Good job, but everyone should know that not all granite is the same. You should know that some granite are softer than others and can be scratched with a knife. Always test your granite first before actually cutting on it.
Also, know that your knife will be destroyed in a short time frame if you cut on this hard of a surface.
@GuitarStonn I'd say it depends on both the knife and the stone. Some stones chip easier than others, but most probably the tip of the knife would slip and cause no damage. Well to the countertops. It may hurt someone though.
Another (related) question, is the slab so hard to scratch because of the factory finish/treatment or because it's one of the stones properties (to not scratch easy) ?
@musicgu7 The scratch resistance of the stone is inherent to the stone's mineral composition. Since granite is composed of mainly quartz, it's a pretty dense and hard rock. The polished surface helps in that it provides very little imperfections for the knife to get caught on.
The only thing I would like to critique is the opening sequence to your videos where the shorts come rolling in... that rusty creaky sound is as bad as chalk on a slate board - and just as irritating. I usually pause and skip ahead but others might not.
Please can you tell me didi you destroy your selar and doese tomato juce and other acid like cleaners can they destroy the sealer and make spots and darken the area . THANKS on the videos they are very educateonal .

I don't care what you say, if I do put a granite slab on my kitchen the first guy who tries to do what you did on my granite is gonna get a fat lip!
:)
Good episode!
Quick question, if you drop for example a chefs knife, pointy side down from around 2 feet will it scratch it or chip it?
