  • Eset smart security 5 picked it up within milliseconds. I highly recommend Eset if your going to pay for AV.

  • kaspersky internet security 2012 worked yay!!!!

  • Yes, Microsoft Security Essentials detected it straight away. Reassuring to know, as usually I don't hear a peep out of it.

  • thank you it worked with NOD32

  • bitdefender didnt detect!!

  • microsoft security essentials detected it as EICAR test file :D

  • Once i made the file McAfee automatically deleted it.Thank you!!

  • avast didnt work :(

  • I used two Anti Virus Programs on this. This is what they did.

Norton immediately deleted it and said what it was.

Avast! did nothing until I scanned it then said what is was and deleted it.

  • @red48111 but my advast pro immediately detect and delete it..

  • anyone else noticed how Anti-Virus-Programs spells AVP xD

  • Standard EICAR test file

  • It worked thanks :D

  • I have Avast! antivirus. I saved it and nothing happened. I don't know what AVG means though.

  • @planetoftheapez try saving it as a .exe file

  • @mrmishish lol internet

  • My laptop has a hacker i think because someones desktop quickley popped up and it was not mine. I use McAfee and i am very confused on how to fix it. Please help!!

  • Eset Nod32 Smart Security 5 BETA detects this file as an EICAR test file

  • i had to change the extension to .exe then my Avast detected it as a virus, it failed to detect it what it was .txt

  • dude, it removed its self

  • McAffe Quarantined the threat immediately via removing it. It then notified me. McAfee is the best.

  • @SirAbdulle :( norton wouldn't even let me save it lol it just kept deleting it b4 i saved it i got ownd

  • @jesbu1 Yah, Ok. erm, to honest, I am really not a fan of Norton (Is that what you currently use?) , but if works then great. I am using McAfee 2010 Total Protection, I recommend it very much.

  • norton owned it, didnt even let me save it lol

  • Comodo blacked it! Thanks.

  • it's only a anti-virus test to make sure if anti-virus program is working! IT'S NOT REAL VIRUS!

  • So, i saved it to my desktop, and Avast didn't block it... But, I then scanned it, and it detected a threat. Is there something wrong with avast?

  • help..:(

    this file can't deleted..

  • @inxdra Refresh your desktop.

  • Great video! Avast Blocked it.

  • it worked malwarbytes

  • im useing bell internet securtity services and it doesent come up as anything i save it and it does nothing

  • I need a real anti virus test not this old 2006 script that all Anti virus company's learned how to block in 2008

  • hmm, none of my things got this, any suggestion on a good free Anti Virus?

  • @M3X1CAN007 microsoft security essentials

  • @M3X1CAN007 look up "how to download avast 4.8 or 5 antivirus" on youtube

  • Lol my virus protection program wouldn't even let me save it XD. It says "file was deleted because it could not be disinfected" XD

  • hey, i just tried it, neither my avast or Microsoft essential reacted AV reacted, any suggestions

  • @MrGiggidy90 Did you take away the space between the "STAN" and "DARD" in "STANDARD"? If you did, and it still didn't block it, then your virus protection program didn't work

  • 1000 miliseconds = 1 second. (mili is a prefix meaning thousand, where here it means "one thousandth of a second") eg. milimetre = 1/1000th of a metre

  • @clickt0own man...are you crazy..what the hell is this...holy crap!

  • it doesent even come on my desktop

  • btw save it as BAT :P

  • Kaspersky got it TOO!!!!!! When i saved it already it GOT IT

  • wew i prefer nod32 guys.. then with malwarebytes.. and spyware... ..+ the person using it...

  • 1 second flat BitDefender Total security 2011 cool

  • Norton Got it in 2 secs :O very very good program and btw nice trick ty ;)

  • Dude get avast! 5 Free Edition it detects much better and quicker than the stupid OneCare.

