  • Some of the best and most ass-kickin great music comes from the so-called "backwater folk"!

  • I just found this kind of music and I'm happy beyond belief:) just makes me smile and tap my fingers, I wish there was a place here in Croatia where I could listen live performance and dance:)

  • fantastic harmonizing

  • *Sigh* A lot of things make me miss home, and hearing this music is definately one of them.

It may have been hot and humid, mosquitos were everywhere... But it was home, dammit!

Maybe one day I'll get to move back to Baton Rogue.

    bonne écoute....

  • I think our town has a club with zydeco bands. Is this at all similar to zydeco? If so, I have to check it out. Never known much about Cajun culture or music, but love the bits & pieces of music I've heard.

  • @usaruss If it's easier to grasp, treat this as the blues and Zydeco is similar to rock and roll in it's relationship to this? Zydeco is black creole music with a strong root in Cajun music - check it out, its pretty good!

  • @tomtomtom1230 Yes, I've checked out a couple of bands. They are all good. Papa Mojo's is the night club in our town. I think they have both kinds of bands. I'll check them out soon as possible and keep watching Youtube for various bands. Youtube is great.

  • i want to play accordian like this !!!!!

  • Any true Cajun knows it starts with a knee poppin and then travels down to your toes while the whole time your heart is dancing.

  • Oh...my god. I did everything possible to keep from dancing to this..and I failed, but holy hell, this music is great. Too bad we don't have music like this up here. I love it :D

  • Great!!! Makes me think of my daddy's hometown!!

  • @HannahlovesBen1 yea me too .........been halfway across the world for 2 years :(

  • For those who keep asking.... It's the Amédée 2 step

  • hey, great , thanks for sharing! Is it Amédée 2 step? if yes, great version, or else great tune, and please give the name to us!

  • Can't say enough good about this family and their music! Been a fan for years and introduce their music where ever and when ever I can. I dare anyone to listen and keep their feet still. Can't be done!

  • Don't come any better!

    Larry Cohn

  • Awesome I wish you guys would come 'downunder' to Aussie

  • moi je conais...

  • TALENT!

  • amazing,all good things

  • I wish Marc would get rid of that moustache. It makes him look like Saddam Hussein.

  • @gootenslog It's a glorious moustache, though, and certainly fitting for an elderly Cadien (or any type of Frenchman, for that matter). My great grandfather had one just like it, as well as a similar haircut. As far as I'm concerned, once Cadien men become old, they are required to have some kind of facial hair like this.

  • @gootenslog ha ha ohh fuck ,man i was jus thinkin that myself , now ive just spat beer on my laptop !!!

  • Vive la musique Cajun, une française qui vous remercie et vous salue...

  • bravo !! vriment de la bonne musique.. le quebec vous salut !!

  • did you see marc's little cajun fingers tearin up those buttons ? looked like he wasn even tryin.

  • Dammit, I'm learnin' me some french.

  • a big acadian: yeeeeeeeeupppp!

  • That is one tenacious and patient guitar playing woman...

  • Sounds really good, love your music!

  • Damn this stuff always makes me feel like dsancing. Nice

  • SAVOY is my mom's maiden name!!! I know the SAVOY family.. Please email me at michaelfruge7@cs.com when you have a chance, I am a photography buff at heart and like your work. Maybe one day you & I can go out on the basin (McGee's Landing, EX.) and shoot some great sunrises!! OR sunsets!!!!

  • Sounds like Irish bagpipes.

  • This music is great ! I'm Acadian from Canada, and our music is very similar.

  • @JUMPMASTER1963 very similar. this music warms my heart tremendously. a tout, un grand comment ca va!

  • I just love it :-)

  • is this amede 2 step?

  • @bmsparticus Yes it is the Amede 2 step

  • une fois de plus, comment ne pas taper du pieds en écoutant ce morceau,,, à consommer sans modération,,,,,,

  • dis music haint neva gonna die, in our school we required to take 2 years ov-a language. and i took damn spanish. i regret not takeing mo french , i know little an wanna learn mo. im finally gettin a accordion to learn on.

  • @bmsparticus Spanish is a beautiful and romantic language. I speak spanish and I am learning french. I think that you can do the same so... dont regret. I love cajun music, cajun dinner and the accent of people from those places.

  • Laissez Les Bon Temps Roulez!!!!!!

  • vive la france!

  • You'd have to nail your foot to the floor to keep from tapping it!

  • What an excellent compliment to give to a really catchy piece of cajun music. Your one line, bangwezi, really just says it all....quite funny also...!!!

  • @bangwezl

hahahaha my foot was tapping away before I read this. Man, Cajun music is new to me and I think I've fallen in love.

  • Sounds great!

  • @bangwezl That's the thing about Cajun music...so much life and energy and love. That's because that's who we are down here, till we die:)

  • @bangwezl I ripped a nail out of my floor from tapping

  • @bangwezl exactly, I had no nails at the hand...

  • franchement exellent....bravo a tous.

  • the guitar chick is the shit. groovin!!

  • beutiful family, wonderful people, keeping a tradition alive!!!!

  • i watched it till the end,not bad seeing as i'm a guitar freak

  • that's what i'm talkin about!

  • wow, i love this

Maudits anglais, tabarnak!...(just kidding man)

  • Superb

  • Awesome!!!!!

  • You will not stop once this music starts, it's kind of puts you into a musical hypnotic trance and you cannot stop yourself from dancing.

  • super cette musique! un cousin de france

  • Super,50 stars,love this music,,,,,,,,,,

  • oh yeah this is it buddy.

  • Should of had a triangle definitiely.

  • get the whisky out nget the party goin in bonnie scotland

  • I saw that movie 20 years ago.. Its great movie, I will watch it again when I found it

  • That's really funny, because 20 years ago, those men were little boys.

  • great Cajun music right there! Even without the triangle!

Hey, watch "southren comfort". Great movie about the Cajuns.

  • Better yet, find "Dirty Rice". It's an authentic reflection of the culture of the Cajun people. Southern Comfort is a backwoods stereotype that does not reflect the wonderful Cajun people, but it is entertaining just the same.

  • wow.. excellent

  • Have to dance to this not sit still

  • They live in Eunice LA, and have workshops, a hall for all performers to participate or just listen.

  • its funny, I met them and they thought they knew me, so nice a tight family, and humble. Mark Savoy the father makes accordians. They arent for fame, just hold cajun music to its roots. Its beatiful.

  • Where did this performance take place? Beautiful! Joel's solo got the applause, but it was all so good.

  • As you say a great performance! This was filmed at the Dewey Balfa Cajun and Creole Heritage Week at Lake Chicot in Louisiana. It is a wonderful week of music, eating and dancing and takes place every year in April, just before the Festival International in Lafayette.

  • I have never heard this hand before, but they sound great to me

  • IMHO, one of the top Cajun bands on the planet! Mark Savoy is my hero. Been a fan since I first heard him in 1976 at the National Folk Festival outside DC. Ann and the boys are great too. I love this music.
