I think this is a true Hymn of the Friendship, it must be gift for the soul to share with friends no matter where they are. Thank-you very much for posting this pretty video-clip. From Argentina with Love...and Friendliness!

How come it took me over fourty years to hear that song .... in french!!! .... and know I find this English version? Oh, Lord, please involve this fellow who posted it here with all hapinness in the Universe. He deserves....
Man I love this one. Agreed with academical that her accent when singing in English is very charming. The simplicity of the music, compelling photos, loveliness of her voice, and back-to-basics subject of her song all make this a treat for the soul.
Re the lyric, I think the last word of the second line should be "sun", not "snow". Francoise's (super-sexy) English diction is a little unclear, but in the original French the word "soleil" (sun) appears in the first verse, "neige" (snow) doesn't.
Wonderful song, anyway. I'm sure it was on a sixties vinyl version of 'Francoise Hardy - in English'.
You are absolutely correct. I just listened to this song in French and I generally need the words in front of me to understand, but I clearly heard "la neige".
@124bjw Err... thanks? (I think). I've just listened to the French version myself, and the word "soleil" is clear, but I don't hear "neige". The first two lines are: Beaucoup de mes amis sont venus des nuages
I think they're great. All I have are some slightly tatty plastic CD covers, and some stuff from Google images, and one or two video stills. You have a fine collection of vinyl records, hence the fine large cover images.

Thanks, I just copied the lyrics off a website. If you listen, you can indeed hear the word SUN.
The song is on the vinyl you mentioned and on a couple of others.
