@CincinnatiTnT - any attribute drill shouldn't counter the logic of either another attribute or principle of motion; speed is nothing without accuracy, mechanics, and structure. If you're ever in Mississippi, stop by one of my classes, you might learn something.
The first movement of the first drill seems not only a bit redundant, but counter-productive as well - the first move is the outward parry (presumably taking the punch to the outside of the face, then the other hand comes in with the inward parry crossing it BACK ACROSS the face (wasted motion) - that's a dangerous thing to attempt on a good, hard punching coming in on a line. Also, it seems even more redundant to practice this drill so out-of-range (lack of "liveness" as some would call it).
nice. we do similar stuff at my school, you can get some serious speed and reaction from working these kinds of drills. altho one critique, why are they practicing that totally out of range? (probably the reason Jank calls fake) and question, the text said 6th black theory, do you have to get to 6th black to learn this? i cant hear what's being said (downtime at work). but that's pretty basic, and im sure people with a few weeks or so in the system could learn, and benefit from this drill.
Mark is my Sifu. I have personally worked this drill with him.
It is a standard drill that is used in Kenpo class for building reflexes/speed and sensitivity. It is similar to hu-bud in Filpino arts Mark is really that fast!
@Jank143 On what do you base this judgement on? Your inability to match the speed Mark displayed? I am one of Mark's students and just last week in a private lesson, Mark and I did the speed set drill. Believe me, it's not fake and there was not way I could match his speed - yet.

@sifujason, I Believe it's a drill to work on the speed of your blocks/parries, nothing else... Try it with a partner you might learn something.

interesting way of going to the inside with the second parry. Very similar to arnis trapping hands.

It sure is great to see Tracy Kenpo videos on youtube. This system is so awsome because of how effective it is.
