  • Thank you for this podcast. I've been losing weight over the last 8 or so months, just changing what I eat. Reducing sugar, no more soda, cutting down on "bad" foods, increasing water, etc. So far 45 pounds gone. But you explained perfectly why it worked. I'm still going to drink water to help me with weightloss - keeps me full so I don't eat so many calories. Love your page. Glad I found it.

  • my question is about 6 pack abs im taking in 800-1200 calories a day everyday and i walk for 1 hour and i do some crunches about 60 a day u say that all u have to do is watch the total number of calories u eat and that is all that matters but can ur metabolism stop if you dont eat enough? and i was wondering if no how long do you think it would take me to lose enough weight to get abs im 5"7 and 3/4ths and weigh right at 190 lbs... also how much weight can i expect to lose in 3 months? thanks

  • this seminar is motivation in its purest form

  • @BodyPerformanceTV nah im good, but thanks lol

  • im confused, in the beginning you said stuff about 50 extra calories and then you gain weight. How do you figure out what your "budget" calorie intake is? And then also, you said to burn 500 calories a day to lose a lb a week. burn 500 calories from what "budget"?

  • Comment removed

  • I think this is great,,seems logical and convincing..

  • @flarem1 Thank you! The truth usually is! :O)

  • Do more cardio(biking,running,swiming...) everyday and eat better! thats the magic thing.Thats the big secret, cardio eat better!

  • Very imformative. I think you highlight one of the biggest obstacles to weight loss - the anxiety of losing weight. Its not as hard as people think. I lost 80 pounds over 2 years by simply having a good diet (not a punishing one) and walking at a fast pace for 30 mins, 6 days a week. You're doing excellent work spreading this imformation.

  • @metrx330 Thanks! Theres also more great info on my BlogTalkRadio show. Go there search & Steve Turano. The show can also be downloaded from iTunes. The most recent shows can also be heard on my website home page (at the bottom) once they upload. Tell a friend! ~Steve

  • THANK YOU!!! Since september of last year I have lost 60 pounds. I'm constantly searching for new information, however I had almost come to these same conclusions in my own mind. You kept hitting every point I have been making to others who are now starting to ask my advice on how I'm losing the weight. Thank you for the confirmation. I have much to learn from you and am so very excited to lose the rest of my weight. I will share this with everybody I can!!! Thank you for the peace of mind!

  • @JackieMarie20 You're welcome. I'm offering that CD for $10. There's a Special Offer for listeners and fans on my 3-29-10 BlogTalkRadio show!

  • Great advice, as always. Speaking of Olympian athletes. When Micheal Phelps won his medals, I kept hearing on the news that he ate about 8,000 - 10,000 calories a day. Just out of curiosity, did you know people who'd say, "Well, I exercised a lot yesterday, so I treated myself to a whole pizza/double bacon cheeseburger/(whatever), because Michael Phelps does the same."

  • @oreovictim Most people are like that because they think they burn so many calories from exercise. And Michael P doesn't eat 10,000 calories a day.

  • The reason why is because inorder to lose fat I need to create a calorie deficit of around 300-400 per day, and if I do that how can I gain muscles? By taking high protein? Or should I just take equal calories as I burn and start low carbs??

  • @Amitmanjyani24 Theres also more great info on my BlogTalkRadio show. Once there search Steve Turano. The show can also be downloaded from iTunes. The most recent shows can also be heard on my website home page (at the bottom) once they upload. Tell a friend! ~Steve Turano

  • Hey Steve u r great, please answer because only u can.. How is it possible or was always possible for bodybuilders to gain muscle and not fats?? I would really like to know.. Because I wanna lose some fats but not muscles.. Please anwser...

  • Hi Steve, This is fantastic content. Very well explained. I have shared it on facebook too. Thanks a ton.

  • Thank you! Glad you like it.

  • This should be played in EVERY gym in America!

  • Thanks Steve. These youtube clips have been instrumental in in the 40lbs I lost. I did it without recovery drinks, or protein bars/shakes, or wonder pills/machines. Just good old fashioned exercise. I am happy that there is still someone out there with a no nonsense approach to fitness! I am 6' and sitting at a healthy 185 now. I took a little break and coasted for a while, and am ready to tackle that last 10 pounds! I will pass this vid along for sure!

