Not showing it at its best intended use. If you have a board with Bark on the edge you just eye it up then feed it in and it puts a straight edge on the board then you set the fence for multiple cutting of pieces.

I used to have to do this on table saw with a shop made straight line board.

Almost unlike a table saw the blade is on top, the track on the table holds the board straight, hence the name straight-line ripsaw.
