  • What did I say about your shorts???

  • this is great. Bailey you keep up the great work. please watch my video of me pitching and comment!!!!!!!!

  • well, im not trying to be rude, but i first started throwing a riseball at age 11 and it was a bit faster than that, and it still did not rise because it didnt have enough speed to move the ball. it's basically just throwing it high at that speed. my high school coach, who worked alongside mike candrea at the university of arizona, says that for the riseball to work properly, the pitch should be thrown at speeds of upper 50's and higher. but she's a good pitcher! good luck in your career! :]

  • Guys It doesnt matter how old you are its how hard you work. Im 12. I started pitching 2 years ago and I hit 67 this week. No lie. Its how bad you wana be the best pitcher you can be there isn't anything else to it.

  • its funny that you say that its common at the 12U level, when the top pitching coaches in the nation say that u shouldn't learn a riseball until you are about 15 or 16 years old and throwing a certain speed. ask any Olympic pitcher they will tell you the same thing. maybe they are common in ur area because everyone goes to the same pitching coach? and my sister is a pitcher and is 15 and throwing 62mph and will be learning the rise this summer.

  • I don't remember labeling the video "what the top pitching coaches in the nation say" I can only tell you the way things are here, and, unlike some I try to speak to only what I know as fact. I know as fact that the riseball is very common at the 12U level in this area. There are alot of coaches in the area, this is a hotspot for fastpitch.

  • I do have to thank you for being mostly positive, but you shouldn't assume everyone has the same experiences.

  • her riseball doesn't "Jump" because she does not throw hard enough for it to move. You shouldn't learn a rise until you throw the ball around 58 to 60 mph. Otherwise its just a high fastball with no break and therefor it will go bye bye. shes pretty good but she would be better off learning a curve or a drop before a riseball. Btw riseballs are NOT "commonplace at the 12U level". They aren't even "commonplace" at the High school level. keep working hard.

  • I don't presume to know much about you since you have no videos of your own. But in the Quad Cities(IL/IA) area the riseball is used at the 12U level. I can also tell you from a few years of experience on the bucket, that a ball thrown with the riseball spin at 50mph will behave as it was intended.

She was slower with the new ball and this was her FIRST lesson on "riseball" spin, what you hear is called "positive reinforcement" from her coach and we are blessed to have him.

  • Amen!!!!!

  • that was awsome Bai Bai (I bet you know who I am now.) if you don't I AM KARLI! KATAANG RULES! bye:-)

  • thats awsome
