Its a diesel as well, so no ignition system to get wet, and its an older vehicle so probably no electronics, just mechanical. If your worried about the engine stopping, add a snorkel exhaust as well. Perfect water cooling too lol.

I mean wouldn't water go all over through ur engine and kill the ECU, spark plug, exhaust system and pretty much ur whole engine?

it gos into your air intake so the engine doesnt suck the water in, most people water proof the ecu and all that and the exhaust pressure wont allow any water to flow back into it

A snorkel simply attaches to the intake, it just gets nice dry air into the engine.

As for the electronics and everything, they are waterproofed, usually using high temp silicone or something of that order.

The exhaust system is of no concern as long as the motor stays running, there is more than enough pressure to keep the water out. If you shut off the engine though, you might be in trouble.
