Still not good, what happens when people compliment you on how your hair isn't greying. What would you say? Also you cannot do sports in it. You won't sweat.
@Trinder3467 As your hair grays naturally, you add gray hairs to the system. The bonding glue is waterproof- you shower, swim, and sweat in it and it won't come off for 4-6 weeks.
@samskipsam Even still, would be much better if we found a cure for baldness. Propecia seems to be the right way because it reduces DHT and stops hair fall. But since it may at some point cause impotence, I am afraid to even touch it. What do you think about it?
@Trinder3467 I agree with you. I won't touch Propecia because I'm afraid of not only the still debated risks, but even just the placebo effect. ED is ED! I think the best options are this or a transplant. The problem with hair systems is you're aware that that's what you're wearing and you might be anxious that people will spot it or judge you for it. And then there's the cost and maintenence time for it. It may still be worth it, but hopefully hair cloning will come along soon!
@samskipsam Well, the thing about transplants is that most of them are unsuccesful and if you don't have enough donor hair you will end up with a triangle shaped hair style. Also if you notice people with transplants brush their hair backwards only. I think cloning already exists, but it's the most expensive out of all transplants. Still nothing is as good and dense as your natural hair. My doc told me I can try "Saw Palmetto" instead. It's also an anti androgen drug, but I'm still not sure.
@Trinder3467 Saw Palmetto does basically the same thing. I wouldn't trust it- just because it's a plant, doesn't mean it's any safer. If hair cloning exists, sign me up - I don't care if it's expensive! As far as the success rate, all the research I've found says that they have a very high success rate. The 2 things you have to look out for are a good doctor so it doesn't look bad, and consideration for future hair loss- you may need more in the future as you continue to lose the original har.
@samskipsam Well, my trichologist advised it to me saying that it's a lot more expensive than a usual transplant but yet it's still in process. Yeah, Saw Palmetto is also an anti-androgen but they insist that it keeps your libido high so you won't feel a catastrophical change in your erections. But I still doubt it. In my case I can do a transplant but the only thing is that I'm not bald, I have only started noticing thinning on top and crown area. Not a good idea to start now.
@Trinder3467 I'm in the same boat - my head is still covered, but I've lost a lot of density. I have to figure out what to do in the meantime. I've found that hair fibers help out a lot. You should look into them- they thicken things up a lot.
@samskipsam There is also a minoxidil, but they seem to give a full look only if you keep using them for the rest of your life. My methods are: healthy proper diet, vitamins, a good anti-dandruff shampoo and healthy athletic exercise once in two days to keep up a good blood flow. Gentle head massages whenever you can with finger tips. Always check your DHT levels to see whether or not it's risen. Reduce stress so that DHT doesn't go up.
@samskipsam It's easy. you just give your blood for that particular test. I believe any blood clinic does that. It's very important for a man to know his DHT and testosterone levels not just for hair, but male potency and fertility as well.
That guy sounds like a serial killer.