  • Thank you and nice job!

  • MAN, I love your videos soooooo much

because of your videos I've nearly lost 30 pounds in the last 3 months mianly because i've been taking your advice by keeping my calorie intake to the minimal and cardio like a maniac. Now after i reached my goal I'm gonna start weightLifting to get my body ripped. all thanks to you

  • That's a GREAT job! You should be very proud. Keep up the good work! ~Steve

  • is this the same as losing fat? i dont really care about my weight I care for losing fat

so does the same things u describe in the video apply to losing fat?

what is a good healthy breakfast, the breakfast that I hear people talk about have me starving they dont last long and I get hungry quick

  • The entire seminar is about losing fat. I like a healtyhy cereal with low fat milk but you can eat anything you want for breakfast when it's lower in fat.

  • how long should I do cardio and how many times a week?

I was think 3 days per week cardio and 2 days for strength training, What do u think?

I was think mondays and fridays for strength training and tuesdays-thursdays for cardio.

  • This is absolutely phenomenal! I just listened to it for the first time. Steve, you do such a great job of explaining about weight loss occurs! It is easy for anyone to understand and VERY doable. Anyone can do this! I hope people listen!

    -Josh

  • Thanks for the great info and telling the truth. It's still just comes down to three things. Healthy Diet, Aerobics, and Resistance training. There's nothing new under the sun. We just need to know how to be consistant.

  • @hokieguy95 There's a Special Offer for listeners and fans on my 3-29-10 BlogTalkRadio show!

  • I am sharing this with everyone I know. Steve I wish you all the best and hope you make millions. You deserve it.

  • Thank you very much! I appreciate your help!

  • so obviously, eating within a deficit but with clean healthy foods, with the occasional cheat meal to keep you sane and revitalised is going to be better than, eating in a deficit but eating shit? lol nutritional value is important obviously.

  • Doesn't matter what you eat, it really doesn't just as long you make sure you create a deficit over a certain amount of time. You can eat a pizza, doesn't really matter, just make sure by the end of the month you have created a deficit. My sister youtube user " michellesfchick " eats 3,000 calories per day, a 1,000 more a woman needs, but she runs 10 miles a day, that's the key.

  • I completely agree and understand that less calories causes weight loss, regardless of their sources. However, isn't 'weight' loss and 'fat' loss different? If i eat less over calories and eat foods that are for example high in fats, simple sugars, low quality protein etc compared to high quality proteins, fibrous carbs and healthy fats. surely the quality of the physique will be compromised if you do the first of the two?

  • Yes, weight loss and fat loss is different of course.

    Weight loss can be:

Loss of water ( body fluid )

    Loss of muscle tissue

    Loss of fat.

We all want the last one to loose, of course

  • You really know your stuff! A lot of people wouldn't beleive what you say unless they experience it. I will introduce your site to friends.

  • Thank you! I say nothing but the truth!

  • "See....you take food OFF your plate". I laughed so hard. This is priceless stuff. Crazy how your logic and scientific facts blow up all the infomercials and other nonsense people follow (won't mention names). Funny how that works. Subbed!

  • There IS pharmaceuticals that remove fat! They are not on the market legaly though due to adverse effects..

  • Just want to tell u that i relly admire your work and that you have help me a lot! My mother and i will subscribe to your web on september 1st! She knows you now because of me and she's very excited to start....thanks so much for everything, for all the information you provide, and for all your incredible work that help us out! KEEP IT THAT WAY! YOU'RE THE BEST!

  • Thank you. It's also on my website. Please tell a friend!

  • tnx man

    you are good man

  • Just listening to this, and into around 18minutes, about the pills.

what about pills such as clenbuterol and cytomel (t3) in combonation with each other?

  • if pills really do work to "burn fat" as they say the goverment would supplie every obese person them FOR FREE or at least the doctors would or whatever..........

then the obese epidemic would be solved and ppl would'nt have nasty dieases etc....

