Obviously, months of conceptualization, construction, and testing go into each elaborate set piece (for instance, the bed in the Dirty Diana scene had to be tested, torn down, reconstructed for the pole dancers, tested again, etc.). So, yes, they were working on Dirty Diana -- they never had a rehearsal with MJ, though. They were going to do when they got to London.

My DVD of TII has a special feature about the Dirty Diana sequence -- so all the info on it is right there for you to watch.
