  • Interesting they're both good in their own way I think. Then again I've just been playing the GBA version since, you know the GBA rocks.

  • gba pretty voice mama mia! good movie better colors!

    GBA best!

  • The SNES version has much better sound than the GBA, pity that the GBA didn't have the same quality as the DS has now...

  • No in SNES yoshi can hit on top of cheep cheaps and other ones (I dont have a gba so yeah not lying)

  • which one is better SNES or GBA?

  • if you look closely at the yoshis in the egg hatching scene, in the snes version, all the yoshis have orange arms, while in the gba version, their arms are the original color.

  • It's REZNOR!

  • 8:48

Both the credits and Iggy's Castle did not mention Luigy they just said it was mario even if you go in 2-p mode and play it as luigy

For more information, youtube search this:

super mario world biggest bug ever

  • I see that they re-colored Bowser a bit.

  • Hii!! The Video es WonderfuL !! i love it *-*!!

but, you forget that in the credits on gba was included to "Magic Koopa" because in SNES did not come out in the credits.

  • THATS MY PROBLEM awwwwwwwwwwwwww man didn't realize the SNES VERSION ON THE THE END SCREEN YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ELES (GROWL) I WANT TO TO SOMETHING ELSE WELL WATCH THIS GREENALINK (CENSORNED) LOL (FAILTY)

  • @Nemephosis: I'd get the GBA version because of that, but I just don't think I could get past the unbearable music and sound effects. The SNES version is much easier on the ears.

  • 1:55 I never noticed that.

  • @StormyRobbins

The GBA version max is 999,

the SNES version max is 99.

  • I never noticed Bowser in the GBA version's "camera shot" scene. Made me wtf. 0.0

  • Man, I like some of the changes to the GBA version, but JESUS CHRIST, the sound quality is terrible.

  • The thing is, the "sharing lives" feature was in the SMB3 port for the GBA, even though it wasn't present in the NES or SNES versions (appearently, it replaces the Mario Bros. mini-game to which you can steal lives).

  • The wendy death cutscene was...:D

  • This is like watching a YTP :P

  • Hey this is a really cool Video. I prefer the SNES version.

    *Thumbs Up*

  • I thought you could jump on fish enemies with yoshi in the SNES o.o

  • Press and hold L and R at once to replay castles and forts in the SNES version. In the GBA version simply beat Bowser and the castles and forts are rebuilt but have a white flag indicating you beat them. You can then replay the levels.

  • I like SNES version of super mario world the best, unlike these fans like wizard of oz the best, it makes me wanna think about earthbound on SNES

  • basicly the gba version is easier in turms of everything exept for a few level desighns... am i geting this right?

  • Good Job :D

  • 1:22 Luigi is a rapist?

  • He raped me last night!

  • @codenamel Loool

  • @adanfime9 I've sort of made that statement as a annotation at around 9:00 of the video. I'll be amazed if that is an easter egg and not a glitch.

  • thanks man, I'm getting the gba version because I remember the old one I had for the snes. I really wanted to know the differences

  • 10:23 That's what happens when you use the Star World to skip ALL THE WAY to Bowser Castle! It proves that you haven't "completely" foiled him!

  • I can't wait to get the GBA version! I've been playing the SNES version for years (In fact, it's the first game I ever played), so I've pretty much memorized the whole game, and the know the GBA version is a whole lot different, but I still like the original and it would be fun to take it anywhere!

  • I think the Princess might be a man. She's taller than big Mario!

  • @retread01 Maybe she just has insanely huge high-heels...

  • @retread01 Maybe she just has insanely huge high-heels...

  • also there is way more time in the funky stage in the snes version than in the gba

  • I remember this game! I used to play this all the time before my bitch sister stole it from me! :(

  • wtf is a gba?

  • in the snes peach kiss's his lips in the gba version she kiss; his nose or cheek

  • Didn't know the cannonballs were defeatable!

  • I would have enjoyed the GBA port of this game better if it weren't for the fact that they butchered the music so badly, especially in Valley of Bowser, the Final Boss battle and the Ending. Even Super Mario Advance 3 sounds better than this.