  • Lol...The government wouldn't do such a thing. It's all about the money. So even IF there was a "magic pill" they wouldn't give it out for free that would just be hurting the pharmaceutical companies.

  • OH there is such a thing as "magic pill" but they don't promote weight loss

  • Thanks! Keep up the good work!

    Steve

  • Thanks for the information! I'm currently utilizing a lot of key points you make into my own diet and exercise program.

I love the point you make about a diet not being what you eat, but what you don't eat. Taking calories away is the most important part of losing weight. Plus activity of course!

    Great stuff Mr. Turano.

  • Thanks!

  • Very good information and for free!

  • Thank you! Please share it with your friends who might need help.

  • Great seminar Mr. Turano.

  • Thank you! I sure will. ~Steve

  • No faith required, just a bit of common sense and elementary math skills.

Thanks, Mr. Turano; your vids are highly informative, inspirational, and they cut through the surrounding bullshit giving people the accurate knowledge they need to affect real change in their lives.

    Keep it up.

  • ya keep doing wat u are doing

  • damn its june 20th already.

  • Steve this is a really low budget (ie FREE) infomercial. I think your anger towards infomercials is the simple fact that you don't have any new information to share. That and you can't sell your program. Don't be pissed at infomercials Steve. Make one of your own and take your piece of the pie...

  • I take back having no new info to share. :)

  • haha, dont be ridiculous. he simply stated that informercials disillusion a lot of people about how weight loss really works.

  • 12:40 Thank God for that!! Hahahahah! Thanks a lot Steve!

  • Thank you very much!!!

  • Thanks a lot. I sent this link to all the people I know. Thanks again.

  • this all this apply to someone who is trying to loose fat and gain muscle?

  • YOu don't need excess calories in every situtaion ot become obese.

Cushing's Syndrome can make you very obese with absolutely zero excess calories.

Of course Cushing's Syndrome is very rare.

  • Thanks!

  • Posted this in a bulletin on my myspace. Awesome stuff Steve!

  • Thank you very much!

  • Passed the site to everyone I know who needs help or that extra boost in motivation. Just down right awesome...

  • Again.Great work.Well said

  • Thank you! Please tell your friends!

  • Excellent work Steve, as always!

  • Ive sent this to ten of my family and friends,, Thanks for clearing up all the myths and rumors about the body and how to love it!! Dallas,Tx here ,,,,,keep em coming

  • Eloquent! THANK YOU! Please tell a friend. ~Steve

  • Good stuff, I ve not seen a one of your vids without 5 stars, well played, eloquent and up front.

  • Thank you! Please share it with friends who need help!

  • This man is amazing.

  • Thank you! Please share it with friends who need help!

  • amazing...

  • Thank you! Please share it with friends who need help!

  • Thank you very much!

  • i had sent your website already to many people. but sending this too now... humerous and very well explaint.

  • u r one inspiring guy steve!!! thanks a million...

  • Thank you. My pleasure. Happy to do it!

  • Thank you!!!

  • I realize their are people who are emotional eaters but giving them the SIMPLE science of how they can control their weight is a big help. After that it's their responsibility to take control of their lives and emotions. I just offer the truth to help them achieve happiness.

  • Steve,

I watch your videos often and have read alot as well. Your information is dead on accurate...it is funny actually at how plain and simple weight loss is. It is just a matter of doing it. Keep up the good work. I will certainly recommend you to others.

  • They gain their weight back because they go to EXTREME measures to lose it and keep it off. There's a difference between saying you're doing the right things and DOING the right things. I'm glad you enjoy my videos!

  • Steve, I know amazingly a lot of people that know every word you say, including myself. But this knowledge is not the answer. Dieting you say is a science, but actually it is not : You forget the phsycological factor. The brain plays games with you and most overweight people are emotional eaters. Saying " that is no excuse" is also not the answer. I appreciate your effort though, so thanks

  • Steve,

I love your videos and the positive approach you have to health. Please encourage Heath At Every Size (HAES) and being strong and healthy - and not basing health on a "weight". Some have been dieting a lifetime and have regained it all back - even by exercising regularly and "dieting". 98% of people who "diet" gain it back and more in 3 years. Weight loss isn't as easy as calories in / calories out. Eating disorders anyone?

