Electric bass is based on double bass and double bass is played with a bow and then later in jazz/blues with the fingers. Pick is more of guitar thing.

Saying that I don't care what people use.

Main thing is electric bass was not designed for picking.

Yea from expierence most bass players dont use picks it gives it a weird sounds try to walk across the strings with your fingers it gives it a deeper more smooth tone and it wasn't great but we gotta start somewere!

sorry, but there was definitely some suckage in this vid, especially during the intro. the part at 22/23 seconds, you need to work on that and get the feel down. but please, dear lord, don't listen to the idiots telling you to drop the pick. i can't stand when people tell bassists to do that...
