune the Three Blind Mice-remake called "Irits" from like... 2006? I remember a bunch of tunes, Alley Cat, Natural Black, Luciano... Hope it'll help you on your way!
Certainly hope this thing about Tuff passing on is a rumour and a bad one at that. Was blessed to see him live in Trinidad in either 1999 or 2000... Talk bout vibes??? An icon among reggae singers Tuff we love yuh ! Nuff thanks for all these TUFF posts. Jah bless
Can't fully express how gratetful I am for the info on Tuff. How sweet must it have been to accompany a couple of greats like Tuff and de sweet Sugar Bugar Minott ! May come to the UK sometime this year, hope I can catch a glimpse your band. Again much thanks, Rastafari love everytime.
talking of rumors who sang that jem with rumors in the lyrics it was it Israel vibration? i can rem it sounded sweet. Not the rumors of wars one but one that when had a echo in it.dam i cant rem the name its on the tip of my tongue.