  • there is also that you can have 999 lives in gba and only 99 in snes and music/graphics are different (kind of obvious though)

  • It never ceases to amaze me when I see a handheld version of a game and it's actually improved in so many ways. I mean, a Game Boy Advance game actually being better than a Super NES version? Hard to believe. Not talking about the music btw.

  • how do you have 121 lives

  • the dash and look up glitch dosnt work on my copy

  • ugh, the sound quality is crap on the GBA version.

  • @fnord64 This was clearly before they figured out a better way of converting the music. It still wasn't perfect afterward (missing 4 channels of sound will do that to your stuff) but it was definitely better than this.

  • wtf is bowser doing at the THE END screen??? maybe suggesting SMW2?

  • they did. SMW 2 A.K.A. yoshi's island SNES. it is the same place, diferen't stages though. also they made a remake for yoshi's island for the DS. so that makes 4 smw games. Not 2.

  • To mariokirby12,

Don't you mean IT MAKES 3 YOSHI'S ISLAND GAMES, NOT 2?

  • @MrHossCartwright Never heard of Yoshi's Story on N64? That would make it 4.

  • @JASpiring

I don't consider Yoshi's Story a sequel to any Super Mario World games. It's just too different.

  • The translucent mushrooms in the ghost house are so cool! They should've kept them :(

  • I personally like the gba version better because you can play luigi in one player mode.

  • mostly yoshi stuff

  • Thank you for making this video. Even tho the changes are small, you don't mess with a classic. Super Mario World is the best game ever made. Here's for hoping that The New Super Mario Bros for the Wii will be anywhere as nearly as good.

  • Never noticed that they redid Peach's sprite.

  • ....you have it back words...

  • very, very, very awesome, i haven´t put atention to that little details that make a diference of this game

    Very good video 5*´s

  • 3:03

If you listen carfully, you can also hear the fact that on the temporary platforms, if the timer decreases by 1 second, you can hear a sound effect too.

  • 1:09

    I don't see the difference.

  • I think that was an error by me. The score difference from punching the net is caused by the Koopa's Colour.

  • @Greenalink

I too am curious and I couldn't follow your answer.

  • i liked the fact that the lives were lost when you stopped playing. it made you play longer :P all mario ports to later consoles were made easier. like super mario all-stars and gba ports of those games.

  • lol at the outro cut scene not mentioning luigi, no wonder "collegehumor" made a "luigi finally snaps" video.

  • Why often you use ehter a green Yoshi and a Blue Yoshi?

  • In "New Super Mario Bros. Wii" when Yoshi swallows a shell, Mario seizes power of the shell

    for example

In the Trailer it sees when Yoshi it eat a Red Koopa, and Mario he transformed into Fire Mario.

  • Nintendo got lazy at the final battle because browser and peach are UGLY!!!

  • What? Firefox and Peach are ugly?

    Fuck you, Firefox rules.

  • @haddadaj

Mr. Beer is fail. Firefox and Peach aren't ugly, they're pretty. :D

  • eri tonto o te asi hay partes q estan malas awnao mata si no te gusta el super mario world de snes marak ql

  • Peach is hideous in the original but pretty in the GBA?!?

  • All the changes from SNES to GBA seem to make the game much easier.

  • @Nemephosis That was the idea of the Super mario advanced GBA series, and to also include a copy of Mario Bros

  • 0:01

  • how did you fly with the feather in the bowser fight ?????? It's incredible!

  • It was a clip from an SNES TAS run. I didn't make it.

  • I love the original one.

  • SNES supiriority

  • you also forgot how snesc sound and music is also obviously supior.

  • like 6:20 -6:48 waerre two different koopa kids

  • my first comment didn't post....

  • and for bowser, it would've been nice for you to have used the same powerups, i think it's invalid that you used a cape in one and plain super in the other... and the only reason you killed the ball on the snes and took a hit on the gba is because you did a spin attack on it and killed it, making it unable to hurt you, something else you should have proven on both versions... anyway, this video made me rage and i digress unless you want me to rip it to smaller pieces

  • I didn't play the SNES Bowser fight as it was from an TAS run. 2ndly it was the sound effect when the giant cannon ball appears NOT defeating it.

  • There is nothing wrong with the GBA version. There is also nothing wrong with the SNES version. They just have some small differences. But I have to say that the GBA version was put to the next level.

I still love both of them.

  • Cool, thanks!