  • oh btw. When it's deleting the 58bit text file, it takes a REALLY long time, on avast on AVG etc. And it kinda reminds me of Monsters inc. when they went through all that trouble to blow up a sock inside a bolted down quarantine pan. XD

  • wow that thing took a really long time to delete a .txt file. i live avast on windows its king of the free antivirus. and on My Mac i like iantivirus or sophos.

  • got it.

  • I saved it onto my desktop and when I look at my desktop it isn't there, do you think my mcafee anti-virus got rid of it without my request?

  • Dang This Actually Worked :) Thanks!!!

  • you have to save the file with thease name:

    EICAR-STANDARD-ANTIVIRUS-TEST-FILE!

  • F-secure did not detect it, but it has protected me before. It's probably cuz it is a .txt, and F-secure knows they arent dangerous.

  • eset nod32 antivirus 4.2 found it

  • and save it as .BAT file

  • @lashatotladze Yeah Save It As .bat And It Should Pick It Up Or

    type in:

    @echo off

    :Begin

    start

    start

    start

    goto Begin

  • WELL i started it on avira, it doesnot detected while it was TXT. file

but when i changed it to .BAT it detected the viruss fastly.

i can advise you to test your antivirus easily, just open notpad, and write there start like this as many times as you can :)

    for ex:

    start

    start

    start

    start

    start

    ...

  • this is not working

  • Norton 360 Blocked it

  • @ashjohnsonsen norton sucks

  • avast 5 detected it :D

  • Comment removed

  • eset smart security detect and blocked it

  • Interesting. Avira v 9 didn't find it upon saving, but did when scaned. I then downloaded all the variants from Eicar.org and the only one Avira found when downloading was the .com file. It found the others when scanned, but not when downloade.

BTW, does anyone know of a non-destructive, safe worm than doesn't do anything but propagate, and is easy to remove, that I can use for testing in small networks?

  • F-secure didn't block it right away, I think because it didn't run or change something to the system. However, i've scanned it and F-secure deleted it.

I'm using F-secure now for 4 months, no problems at all. It's way better than AVG! I couldn't even upload a youtube video with AVG -.-''

  • Bitdefender 2010 blocked it at the same time but thanks you

  • but Iobit security 360 did found it! yay!

  • avast antivirus pro didn't even noticed the file ._.

  • NOD32 1 second

  • took about symantec 10 seconds

  • kaspersky got very chatty then

  • 3 seconds for microsoft security essentials

  • Webroot got it in like a blink of an eye!

  • haha awesome, microsoft security essentials and norton 2010 both blocked it at the same time after like 5 seconds! 2 great antivirus's working at once! thanks for the tester:)

  • AVG is shit :(

  • @Coldbloodedkilu

ikr i used this and i had to save it as a .bat then execute it for AVG to say THREAT DETECTED

  • yay, mine works!

  • thnx dude you rock

  • thx my avast blocked it after 1 sec :) avast rocks!

  • Wow, this acutaly works thanks, my Norton 360 blocked after like 5secs, thanks man

  • kaspersky detects it! good. Thanks

  • Wooooo My norton works BUT when i try to open it its just a blank screen

  • My Avira Antivirus SUX!!!

  • Avast does detect it you just got to scan that file because avast don't have real time protection

  • If it dosen't detect add .BAT to the end. E.g: Hello.bat

  • kool it worked

  • Mine didnt work cuz for 1. I already kne my McAfee was acting all bitchy... cuz its OUT OF DATE! my dad is a DUMB ASS and doesnt kno HOW!

  • great video!ill rate

  • @xIraqiSteve

    SAME for me man

  • I dont think Avast is a good AntiVirus...

  • @randompark I think your right!!! I just installed it and it's great!!!

  • @xIraqiSteve yea avast cant detect it

  • @xIraqiSteve save it as .BAT and it will work!

  • My antivirus do not detect it T.T

    Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware

  • @MoonWerewolf Dude thats not an antivirus thats an antimalware

  • Being fanboys for a certain AV program?

    ....... pass.

