Johnny Rodriguez was my "heart throb" when I was a teenager. All the other girls my age were crazy about Donny Osmond, David Cassidy, etc. But here I am listening and watching Johnny Rodriguez's videos and I still thrill to him & his music. country music star. and you never hear of him any more. He can still sing as good

as ever. I have always loved him. I think he is a better singer than Freddy Fender

was. My husband doe's not agree.he thinks Freddy was better.

Johnny Rodriguez was the first Latino in country music. Freddy Fender started as rock n roll, but later made the transition to country. Johnny got his start playing guitar in Tom T. Hall's band, the Storytellers and Tom helped him to earn a record deal.

I remember Johnny Rodriguez and Freddy Fender coming along about the same time. I thought Johnny was so much better, yet Freddy stayed in the spotlight for so long, while Johnny seemed to disappear. He's got an amazing voice. I always liked when he switched to Spanish for a few lines.

I started to listen to CW songs when I was 14. It started with Eddy Arnold and JIm Reeves. Later, it was guys like JR and Johnny Duncan (and Jannie Fricke). That when Country Western was awesome. JR was a great talent and this song is so touching. I miss this kind of CW...so many years ago.