  • I had the GBA version but lost it so I downloaded the SNES version on the wii but can someone tell me if you can do a castle more than once in the SNES version? Or if once you do it you do it.

  • On the SNES you hold L and R and press A to enter the castle (and I think you don't need to defeat Bowser to activate this trick too).

Pointless trivia: The L and R method doesn't work on the GBA and the Japanese Super Famicom version.

  • uhm.. when yoshi swallows a GREEN SHELL he can spit it out (snes) u had a green yoshi as well (in GBa u had red and didnt eat any shell)

  • That's because I was showing about the Swallow sound effect, not the Koopa shells. In the SNES you hear a coin sound effect but in the GBA it was removed.

  • yeh looks like some in retrospect touches, & presentation touches have been made to GBA. but also fru the whole vids, its made slightly easier for the target audience. dunno wether its better or worse than the original

  • these are two versions made for each console/handheld

so it really doesn't matter, if you've played the SNES version first and then play the GBA version you think i liked the SNES version more, but if you've played the GBA version first and then the SNES version you think, woow glad that i have the GBA version

    really its different

  • oi!!!! slowdown greenalink!!! do i hav to pause everything.your captions are too short. ive got my finger on the pause button constantly. the info bit is excellent tho, good job!!

  • OMG! Never noticed Bowser there!

  • super mario world advance is a HUGE INPROVMEND then the snes one it sucked for me advance was alot difrent!!!

  • it sucked ?

it sucked cuz the GBA had litte differences ?

jeez man, i can think like that also, i say it sucks for GBA cuz the graphics are worse !

  • i dont see a difrents this gba verison is alot better for me!

  • uuhm ok, i don't really understand what your saying but i think thats your opinion, my opinion is that i think the SNES version is better, but thats just my opinion

  • its true its our opinion eryone one has ther opinion:D

  • be glad that we ain't living in the past, then you didn't have your opinion ;)

  • true its true thank god:D wanna be friends?

  • yeah, ofcourse, but do you create games ?

i read someone posting at your channel saying : Working on a game called Rygar

    and you ?

iam into creating games but i do not produce them or finished one, didn't have enough time to finish my project

  • now thats fron my friends i wont have upploaded vids for awile gotta have a better comp:D plus i will think of a game soon cuz i have a yt dream i wanna help guys and girls if their getting stuck on a video game so í will help you and other guys and girls so yah thats my friends saying:D

  • :D

i maybe got a vid for you that i didn't edit, i don't have time to edit right now, homework, other projects etc

maybe you could edit the video and put it to your videos ?

  • prbly i will upload vids soon i hope:D

  • SNES kicks GBA's ass 1000 times over... i hate the GBA version they made it way to easy and added the stupid voiced

  • That was mentioned in part 1 :)

  • so what your trying to do is showing how better gba version of SMW is better? YOUR WRONG. snes version rocks my socks!

  • So you think I'm making a video of "why the GBA version is better?" YOUR WRONG!! This is just a comparision video to show how much the GBA has changed the original game.

  • i never watched what bowser was in the background of the field in the picture shot noice

  • SNES : Peach KISSED Mario? Oooooooh! I know some ones who are in love each with other!!!! XD

  • one is wrong it has the cutscene but differet castles stupid >.>

  • I wasn't showing the castle cutscene

"SNES/VC: No death cry, bonus multiplier is 50 and the Screen size doesn't alter.

GBA: A death cry is added, bonus multiplier is 200 and the Screen moves up a bit when the text comes in."

I was talking about the bonus, and the text that comes in. Stupid >.>

  • do you come by the special if you have hole mario 2 completed? can you send me a message at my youtube account? thanks

  • i still like the snes version better xD

  • how do u get to that special place when u restarted on gba?

  • If you are luigi yoshi can still spit out anything he swallows.

  • That was meantioned in part 3

  • YOU DIDN'T NOTE THIS!

Stop the video at "THE END SHOT:" note at GBA version. Whenit gets photo look to left up, there he is. He will return!

  • Oh never mind. Someone found it first.

  • What does the Red Yoshi and the Yellow Yoshi say when you make them big?

  • basically, the gba version was much easier, expected..

  • I still say the snes version is way better then the gameboy version.

