  • My son was born at 22 weeks and his lungs just weren't developed enough. He weighed 1 lbs 6 ozs.

  • thank you for sharing. your little girl is a beautiful fighter. As a mum of a premmie I know how hard that road is my first was born @29weeks 1lb 2 due to IUGR and pre E she has not long turned 10 years old (britney's story 1lb 2 baby)

  • my niece was born at 26 weeks due to complications

  • Thank you, this video is beautiful.

I was born barely 5lbs which isn't so bad now, but at the time was. I stopped breathing, had jaundice and reflux and was hospitalized on and off many times until I was 3. I still have bad stomach problems but I am very lucky and grateful to be alive.

    Again, beautiful video.

  • Great Video, thank you for sharing. My little niece was also born 1lb 6oz. She quit breathing the first week after coming home from the hospital. Never forget the tears on my sisters face as she carried the little reagans lifeless body up the sidewalk. We were able to resuscitate her with oxygen bottle... she turns one year old in two weeks! Such an inspiration she has been to me. Thank you for sharing your story and for promoting this great cause.

  • Hi this a very cute video and your daughter is beautiful I am just wondering about that statistic / comment of Andrea having 0% chance of survival 17 years ago because I will be 19 in April and I was born at 27 wks 1 lb 14 oz Was it a question of breathing? Also, how is her development going today? I ended up with moderate cerebral palsy but otherwise very lucky so I'm always curious about others' outcomes. All the best to you

  • I know exactly what you went through. My daughter was born at 26 weeks and weighed 1 pound 10 ounces. It was the hardest thing I ever went through until I lost her to SIDS 3 months after she was born. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

  • I walk for Trinity Lynne Marie Gurkin born 34 weeks gestation 3lbs. 6.2 oz.

This is beautiful Can anyone tell me how I make my own videos? I'd Like to prepare a photo montage of my preemie and my IUGR babies. They are why I walk

    Aubreyanna Leeanne

    4lbs 8oz 40 weeks

    Trinity Lynne Marie

    3lbs. 6.2 oz. 34 weeks

  • great video, I was 3 months premature and weighed 3 pounds exactly. I have sorta wierd adenoids that stop me from breathing properly. I love the video, thank you for sharing.

  • Thanks for the comment!

  • Awesome video!! Beautiful outcome!! Our son was born 1lb 4oz @ 29w & 3d due to severe IUGR from rare early undiagnosed Preeclampsia......he suffers mental/physical delays but is such a treasure!!! (check out our vid!) I am soo glad the research from MOD also helps other babies around the world :) Thankyou for sharing & raising awareness! God bless

  • Thanks for the comment and for sharing your video!

  • God bless you all! My sons were born at 21 weeks and could not be saved. Please check out my memorial video. I also mention the march of dimes. It is a wonderful organization.

  • Thanks for the comment and for sharing your story..

  • Your video is incredible. I truly love your music used. Would you be able to tell me name and artist of the song? My daughter was born 9 weeks early and spent a month in the NCIU. Check out my video- Elizabeth's Journey, my user name is kwells125.

  • Thank you...enjoyed your video as well!

  • I cry when I see your video... my name is valeria , I have twins at 24 weeks gestation, 715gr and 745gr of love. One of my dauther died after 4 days in nicu. Now we are still in nicu, with Aurora... she's now with out o2 and I hope she came soon at home. Also we have a very bad rop.... I hope she go weelll

  • I am so sorry to hear about your child. On the other hand, I'm excited to hear the progress of your other twin! The NICU is such a difficult time, but on the same token it is absolutely awesome to see what these little guys can overcome. Stay strong and be there for them every step of the way and you'll be amazed. When you get out of the NICU, use your story and raise awareness about the problem!

  • This is such an amazing video. My little girl was born at 24 weeks weighing only 14 oz. She was in the NICU for almost 5 months. During her stay she had 4 surgeries, many infections and was on the vent for 2 months. Now she is 18 months old and doing great. Due to servere ROP she has serious vision problems, otherwise she as a perfectly healthy toddler. These babies are such fighters and true miracles. God bless you and your family.

  • Thanks so much for sharing your story...what a miracle!!

  • son son was born premature at 25 weeks gestation wieghing only 1.7 lbs he was in nicu for 4 months grwowing, he had one surgery for a perferation in his lower intestine which put him on a colostomy bag, he had 3 blood transfusions one infection, other than that it was smooth sailing he was intibated for most of his stay but when taken off he did real well he is now 10 months corrected and as healthy as ever he tends to keep getting hernia's but other than that he is great

  • Awesome! So glad to hear your son is doing well...share your story with others, there are so few preemies that small with favorable outcomes, but we're working with the March of Dimes to change that!

  • Awesome...glad to hear you are doing well. That was a very small size when you were born!

