  • is that the RAID engine or RAID II engine?

  • is the piston connected to the connecting rod? i have an old air motor similar to this and when air isnt applied the piston doesnt turn by hand turning the crankshaft

  • In the video I was using a small (~250ml) bottle that came with it, but the end cap split. Made my own 1L replacement bottle (doesn't fit on the car!):

Cut the valve out of a bike inner tube (schrader / car type valve is best), drill a hole in the lid of a fizzy drink bottle so that it just fits the valve. Cut the rubber around the base of the valve down until it has a shoulder that just fits inside the lid. The pressure holds the valve in place, but you can glue it in if it's leaking.

  • Hey i got a little RAID air engine but i don't have a bottle to power it from, what are you using?

  • so the holes drilled in the side of the barrel are the air escape ports ? and with motion the piston lifts back up? if this is so wha tcontrol the air input?

  • Yeah there's about 6 exhausts (2 small ones). The crank has no "little end" - it ends in a ball that pushes against the piston head. The piston is pushed up by the crank on the return stroke. Air is let in by a small spigot on the top of the piston which opens a rubber ball valve in the top of the cylinder.
