  • I wish there were more songs out there that promote peace, acceptance & tolerance.

  • @gordogreat74 I do too. Thanks for your comment :-)

  • @gordogreat74 I AGREE SO MUCH!!!!!

  • I'd like to buy the world a Coke. What a injustice to a sweet global comment made by the original lyrics. When Coke airs this song around Christmas, I always think what a bunch of self serving melody-thiefs they are, regardless what they paid. If they want to buy a tune, commission one.

  • @Nabokov50 I hate to correct you - but the Coke jingle was in fact the original version written for the famous "hill top" commercial in 1971. Because it became so successful it was later adapted to a pop song (this) version changing some of the lyrics to drop the coke-cola references. It was re-recorded by two different singing groups both of which became hits. You can check Wikipedia if you want to read more.

And I do thank you for your comment.

  • @Nabokov50 Pwnd, bitch.

    That is just so cool!

  • @lolkat192 Oh - I was hoping someone would catch that.

    Thank you so much! :-)

  • @lolkat192 no I didn't but that is pritty cool...

  • @ownmylife22 Yes - I so agree. You're very welcome & thank YOU so much too! Really appreciate it your comment. :-)

  • I remember watching this commercial when I was in high school. It was the nieve 1960's and 1970's. We actually thought that the world would listen and learn to live together in Peace and Harmony. 40 years later we are still killing each other over politics, oil, land, religion, race and any other stupid excuse we can us to rationlize our baser instincts.

  • @NCIStivarules Cool! Thank YOU so much for watching & commenting. Really appreciate it :-)

  • @ICONiccBoyzzLovver25 Thanks for your comment :-)

  • Continued: And for some reason, when the kid started singing, and when some of the kids sitting near him joined him, I started laughing, and I can't figure out why. Maybe he was one of the class clowns, or I was suprised everyone in my class knew this song, I don't know. Probably both reasons.

  • Now that's weird, because I had a dream last night and in the dream, THIS EXACT VIDEO WAS IN IT! And I was in school in the dream, and the kid behind me starts singing the song before the video even started! It was like the Coca Cola commerical, how one person starts singing, and a whole group of people start singing too. Eventually, when all of us were singing, the teacher started playing the video from the part we were singing to.

  • @Beatlesfangoogle Wow - that's just amazing! Love that everyone was singing. And that this vid was in your dream. Thanks for sharing my friend. Awesome :-)

  • @mdragon180 You're welcome! I was even singing this during a test today at school!

  • Coca-Cola made this song. And then other singing groups started to make remakes of it.

  • @BG1E True

  • @bichru There were good & bad times in the 70's - but I prefer to remember the better moments. I was a child most of that time - so I have some wonderful memories.

Thanks for commenting my friend. :-)

  • I doubt that any of us will ever live to see a time as incredible as the late '70's were. The regentrifications of inner - cities with wonderful restaurants and lively night spots, the music, the fashions, and it was the last time I can recall the American people ever behaving so graciously. I've been fortunate enough to travel this grand World, but I'm with you. If I could, for my next adventure I'd sure like to get into my time machine, and spend two weeks back during that wonderful era .

  • @truthbetoldagain Please save a seat for me! :-)

And thanks for commenting. Peace & love :-)

  • Thumbs Up if you came here from the Coke Commercial :D

  • I came into being in 1951,I'm no square chin,or radical in any way shape or form, but I do believe that the peace movement needs to be listened to ,and taken note of .

Shit! I like a beer and I tell dirty jokes and don't believe in God ,But that don't make me a bad bastard like some.I hear this tune ,and the words mean so much to a generation who've become less than understanding of what we ALL need if the future is to be realised.

  • @VOLKENBOND Well said my friend! Thank you :-)

  • @mdragon180 Thanks mate! The hardest thing for any human to do is to come to terms with their own mortality. The greatest thing for me would be to know that my children and grand children have a future, and if something is'nt done NOW,and I mean Now,then we're ALL screwed. But sadly the Governments of the world just don't seem to want to listen.Long live the Peace movement I say ,cause then the WHOLE world will benefit. Some hope there !

  • Thumb up if you hear it in the cocacola spot :D ! all rights reserved for coca cola.

  • HEY, NOTHING WRONG WITH SEX(LOL).There is too much violence and negativity, we gotta keep spreadin the love and peace.

  • @mdragon180 aint it beatifull times in primary

  • @aahizam828 It sure was! :-)

  • wouldn't it be nice if the world could be as the song speaks of. i try to do my part, but there's so many a-holes that i have to deal with in the world that i can't possibly do it! pretty song, though.