Keep on encouraging everyone to be healthy and strong!

  • That is great. Nice job! Keep up the good work! ~Steve

  • Steve I really appreciate your videos. Their is so much false information around. It's nice to finally hear someone who knows what their talking about.

By following your tips I lost a lot of weight.

    Thank You!

  • giggidy

  • hey steve great video- i do alot of sprinting and uphill sprinting and i also do muay thai kickboxing and i still weigh about the same or maybe 1 pound less but when i look in the mirror i look leaner then i did before but i didnt lose any weight why is this?

  • You're welcome. You can do it. Small changes every day adding up to big results. Don't wait. Start today. And please tell a friend! Thanks! ~Steve

  • Thanks. I'm a 30yr. old diabetic and really needed this. I'm really ashamed of myself. I must slowly change.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! Thank you very much!!! Hoping somebody will bump into my seminar or website and see the value in helping people either with a radio or TV show.

  • Hey People!! To you who want to support Steve's work and share this, here's another great way to reach even more people, post his link next to your nickname in MSN, Facebook, Twitter it! Just get it out there!

  • Well said!

  • Again! You freekin' rock Steve, it's soooo important that you do this, thank you sincerely!

  • My pleasure and thank you. I don't really know enough about the internet or how to effectively spread the word about my website or seminars.

  • how about this... It's due to a constantly degenerating human genome, environmental degradation and other stressors, any number of issues outside of taking in grains. From a scientific point of view, consider that your axiom is wrongly effecting your conclusions. Modern observation shows that cultures whose diets are grain based (i.e. rice, beans, some fish) are the healthiest, longest living cultures with the lowest incidences of cancers and related diseases.

  • Actually, "fatmansupremefatness" is right. The human animal did not eat grains up until around 10,ooo years ago. This is not enough time to genetically adapt to this diet.

If grains are "healthful" then why does the archaelogical record show otherwise- more cavitis, shorter height, bone disorders, tooth enamel disorders, infant mortality and generally not as robust in the Neolithic(grain eaters) as the Paleolithic

  • Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. Please share it with a friend!

  • 4 Stars! It should be mandatory for every citizen to listen to this lecture. It blew my mind though at the very end when you didn't say "I'm Steve Tuano, Love your body!"

  • Are you serious??? You are so off base on so many levels I have to leave your comments to show your ignorance.

  • If you are replying to fatmansupremefatness then he has valid points. But too much of a good thing is bad for us anyway. I'm not sure about alternative medicines' 'Weight gain and weight loses is hormonal, not calories?'

There seems to be some good research on it but most of it seems to recommend certain types of food like salmon, chicken, apples and, oh yes water! You can eat loads of these and never get fat...well, these foods are really low in calories!

  • They also recommend not taking in gluten based foods and cheese and milk. But when you think about it: by avoiding gluten based foods and wheat foods you are practically getting rid of every junk food know by man. All the prepacked foods have gluten and wheat. In fact there is only a limited amount of foods you can eat on this diet and they all are healthier, but most of all...have hardly any calories!

  • I mean, how much celery...'a really really healthy food'...would someone need to eat to get fat? Oh, by the way Celery has 17 Calories per 100 grams, whereas chocolate has over 500 Calories per 100 grams. To match the chocolate you would have to eat a bucket full of Celery...which is much harder to do.

  • Steve

Why grains at all? Grains are NOT a natural human food. They were not eaten for the first 2 million years of our existence. Grains are an inflammatory food. Look up Dr. Loren Cordain and the Paleolithic Stone Age diet he recommends.

Also if a calorie were a calorie, then a person eating 1,800 calories of junk food would have a great build compared to another eating paleo style 2,200 calories?

I'd bet the other guy had lower fat. Fat loss is a HORMONAL event.NOT numbers.

