  • Tapioco is also very healthy...full of calcium. Am I right Manjula-ji?

I used-to give my son this kheer when he had teething problems..and it really worked. Hope it helps other mommies too !

  • i really love your recipes.. they are simple and delicious .. thanx alot :)

  • very willing to try it. im a pretty big fan of tapioca pudding. plus, i love to try new things. never heard of mixing pistachios with it though. but hey, if they taste really good in canolis, im pretty sure they taste good in tapioca pudding also. haha

  • thanx for the recipe

  • Namaste Aunti Manjula. I love your recipe. And thanks a million times for taking time here to teach us. I tried your tapioca but when I put 1/3 of water to it, to sit for two hours it became one piece like a pie. I don't know what happened. Could it be because the tapioca little ball like structure where not as big as yours. When I put it in the milk it wont disolve. then had to try another one this time I put the tapioca with out the resoak. It wasn't bad.

  • thank you ! i love tapioca and will make the recipe soon.

manjola, can you show a recipe for puran poli ?

  • I was so looking forward to making this today but when I got home I realized I purchased tapioca starch...is there anyway I could use this instead of the pearls and if so how much should I use! Thanks!

  • @chattingwithu

Sorry tapioca starch will not work.

  • @Manjulaskitchen ok...thank you...I will look for the pearls then.

  • @Manjulaskitchen What will be the result if tapioca starch is used? I only have the starch. /thanks!

  • @chattingwithu Its about 3 months since you asked so I guess you might just have figured out what to do with your starch, but if not, let me tell you that Creme Anglais or Creme Patissiere which is used to fill gooey pastires is made with that. What you need to do is to soak 1.5 tbsp of starch in 2 tbsp of cold milk and bring to boil 1 cup of milk, add this cold soaked starch to it under stirring with a whisk. You must add sugar, salt and vanilla to taste and voila you have a delicious dessert.

  • @bornarchitect If you use one part of evaporated milk, and 2 parts of non fat milk (skimmed) you should be able to fool the tongues!