  • @No1KCfan6 Oh - I so know how you feel. I too try to just be a happy person & let other's live as they wish - but there is always some negative, hateful person out to just make trouble. It can be very hard to deal with such people - but try not to let them bring you down.

  • ahahaha, when I was young I used to sing this song with a children choir in Italian! I don't remeber well the words but I suppose they were '' mi piacerebbe un mondo che più guerra non ce n'è...'' or something like these :) Special thanks to Coca cola for have refound this lost song on my mind :)

  • refound this song after the most recent coke advert.

  • @DemDemDavid Cool. Thanks for commenting. Have a nice day :-)

  • @DemDemDavid met too ..hehe ;D

  • @DemDemDavid --My son was born in 1993. The values and the morals have All changed. I lived through the 60's and of course to young to protest the vietnam war, but we had Flower Children and Hippies that did that. Both my heroes. It was a wonder era. I am 54, and Miss those days.

Life is not simple now, for you guys, way to much negativity. You just remember to spead the PEACE. I still do!

  • Oh, the 70's. Why did I never get to see them.

  • @MyBfd As one who live though the 70's - it wasn't all that great - with the war, Nixon, etc. - BUT I do have some wonderful memories from that time too. Esp. the music. My fav is 70's classic rock - the best of the best as far as I'm concerned.

Sorry you weren't there to live it - but at least the music lives on.

Thanks for your comment. Peace :-)

  • Awesome song and a great video. We all need to start being happy now. Funnily enough I've just started a blog on my website seancollinson.co.uk and the 1st proper post I put was entitled 'Happiness'. It's too easy to fall into negative ways and not see the absolute joy in just being us. Lets all share the smile we've been given from watching this video and hearing the song. Stay Happy x

  • @sheepy59 Thank you so very much! I couldn't agree more with your wonderful comment. Thank you for making my day - it's so nice to know others feel like I do. We all do need to stop with the hate & negative thoughts & just be happy for the gift of life & our beautiful world. Thank you :-)

  • i was born in 1997, but why do people these days talk about violence and drugs and sex, no wonder why theres so much violence going on, in the 60s-70s it was about peace, thats the anwser, peace. why do we have all this violence and stuff? i think Lennon, Hendrix, Marley and more know the real way for music.

  • @LiLTiKeGaming I couldn't agree more my friend. I don't even watch TV anymore - just junk or too depressing. I so wish I knew why - sad world it has become. Hopefully the youth of today might help to change it. One can hope at least.

Thanks for your comment friend. Peace & love :-)

  • @LiLTiKeGaming I was born in 1992, and I love this kind of music! Just saying you're not the only "weirdo" out there who likes this at our age :)

  • @Soldier842 i was born in 2000 and i love this kind of music

  • @LiLTiKeGaming wow i feel old but i no and no how u feel born 1990 i feel the way u do now :-)

  • @LiLTiKeGaming Totally agree.

  • @LiLTiKeGaming I agree with you - but I like music today and music from the past. whats so bad about sex by the way? we live in the 21st century :D violence is shit but sex is just something natural...

  • @LiLTiKeGaming YOU! YES YOU JUST GAVE ME HOPE OF A BETTER FUTURE! (caps lock off)

  • @LiLTiKeGaming Grow up.

in the 60s-70s there was the VIETNAM and many other wars all over the south and south east of the worlds.

There was the hippies, they was ALL about the drugs, LSD & everything that could be smoked.

In those days the AIDS reached its maximum expansion because of the uncontrolled sex, not even consensual and seldom protected. Hendrix died because of the drug.

I prefer too the 60s-70s, but just because there was more freedom in the all-the-day life, the world wasn't better.

  • @LiLTiKeGaming The 70:s had the Vietnam war, the cold war as a direct consequence of the second world war. Lets not forget the Korean War during the fifties. People were getting tired of all the god damned wars and people protested it too. Well things change and here we are today. Two wars started in 2 years one of which has not ended. Lennon was a peace activist and although personally i'm not much of a fan i believe that is death was a great loss to all of us.

  • @Simsalisivan Yes, John Lennon is music wonderfully in tne world, is Peace and Love. The Beatles = four Fantastic, heritege cultural of humanity

  • @LiLTiKeGaming despite the Hippie movement, there was actually a lot of violence in the 60-70s. There was the Vietnam War, war protests, violence in the Civil Rights movement, and the threat of a Nuclear War between the USA and USSR. Most of Lennon, Hendrix, and Marley's songs are actually about those event and are a desperate plea for peace that never came. That's why their songs have with stood the tests of time: true peace will always be just out of reach, no matter how hard we try for it.