  • I have a serious question. Does anyone know of a snes game where u can play 2 player simotaniously. I played a long time ago as yoshi while my friend was mario. at the same time. it was relaly fun but i can't remmber what the game was called or how to do it. lemme know if u know and send me a message when u find out instead of just replying. thanx.

  • well.. super probector, mortal kombat, street fighter, super mario kart, donkey kong country (i think), super turrican, final fight... i cant think of any others :S

  • Does anyone besides me know how to get a gold/yellow yoshi?

  • what nintendo couldnt fit Yoshis chimney on the gba screen?

  • the sound the game makes when you spin jump is different but you didnt put that in.

  • That sound seems like a minor tweak not like the net gate door spin sound effect.

  • nvm then

  • i love the claping mario cheat XD

  • 1:29 luigy kicks yoshi's but

  • I don't know, but i prefer the SNES version.

    :)

  • Why are people thumbsdowning this guy? He's only sharing his opinion! He should get a thumbs up!

  • the gba end is better x))

  • i think i noticed something different in the VC version, just before the boss in the first castle the wooden things smash you, on the VC there is one right above the door, but on the snes its before the door.

  • Yeah the GBA version sucks all around, every aspect of it sucks, sounds, graphics and coloration. Just look at it and listen to it.

It looks and sounds so dirty on GBA. The original is still the best hands down. GBA was already a dinosaur upon it's release compared to SNES so it's no wonder why.

Every remake on the GBA has always been inferior to the original version.

  • Except Super Mario Advance 3 where they added Yoshi voices, the colours were better and you get 6 brand new levels.

  • sound like the GBA Version won this round except the color in SNES Version tho

  • except also

ya can play it on the DS 2

it looked close 2 the SNES Version tho

  • w00t! The SNES is the best!

  • STOP KICKING YOSHI! XD

  • The original is TRULY the best, and that's exactly how I feel about Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

  • This video is horribly put together and confusing.

  • NO IT'snot, read the description and use your head. Although part 3 was less confusing to read.

  • Snes is much better

  • I agree.

  • 7:36 woo hoo! just what-SCRRREEE! lol

  • Wow, I never know to how to get a high score until now, you guide me for Cape Spin on Shell combo trick. Thank you!

  • Nice comparison.

By graphics and style, I would go for the SNES version, but for the gameplay and the difficulty, I would choose the GBA version of the game. I played this on my friend's GBA, and it brought me back memories of the past when I played SMW. It was hard to beat on other levels, but I was surprised to see that Nintendo made some of the levels easier. That made me happy. =)

  • For the Koopa on the net thing

Red koopa is worth more points anyway cause its fasterr :)

  • alot of these dont make sense

  • Super Mario World of GBA version is more easy

  • The GBA does have a few twiks that make it somewhat smoother to play and has better presentation.

But the SNES version is more challenging and aside from not having Dragon Coins in Castles/Fortresses/Haunted Houses, and the colors are more vibrant.

You need to do a third one mentioning the Status menu in GBA version where you see what have you accomplished and the Peach Coin scene.

  • there will be a part 3 soon, I didn't added those things you've said on the 2nd paragraph because thoses are "Additions" sorta of a change (which is why I use 2 clips SNES to GBA).

  • Send me the Link plz

  • just search it.... "BOWSER SUPER MARIO WORLD" or something it will only take you a few seconds.

  • Cool... But i only need to know how Beat Browser

    Can Make Video?

  • there's loads already on Youtube, even a TAS run of it shows the Bowser boss fight.

  • opinion plz

what is better the SNES version or the GBA version?

  • It's a hard one to decide.

The SNES version is the harder / more challenging of the 2.

The GBA version does makes things a bit easier.

    I can't decide.

  • On SMW for the GBA, I played it so much that I have 9,999,990 points. Or something like that. And it won't go any higher. I also found all 96 exits.

  • me too, although i dont have all 96 levels, i have 95 because i dont like how it changes

  • One more difference: The text in the SNES version only mentions Mario. The GBA version mentions both Mario and Luigi. Also, the GBA music is inaccurate at times, it's a pain to hear (especially Valley of Bowser, Final Bowser, and Ending).

  • At the Peach Revaling part, the Clown Cooper was faceing in SNES at Mario and GBA the wrong way!

  • That might be just the position where Mario was during the Koopa Clown Car was returning.
