The problem here is its not good for everyday use. I've got FX-6100 at 4518mhz with 1.525 volts and at full load after 1 hour i've got 64 degree c(cooling with Noctua NH-D14). Guaranteed the second you run prime 95 your crash or lose 7 out of 8 of your cores. Cause the voltage isn't high enough and if you did turn in up you'd fry your chip right away. you must be pushing 80 degrees at 1.66 anyway. show that setup with a proper torture test and i'll be impressed!
2048mb of ram and only a 256mb graphics card? Why buy a 8 core processor and disable 75% of its cores? It's going to perform worse even if you get just those two cores to 10ghz.
This 5 GHz OC is just Screenstable, but when you'll get into any Game or demanding Application it'll crash!Because if its idle the TDP is not reached, but when the Coolers TDP is below the CPUs one, the CPU WILL get warmer than good, that WILL result in calculating errors -> Crash!

When cpu-z is open, its still only at 1%-2% usage... The highest it hits is 4% when cpu-z is opening.
This person was obviously running something other than cpu-z (that would be Turbo-Evo when he was changing the frequency. Of course it would cause things to spike up.)

when you compare intel i5 or i7 with amd 8 core make sure you turn off the 4 or 2 other core and dont forget to boost the one you using. AMD didnt fail, having more core is better. Most benchmark program are not ready for 8 core dude there is no problem you are creating them yourself. Benchmark dosent mean anything dude plus there isnt much difference in the score. AMD said it is better compare to intel and i know they are telling the truth, it is even better than Intel i7-990X
Even though Sandy Bridge is cheaper and scores better than AMD for price vs performance...i will still buy AMD. AMD need to stay in the show, they need our help to stay in the picture. @SouthNJPC Most people use ssd's as a boot drive, and they install everything on a mechanical drive. I believe that's why the apps are loading slower.

The only reason for Bulldozer's minor delay is AMD wanted to ensure they have enough different models to better compete with Intel's current offerings. AMD's current high end Bulldozer AMD FX CPU should be either at or just below $300.
We should all expect strong competition and price pressure from both AMD and Intel which should result in lower CPU prices.
i dont consider a test / overclock good inless it is under 100 percent load and stable. i have a 965 quad we ovewr clocked it to 4.8 yeah stable untill you put any type of load on it. now at 3.9 ive ran it that way for a year now. and i do all kinds of things that max the cpu 100 percent. also just got a amd 1100t and a intel i7 extreme 990x. both are on water cooling hopeing tpo push them to around 4.4 mark STABLE 100 percent load. no fake idol 5gig htz. no offense.

@sunnykfc fact is ..i have a budget of £300 to get a new cpu mobo and memory.......i was hoping for an amd bulldozer to come out a competetive PP and good performance...new AM3+ mobo...theyre pretty cheap..and some DDR 3 ram....

CPU - Z reports FX Bulldozer at 186WTDP, then it reflects the change to 5.1GHZ, plus taskmanager shows 8 cores running, what more must he do to show you this is a Bulldozer engineering sample...some people are way too hard to please!
