Nice work :D. The crossbow is a bit cheap but hey I can tell that even if we were both using melée only you'd probably kick my ass. Your resistance seemed a bit high tho. What level is your character at?

I think that the use of the crossbow is innovative and is a great trade off. Anyone who says its cheap is not looking at it straight. to use a bow he has no defense at all forcing him to rely strickly on dodging. that takes some skill, and if anyone gets on top of him with a horizonal striking weapon he would have been at a destinct disadvantage. (notched whip, darksword, black knight halberd, etc)

the dragon spirit that you were fighting can't fight and use his dragon body well first he should use dragon roar and stunt you with some quick weapon (thats what i'm doing while fighting in dragonform) and then he acutaly beasting you. But still using dragon form need realy good pvp skills :"D

i have a similar build, but i only use my avelyn after backstabbing, dodge roll back and use it as they're getting up, most people don't expect it. i also use it when people stupidly attack the air with their 2h weapon expecting me to just run into it :P

I'm starting to think I'm catering to a PvP community I could beat if I played with more similar builds like others do, but I lose because I expect too much and provide a weapon/armor handicap. I'm definately at others levels, I could use a little more practice in the parry/dodging area, but I'm getting there. My build: combo of useless light armors that look good, grass shield +14, +15 std uchigatana coated with poison, darkwoodgrainring and ring of favor, poison daggers and dung pie for range.

@metriodf Shields make pvp so boring imo. The person winds up hiding behind it the entire fight. I dont frown on anyone who uses a shield it just something I avoid in pvp =D

@Evolushunzz Shield is ok as long as people don't turtle behind it the entire fight. It's that crossbow that you use that I have a real problem with. Although requiring some skill, it's a little on the cheap side. You're clearly competent at pvp but I'm not impressed with the slow-mo cheapbow kills.

@randyronald Cheap? Nah I dont think so. Literally any shield (upgraded or not) will render a bow or crossbow shot useless. Did you ever think that maybe Im just good with a crossbow? Or that I time my shots when my opponent tries to roll, attack, parry, ect. And if thats not enough Im left wide open for a backstab after a shot (I learn this that hard way)

@akio963 Well I don't have that weapon yet so I'm not sure if I can or can't use it as effectively. I've played about with the heavy crossbow +15 in similar execution and it's much less effective but again only toyed with it. Perhaps I'm quick to judge but from experience and theory it seems like a safer way to finish off opponents than other ranged possibilities.

@randyronald Avelyn has the second fastest reload times, heavy has I believe second slowest. So there would be a difference there :P If/When you do get it, +14 or Crystal with heavy bolts for damage or lightning and lightning bolts for stun. Just sayin'.

@akio963 hence why I found the heavy crossbow much less effective I guess. Avelyn's stats just seem overpowered to me but I guess I should have tried to see how difficult it is to wield before calling it cheap.

@randyronald Let me put it this way, between it's firing time and it's reload time, you mess up, you get backstabbed. Can't say, but pretty sure that's what Smek meant by the "Hard way". I think it got nerfed or something, because I hit way less than I used to.

@akio963 ok well room for error for firing time is minimal but I appreciate the repercussion for misjudgement could be great. Some weapons are difficult to learn but others are difficult to master, I feel Avelyn fits in the former category. Once you get into the groove it's not something you'll slip-up with often. Again I've not any experience of using it myself but I've fallen victim to it a few times quite some time ago and I always felt I was the one getting stuck in with melee.

@runescapeep1c Well from experience I was invaded quite a few times from low levels with elemental gear and Avelyn was quite common amongst them. Ok so this didn't happen a lot but enough times to notice a complete lack of incidents recently.

@Evolushunzz Well compared to casting time of other ranged attacks the repeater is very fast. It's also a lot safer than back pedal + attack combo with melee weapons which requires better judgement as you're vulnerable to a follow-up attack when once you've lunged back in. In combo with the dark wood grain ring you can do a full backwards dodge and follow up with a ranged attack with minimal time penalty and at a safer distance. Maybe I'm being unfair but seems less risky to me.

@randyronald I agree, the avelyn has one of the fastest ranged attacks and us among the safest ranged weapons to use in pvp. washing pole + avelyn is a kind of noobish combo imo, but not as noobish as using that miracle that slows you down + dark hand strong attack. so it's less cheap than other strategies, but still cheap, me thinks.

@asteroidmonger haven't ran into anybody who has used tranquil walk of peace + dark hand. You can block dark hand with a shield though, can't you? I'm pretty sure my dark hand attacks have been blocked so I assume you can.

@Emanfox333 Dragon body. Need to reach level 3 in the dragon covenant and you get an item you can use (infinite uses) to transform your body into a dragon. You need to be wearing no armor for it to work, and it wears off when you die. So when it wears off, you're naked.

@Newbiestile265 Yeah but I think theres a cap on stam. regen. But it still works extremely well with just those 2 items. I have a character in full havel who regens stam. almost instantly with just those 2 things, although i think you can add a crescent shield to boost it even further

@TheMurrah Its a ring called the Dark Wood Grain Ring, you get it from killing shiva's bodyguard. In order to make Shiva himself appear you have to join the forest covenant. Once you do he will be right outside the building where the cat is along with his invisible bodyguard who is near the edge of the cliff

My dark knight great sword 5+ hits 720 ive got 40 str 40 dex, 14 vit, 17 end, if you can dodge and predict enemies hp isnt needed.

You've got some moves on you, at least you dont hide behind shields or walls, i myself prefer the risky parrying with dual weapons, its risky as hell, especially with the lag some people have.
