I was in York, Maine just a few weeks ago and loved it! My husband's family lived in York in the late 1600's, early 1700's before the family moved to Bangor. It's really a beautiful town rich in history. Can't wait to go back again!
I love York. I have wonderful memories of it as a child when I lived in Maine and went to visit my grandmother. She used to take us to the salt water taffy store. As an adult I can spend hours on the rocks next to the Nubble Light. I love and miss Maine so much. There's no place like it.
so do I. its a great place to be. I go down to the beach with the kids everyday. The kids love the beach and its a great place to relax for the adults. Really gets my mind off the stresses of work
oh it really does, just sit back with an iced water and just relax. dont think about back home, just watch as the waves crash onto the sandy shoreline, the kids play in the sand, and just cancel everything else out. the drive fromn staten island to york doesnt bother me anymore, because i know i will be sleeping on the beach once i get there, maybe have a cold corona (LOL). then at night i go back to the beach house and cook up some hamburgers and dogs for the family, oh how i cant wait for it
oh you know it. at first i thought, theres no way in hell im driving all the way from staten island to maine. but after one day on the beach with the kids, i realized that this is where i belong
Unfortunately I didn't get to go as I am now living in Arizona. I'm going on vacation there next year. Going to travel the coastline, maybe go to Monhegan Island. Have fun on your trip there. It's wierd how rainy Maine and New Hampshire has been, like 28 days straight or something like that. Turning into Seattle....or England. lol. Hopefully it will be sunny. Thanks for the comment, glad you liked the video. Check out my other one too if you have not already.
I am going there in a week and i went to maine 5 years ago and we stayed there for about 5 years with a bunch of good people like friends, family. then now we go here to york and i love it and we have a LOT of friends who go the same time as us. im pissed i miss the fireworks this year but i heard it was foggy and rainy... reply to me if u went during the 4th and how the weather was. but i love york its my place to get away from new hampshire which i hate and its so free there.
I just returned from a week at York Beach and this made me want to turn around and go right back! I've loved that place since I was a child. The houses at 1:37 are right on Long Sands beach, directly across from the ocean (very near to where I stayed). The lighthouse may be the one you can see from Fort McClary in Kittery -- not sure. Beautiful video!
I think this is a great video! The houses at 1:37 especially the blue & white one is beautiful! Is it a painting?? I would pay millions for that front house.
@DMachoMickey It looks like the Goat Island light in Kennebunkport, but I'm not positive. Every time I've seen that lighthouse it's been from the opposite direction.

Just had an overnighter there earlier this week. Sad to see that the Lazy Lobster is gone. What became of Lemmy the Lobster? : (

What lighthouse is that at 1:46? It's not Nubble, and I didn't think it was Portland Head, so I'm not sure. Just curious.
Great shots, especially the sunrise, the lighthouses, and of course, the candy shop! Thanks for sharing.
