@Chelle881 hmmm that's odd. I tried it and got the same result. I would suggest trying another tutorial in the meantime. I'll have to look into why it's no longer working. Sorry for the inconvenience

yeah fresh prince I saw the preview on youtube but can't seem to find it on the app store, I typed in qik video recorder, nothing came up and I also tried qik video camera but still nothing, unless it's not released in australia yet I don't know.

@zukes454327 that's strange, I just tried to search for it but it says it's no longer available in the US store. They may have taken it down because they are planning a big update or for some other reason. There are several other video apps in the iTunes store so I'm sure they didn't break any rules of any kind. thanks you for bringing that to my attention

do uno why after i did jailbreak and got vid rec, only 2 days later I lost everything from cydia like you know when you go to packages?

and I tried to get something else from cydia and I got error msg: database encounted a section with no package header.

anyway i did a restore and jb again, after you get cydia u get the option of choosing Hacker or user, I did hacker again, then after that there's finish install or upgrade, I did finish install last time, but this time I did upgrade.

yeah I noticed that and tried it and then converted the file to mpeg4, waited for it to finish the process, but then whe I go to watch the mpeg4 version it says "This movie format is not supported"

another thing, I was wondering how to have access to mpeg4 for the vid recorder?

I'm only interested in this cos I seen in the settings you can adjust the volume but only for mpeg4, can u help with that?

in the settings for video you should see an option to choose either mov or mpeg at the top

I'm not too sure if this exact method will work for the 2G but yes, you can record video with it. It's worth the shot, if it doesn't work all you have to do is delete the source from cydia

cycorder has better quality than this

well technically they're about the same, they both record up to 15 frames per second (depending on the lighting) and the video recorder actually allows you to choose between 4 different resolutions whereas cycorder only has on default setting so its all about preference. i personally like them both but noticed that cycorder doesn't drop frames as much

hey dude.. i cant get my ivr2pc to work with 3.0 jail break.. it wont reconize my iphone there for i cant upload any videos to my computer.. any ideas on how to fix this.. i have done all the usual stuff like reinstall and everything and nowthing happens

u need a source so it can work on 3.0 and it wont crash i had the same problem but now its working.

Yea the same issue has been occurring for several people...I haven't found a solution yet but if/when I do I will definitely post a tutorial on it...It has something to do with the 3.0 update :(

i have the iphone with the new 3.0 firmware and its jailbroken...

i did all this and in the end when i tap on the video recorder app it jus shows the video recorder symbol and goes back to springboard..

I'm not too sure if the videorecorder works with 3.0...some of the apps in cydia are having compatibility issues with 3.0 unfortunately...i haven't tried it on my iphone 3g running 3.0 yet but I'm gonna do it now and see what happens...I'll send you a PM with my results...by the way thanks for commenting :)

if u mean warranty then yes i heard it voids your warranty but you could always restore it back to its original settings (un-jailbroken) in itunes then you'll be good to go :)

great question...i used the veency (vnc) server. you need to be jailbroken and have wi-fi to use it...theres tutorials on it if u search youtube for "veency" or "veency tutorial" etc.

if u cant find a tutorial that is clear and easy to follow let me kno and i will make one to the best of my ability

yea man it's definitely better than cycorder...i haven't uploaded straight from my phone to youtube yet. usually i upload the video to my computer first then edit it and then put it on youtube but i'll do a quick random vid to see how it comes out bcuz now that you asked im interested to see what the quality would be like. thanks for asking

uuh quick question when u do jailbreak ure iphone... like what happens does it void the contract or anything or mess it up at all? just a bit iffy u know about jailbreaking it :P

its funny that u ask that bcuz rite now apple is trying to make it so that jailbreaking is illegal bcuz a lot of ppl that do it steal apps from the app store after the developers have put time and money into making them so do it at your own risk. but as far as voiding the warranty no it does not. at anytime you can restore your iphone to its original state in itunes without any traces of it being jailbroken. as of now there are no laws/regulations against it