  • at fatmansupremefatness:

lmaoo are you stupid? or are you just mentaly retarted?..i guess both. AND ABOUT GRAINS WEVE BEEN EATIN GRAINS SINCE STONE AGE.. didnt Jesus eat bread?......

  • Nice one!

  • hey Steve. i was wondering if I'm heading in the right direction with my diet and exersizes. i eat cereal for breakfast and a tuna sandwich for lunch and tilapia fish with vegetables for dinner. i do cardio for 30 min and weights for about an hour at night 4 times a week.

  • Sounds good!

  • steve i can lose weight a lot faster than i can gain weight

  • Steve,

If I use a Sauna Suit and run 3 miles can I lose one inch on my waist in one day?

  • No. It will just be water.

  • yeah as a matter of fact i do ill link em to ya

  • Holy Shit! That's great! You should feel very proud. What you did takes lots of courage and discipline! NICE JOB!!!! If you have any before and after pics I'd be happy to post them on my site.

  • Thanks so much steve last year around this time i weighed 250 lbs and after getting active and watching your videos i now weigh 137 lbs im 17 btw you are a guru thanks for helping shmucks like us : )

  • congrats bro , thats an amazing accomplishment !!!

YOU PROBABLY JUST CHANGED YOUR WHOLE PATH IN LIFE BY ACCOMPLISHING SOMETHING IN YOUR TEENS MOST WONT DO IN THEIR WHOLE LIFETIME

any goals you set for yourself from here on out should be a piece of cake compared to pulling that off

  • Thank you for your kind words! Keep up the good work. I no longer answer questions on You Tube but I do have 1 month memberships on my site if you ever need any help. ~Steve

  • Watched a few of your videos, i like that i get good advice with no ulterior motive. I like that the guy giving the advice reflects his advice in his appearance. I can see that my own goals for the future are going to be achieved wthin your guidelines. thanks for the resource.

  • Hey steve has this middle aged woman that lost 40 something pounds heard this seminar and confronted you yet about your disbelief about her supposed 17% BF yet? =)

  • As always! Thanks!

  • I'm glad you enjoy my videos but I have to disagree. I NEVER said everybody could be skinny. I do say that everybody can lose weight and have a better body. And it is as simple as I explained it. That's the problem with most people, they want to complicate it with misinfomration they learned in infomecials. They get so caught up in false information they don't even listen to the simple truth that will work 100% of the time.

  • Your videos are great Steve, I have watched them all. However, you do have a tendancy to over simplify things. Everybody has a different metabolic rate and thats genetics, pure and simple. Some people will never be thin regardless of what they eat or how much they exercise. Its not a simple equation of BMR + exercise Vs calorie intake (for some people maybe but certainly not everyone).

  • I'm kinda torn on your statement that you hate when over weight people say they are comfortable being... well over weight. Not everyone (even if they lost weight) has a nice looking body to work with. My uncle has scars all over his body from a fire accident. NOTHING he can do will make him LOVE his body. I think once you find your soul and know the body is just a shell, a cover if you will, it really doesn't matter what you look like.

  • Extremely great video. I pretty much knew most of what you said but the way you explained it makes it so simple for anyone to understand. Very informative! Everything Steve said is true and explained in 30+ minutes of what took me days of reading/research to find out

  • 45min?

  • Yes. But also remember as we get older we become less active (or more lazy) too.

  • Not me, I'm too vain. lol

  • So you say that your BMR burns most of your calories. So what happens when you turn 40 and your muscle decreases and your BMR decreases. So if I keep muscle on my frame I will continue to have a good BMR to burn off the calories I eat? Is it that simple?

  • I find if frustrating that the only thing stopping me from loosing weight is my lack of willpower. I know everything i need to about exercise and dieting, but i can't put it into practice.

  • perhaps its more than lack of willpower...read the book 'metabolic typing' and get a new perspective of why you crave certain foods and why its hard to resist them.

  • Try eating regularly and try eating whole grain, high fiber foods. They offer more bulk with less calories. Fruits are also great. Also, there has never been any evidence metabolic typing works.

  • if you made this downloadablein mp3 format i would listen to this often to keep me in check
