for easy soul trapping, i make a bow with soul trap enchant set to 1 second, so when the enamy dies i auto capture its soul. very useful with duel enchant.

@Airsofter0998 it's an artifact forged by the daedric princes. Getting all of them will unlock the Oblivion Walker Achievement ;)

I got lucky after I got the star, because I found a dagger that trap souls if you kill someone with it. And I guess that they are pretty hard to find :P

oh my gosh T.T i didn't know that if you had a bounty on you she automatically attacked you, from her magic and such i thot she was some kinda dragon priest so i kept trying to kill her, only to find out she resurrects every time u kill her...well i guess that was a HUGE waste of arrows and time

@TMLuft you must first have a soul trap spell/enchantment. Then cast soul trap on an enemy and kill them before the effect wears out to trap their soul.

1. buy the spell and try to cast it on your enemy before you kill it. I found that to be inordinately difficult compared to method 2.

2. Get a weapon with the soul trap enchantment on it. Usually only takes a couple of hours play to find a vendor with it. Disenchant. Make/buy/steal the best unenchanted weapon you can. Enchant it with 1 sec duration, any more wastes charges cause the effect is applied with your killing blow. Recharge it occasionally with one of the souls.

@zingrinder activating the atronach stone helps, since it grants you magic resistance! also having magic resistance equipment helps alot. summoning a dremora with the sanguine rose can make the battle easier.

@zingrinder stock up on a lot of potions, make sure to have useful spells like a flame atronoch cause your follower cant go in with u, so make sure to have a good summon and before u go in u should have good smithing so u can make your weapon legendary, so u can have a stronger weapon

@dshdestoyer you need to capture a soul, to do that you need to cast soul trap on an enemy and kill him, or you could kill an enemy with a weapon enchanted with soul trap.

@inTubeHD Are you sure you're capturing the right type of souls for your star? Azura's star only captures creature souls and the Black Star only captures humanoid souls.