  • i LOVE your video - my daughter was just born at 27 weeks 1 lb 5 oz. She's had many of the same complications that Andrea Grace had plus a few more - she's 4 lb 10.4 oz now and is expected to come home any day now!!! Very inspirational, and very scary at the same time!!!

  • It's great to hear of a happy homecoming...good for you guys! I know that was such a time of mixed emotion, but how sweet it is to finally have them home!

  • Thanks for the nice comments, I sure appreciate it! I'm glad to hear your kids are doing well, we are lucky and blessed as parents of these special kids!

  • I have previously had not 1 but 2 32 week babies who survived thankfully through 6 weeks of NICU..we just lost a son born 23 weeks to soon..I am so heartbroken..I wish there was some way to erraticate this epidemic that is happening everywhere..IT is the most painful experience..Terralynn

  • I'm so sorry to hear about your son. We got involved with the March of Dimes because of that feeling that we were obligated to do something to give back. The March of Dimes has funded so much research to fight prematurity, there's no doubt our little girl wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them. Working together, we can make a difference and send the rate of premature birth back down!

  • My cousin was born at 27 weeks and was 1 pound 1 ounce. The doctors said she would not live past age 5-6, and if she did, she would be messed up. She is now 14 almost 15 and is living a regular teenage life. Though she does have difficulty in math, who doesn't?! She is a miracle!!! Great video! :]

  • Thanks for sharing your story...that's awesome!

  • I was 3 months premature, 1 pound 15 ounces. I have Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy.

  • Thanks for sharing your story!!

  • What an AMAZING video. I really want to thank you for putting this out there to make others aware! She has a video on you tube also,,just searh Ella Teagen Rae Martin if you would like to see her story..Andrea is such a beautiful little miracle and blessing, and again thank you so much!

    Amy

  • Thanks for the message Amy...our hearts go out to you and your family. What a blessing Ella is to you even still.

  • AWESOME!!! Keep up the good work and keep telling people about the work of the MoD...together we'll find answers!

  • Thanks....

  • Keep up the fight and good luck with your MoD walk!!

  • You can still get involved through WalkAmerica, perhaps by sponsoring a team here in the US! The research benefits everyone, worldwide.

  • What can i say -that was simply beautiful... as a mommy of a preemie- I had a 32 weeker, 3lbs11oz 16 inches long baby boy because of a placental abruption that was missed for a WHOLE WEEK until an emergency c section was done- I am also a proud walker/sponsor for March of Dimes... Beautiful loved the wedding ring pic... she is precious!

  • Thanks for the nice comments...keep up the work with the MoD!!

  • i was pre mature

  • Cool...help spread the word and tell others about your story!

  • I am an aunt of a 27weeker who will be turning 18 next month. She is lucky, she has no long-term effects form prematurity. I am aslo the mom of a 33weeker. He is a strong and healthy 6 yrold now. Thank you for the awareness

  • Great story...thank you!!

  • this is a beautiful vid, and u have a beautiful daughter...as a mum to a thirty weeker all the best for your daughter and your family, God bless, and keep up the good work!

    xx

  • Thank you!!

  • i loved that congradulations you have the most beautifull daughter and hope you have a perfect life with her. it was beautifully done. shes worth the effet

  • Thank you!

  • i was born at 24 weeks in 1983..you said 17 years ago they wouldn't have tried to keep a preemie alive? i am almost 24 years old. i survived the odds, somehow.

  • Those statistics are based upon gestational age and birth weight, essentially yes you were very lucky. Some 24 weekers are actually more like 26 or 27 weekers developmentally, and at that time their lungs would have been strong enough to have a fighting chance at survival. Help spread the word!!

  • so nice it mademe cry.........................

  • Thanks...

  • Thank you so much for that video! It is truely beautiful. It inspired me to make one, too. I so wish someone had suggested that we take a photo of Ellie in daddy's wedding ring. I love that!

    Joelle

  • Thanks for the compliments, I'd love to see your video!

  • Awesome video. Made me bawl! My mom used to go to your dad's church and got an e-mail with the link. Best of luck, you and yours will be in our prayers. You have a truly beautiful daughter. She is truly a gift from Him.

  • Thank you..

  • Your video is beautifully done!!!! It caught my eye because of your title - My daughter's walk shirt last year was "I am a face of prematurity" - - glad to see another survivor walking.

  • That's great...it puts such a personal face to it. Keep up the good work and spread the message of the MoD!!

  • Kudos! What a wonderful video. You did an awesome job. As a mom of a 24 weeker I know everything you went thru. You have a beautiful daughter. God is an awesome God. As you I too walk for March of Dimes. Good luck with your walk and God bless you and your family.

  • Great...I'm always glad to hear of other families that have been through this experience and are using it to raise awareness and save babies!
