Art is the greatest thing to execs in its purest form, I am a music minor at ISU. Now after saying that I am a Political Science major at ISU and I'm telling you to not wast my tax money when music and all other art forms are free market only!
Dear Congress, Last year I mismanaged my funds and this year I cannot decide on a budget. Until I have come to a unified decision that fits all of my needs and interests, I will have to shut down my checkbook and will no longer be able to pay my taxes. I'm sure you'll understand. Thank you very much for setting an example we can all follow
Yes . . . by individually supporting the arts that you have a preference for, rather than forcing everyone through taxation and distribution to support anything considered art.
The arts have been able to support themselves on the market quite successfully over the past century with minimal government sponsorship. Such artists as Josh Groban, Julia Roberts, George Lucas, and others are not hurting for support.
There's no valid moral or economic reason to be supporting the arts with taxes.
It is inherent and self-evident, for were it not for the arts, our founding fathers would not have been enlightened enough to conceive of such a document.
I suggest you re-read the Constitution and the writings of the framers. Your mistake here is conflating GOVERNMENT INTERFERENCE with enlightenment. On this, the founders would reject your argument outright. The arts, along with everything else, must not be funded through organized violence.
