These boys were just as good live, I saw them support Whitesnake in 88 @ Wembley Arena, for a support act very tight & proffesional. Only wish they didn't have such big eggos!!!
Hey I heard a song on the hair guitar station on direct tv and it was MSG but it was a slow song a rock ballad does anybody know the song I am talking about becasue it was great!!!!!
Excellent song and album!! Hard to find it now. I remember discovering MSG in the early '90s in college, by then the grunge retards had taken over, but I would search the local obscure music/collector stores for something different and by then this was obscure! Glad I discovered them even if I was a bit late, MS was a inspiration to me as a player and fellow Flying V fanatic!
This album rocked then and stiil rocks. Schenker/ McCauley was a great collaborative effort... some of Michael's most carefully crafted playing... like in this solo.. Kicks ass my friends!
MSG came on to the scene and kicked some azz, and still today I rock to this song in my car just like I did back in 88-89.they were the real deal and michael really can rock that axe.
micheal wasn't underated because he started his career by the scorpions, in that time had everybody known that he was an excellent guitare player, but than happened something which happens most of the musicians "drugs" so the scorpions kicked him from the band and so he started a new career with msg
i agree...everyone got used to michael's playing from his first albums...wich i don't like so much...but from 86 to 90 he kicked ass...and the 1991 self titled album rock too
Jesus, this song brings back some bad memories... real bad... it almost scares me to hear this song, the memories it brings back are so troubling....yeeccchhhh
Great tune! Cool to find it on here. I still have this video on VHS from a late 1987 to early 1988 Headbangers Ball. It was actually the world premiere of the video when Kevin Seale used to host headbangers ball. Man I wish some metal tunes sounded like this one!
God in heaven--that is one of the coolest guitar solos I have ever heard! He builds shapes, mountains, sometimes even using some classical elements and phrases. This remains incredible to this day. Incredibly well put-together song & vocals. I dont care what the MSG purists think, but this late80s version of MSG is way more listenable and polished (like the Scorpions)compared to earlier & later versions of MSG; and my personal favorite MSG vocalist (McCauley) just shines...
I completely agree about Schenker. I just wished Michael got the BIG stardom he deserved, and with Robin MacCauley, who is an incredible, melodic singer--he started to achieve that level of success. As you & I know, Michaels reputation by the late 80s was already legendary due to all his shining work with 70s/early80s MSG (as you mentioned). I remember this song in 1987 and thinking "YES, this is the best way to showcase him to a wider audience"...Listen to McCauleys vocals also--wow!
I cannot even tell you how much I LOVED this song when it came out. I must have played this cassette tape to death in my car with Connie!!! SHOUT!!!!
What was the name of the song they did and the video of it showed a bunch of Hot Women with the cameras and tv recording crew around them while they were singing. I always loved that video and song. Can't remember the name? Help me out here. Thanks!
Great song and CD......I have great memories from listening to this cd....Cindy are you out there....MSG rocks forever and UFO...Rock Rock till You Drop......Rock You Into The Ground.......
