  • packard bought studebaker, not the other way around.

  • That's fuckin' awesome. I think they should bring the "Baker" back. What a great concept that would be, huh?

  • @brandondallas - The Studebaker killed Packard, a great car died so that a mediocre one could survive another 8 years!

  • In Europe a 2.8 litre was/is a big engine, most normal cars are 4-cylinder,up to 2.0 litre.6-cylinders are mostly found in luxury or sports cars,or anyway in what you would regard as a "special interest auto"(like this Studebaker undoubtly was, even when new..)In America,a 3-4 litre six would only be found in an economy car!

  • I have the exact same engine in my 63 Lark. :)

  • SWEET! The OHV 169.6 cubic inch (2.8 liter) Stude six was an overlooked gem, not available in U.S. market Gran Turismo Hawks. The 289's were surprisingly economical when teamed with overdrive, though.

Brooks Stevens did miracles with the Bob Bourke's 1953 Starliner design when he reroofed and reskinned it for 1962, and the 1964's were the best-looking of the GT Hawks. That one is the nicest example I've seen! Thanks for sharing!

  • ¡What a great car!, a 1964 Studebaker Gran Turismo Hawk, with a 6 cylinder engine, very rare and unique, thank you for share this great car.

  • Very beautiful. Thank you very much for sharing.