  • Your anti-virus software might not detect it that soon. You might have it set to not always be scanning. Most anti-virus programs scan either once/day or once/week(not safe). So if it doesn't work CHECK YOUR ANTI-VIRUS SETTINGS

  • my avast detected it

  • woa my avira works....im like scared about it detecting, idk why!lol.

  • KASPERSKY THE KING

  • every antivirus is the same green eagle so stop saying its the king

  • ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus 4 deleted it instantly = D

  • @kirby7master LOl like me

  • mcaffe sucks ass im sorry eset nod is the way to go

  • eset the best

  • Since when is mcafee good? lmao

  • You cant say that the anti-virus is working prob... you mabey just got a anti-virus that is scanning when opening or not even live scan... Most of the virus program got live scan but not all...

  • lolz when i pressed save avg said " We recommend that you scan your comp" well i know it's working. Is AVG 9.0.730 good?

  • @naruto1456 WELL A.V.G ARE NOT WORKING GOOD ,KASPERSKY PURE DETEACT WITH REAL TIME SHIELD AND A.V.G WANT TOO SCAN SO YOU SHOULD SWITCH TO NOD 32,KASPERSKY PURE

    :D

  • go NOD32!!!!!

  • The second I clicked save, McAfee got pissed. So its working I guess.

  • malwarebytes is awsome but dosent detect this because dosent detect script viruses.

  • thanks man avg en mcafee the best

  • oh shit nothing happened :(

  • People malwarebytes detects Malware and Spyware this is a infection

  • I have Spybots (S&D) and Malwarebytes, Sadly the CPU Doesnt Detect it and I scanned using both finding shit on my CPU, Im asking 2 Questions here

1: How to get rid of the Viruses

2: How to have the CPU detect them :)

  • Malware Bytes sucks it didnt detect it

  • YOU BETTER GET RID OF THAT!!! it detects nothing, it is really shit, nothing is better than that, cuz thats just fools you like it says the file is fine..

  • You suck!

  • Scanned it with Malwarebytes and nothing happened. Good or bad?

  • very very bad

  • NOD32 is da shit man,but i cant install it on my 64bit :(

  • AVG didnt detect but i found it after scanning

  • Avast didnt dectect it.

I uninstalled NIS 2010. and the NIS 2010 did react.

But avast doesnt? Is something wrong with Avast?

  • avast is really pro it knows false detection

  • avast can detect this, but not out of the box. you need to go to settings and remove ".txt" from the exceptions list.

    hope this helps :)

  • Avira AntiVir detected it

  • dosent work with my avast pro OS:win7

  • mine got it with in less than a second losers! symantec av rocks... lol cleaned by deletion, and it describes it as EICAR Test String. lol lol

  • it deleted it 2

  • i timed it 16 millasecs... hahahaha (out of 100)

    100 millasecs is 1 sec.

  • @ebildude123 no idiot, 1000 miliseconds is 1 sec -.-

  • @amajlesi no idiot, 1000 kilo-seconds is 1 sec >.<

  • @ebildude123 look, just go and search it on google -.-

  • panda didnt got that in a sec. but after scanning it got it!

  • lol mine does this but it isnt working properly it keeps removing combat arms cos they say it has a trojan noob mcaffee >:(

  • my mcafee didnt work :-()

  • mcafee is terrible.

  • so true

  • thank u a whole lot

  • nice tutorial. but i think i have a problem. i have avg antivirus, and when i saved the file, nothing happened, but when i scaned it with avg, it detected an infection

  • I know why when you saved it nothing happened. It's because Techtopic has a COOL anti-virus program that he used it in the video!

  • Bit defender picked it up within a nano second and it was gone

  • Nod32 got it at once :)

    Thank you!

  • Virus? Oh, that stuff. Totally forgot what a virus is after i started using Linux

  • Yeah, because you get it all the time.

now i have karspersky and my computer is working properly and it does not slow down my comp:)
