  • I love Slade! It's such a shame Noddy left though :(

  • Best live band ever.Wish i saw them

  • What a fun band... It's what being a rock star was when I was a kid. Dave was so charasmatic, all smiles and loud lothes. Love it!

  • These guys whre great, never got all they should have, cool dudes, unique voice

  • I still have one of the patches they threw into the crowd. A little hand with the letters spelling Slade

  • johnny ramone loved these guys!!!!..he had all their records....if you listen closely ,you hear half of the ramones catalogue,,,DeeDee was also a huge fan!!.. Slade were ripped off so much !..even Oasis covers them, that is how respected they are to musicians...i saw Gregorys funhouse do their songs and the crowd thought they wrote them, when they told the crowd they were by a band called Slase, people just wanted to know more !!!...Slade were really a good melodic band

  • @ultrakool Excuse me, Slade ain t got nothing on T-Rex, except that they joined in on the 'Glam' era that Bolan kicked off, but Slade played virtually all modern pop/rock styles from classic and blues in the late sixties to modern state of art pop, rock, gospel styles ballads etc. in the 80 s Let's face it!!! T-Rex mostly monotounous songs I think are way overrated

  • @ultrakool I don t face it, T-Rex had some great things but Slade were far more versatile and diversified that the kind of dull T-Rex.

  • @ultrakool not really man, they got along backstage, and though there was subtle competition, slade got more hits

  • You just cannot get any better than SLADE!! I saw them live so many times - just wish they were still producing that brilliant stuff!

  • Slade was simply fantastic. Such a shame they never became better known in the states. Maybe the look just didn't work.

  • @wrengles I've been trying to figure out why they didn't make it in the US and the only thing I can think of is the look! I mean they had the type of catchy rock riffs that Americans eat up. But wow that look was bad. The lead singer looks like he's 50, the pants are hideous, and those hats! They did have a minor hit with Run Runway in the early 80s and I clearly remember it.

  • Thank you for this Slade mini-documentary.

Slade were (and still are), my all time fave glam rock era artists. Met Nod and the boys some years back during the "We'll Bring The House Down" era. Perfect gentlemen, the lot of them.

    "THANKS FOR THE MEMORY" 5*****

  • Slade Super! Super! Super!
