Yeah- why would a pan knob be festooned on the thing if it wasn't meant to control it. I wouldn't be too concerned with the clap volume. Nobody sticks it out that much in the mix anyway, as long as it is a consistent "flaw" from unit to unit. Very cool box otherwise. Analogue controlled with MIDI clock.
Yeah, I noticed that the 909 does not output full 127 velocity (probably somewhere around 80). I wonder if there is a way to boost the clap's output internally...
I have a Vermona DRM1 MKIII. Yours is broken... each of the drums should pan full left/right. Send it back for repair. Good luck... Vermona are nice people and the machine is fantastic!
Unfortunately, I bought it used and the person I bought it from said he bought is used as well. I don't think there is still a warranty. I guess I'll have to contact Vermona to see if they have a flat repair rate or something. Do you know if there are an authorized service centers in the US?

I had this prob and vermona sent me a new epromm chip, i fitted it and it was sorted.
I was using an electribe as a master.
But my pan on the kick drum has never panned right, may need to clean the pots though.

Can't have everything. I'd rather have a knob for everything, then sub menus and presets.

@TheHexeract I sent it back to the seller. Now I've got a blue MkII with a faulty master volume (set at max), that I'm happy with.

hey , ive worked out your problem ... use the total accent.. watch your speakers :)
It seems that the 909 sends out low velocity info and when you use the accent it sends out full velocity
