Why was it so important to publish? Received bad reviews when it was first issued.

I enjoy this rendition. It's very crisp and clear, with no indulgence on his part, as far as I can tell. I like clean lines, and he really holds it all together so well, especially when it is coming round the bend near the end of the 8th.
