I was in Cu Chi, 67-68 , flew on many Hueys, brings back memories. Nothing like the sound of the UH-1. Many men today can thank the pilots, door gunners, and those great choppers.
@jdcor7111 I was a Little Bear door gunner in '67 and '68, maybe our paths crossed back then. We tried our best to do our job and some of us believed we were doing the right thing by being there. Anybody we may have helped, you are quite welcome! Dave
My dad is retired Army and served 2 tours in Viet-nam as a Crew Chief and Door Gunner on the Huey GunShips! The Deans and The Razorbacks! The first year he was there , he was at Ton Son Nhut Airfield in Saigon. His second year he was there he was in Cu Chi. He was wth the 25th Infantry Division there.
He originally went there from Fort Bragg. Simmons Army Airfield.

My husband, Ret. IP, PIC , WOII , flew UH-1's Medivac from 92 to 97.
We lived one block from the alert room ! I always new when to bring him dinner,, cause he'd POP them roters till the windows shook coming home from a mission.
@hueylewisfan12345 Check my account.. I have a version with no music on it as well. The video is exactly the same.. just Huey noises... You might like it better...
Why the heck would you put music to an otherwise great video? Im getting tired of this crap! Every time I go to watch a video i get to hear someone else's crap taste in music!
I was at Cu Chi '66-'67 and this video brings back many memories. I was always facinated with the Huey and got a ride on many of them on different operations there. Where is this one now? What is the tail number? Thanks so much for posting this!!
@06molly The tail number is 503TW and it currently resides in Concord California. And I am lucky enough to be able to fly this beautiful ship from time to time.
Yeah,, I know... I don't mind it, but I was there (shooting it all) so I got the real effect..... Amazing machine...... great pilot.. (Tim Horrell). Just awesome.
