  • I live in Fredericksburg I had no idea the river got this wide lol

  • holy crap, I've driven across that bridge several times

  • Where in the world is this? I lived all along the Rappahannock from Fredericksburg to Warsaw but never saw a waterspout! I feel cheated!

  • The waterspout was in the Rappahannock near the Rt. 3 (Robert Norris) bridge with White Stone on the north shore and Topping on the south shore. I have to thank my wife for alerting me to the waterspout, which we originally thought was a tornado. Thanks for your comment.

  • its the robert O' norris bridge, and we recorded the same video of this, and two weeks later there was another one later in the evening a friend an I got on tape, that summer had several tornadoes and waterspouts near lancaster county

  • hey i know this bridge very well maybe thats because i live in white stone. but i dont remember this one. i do remember we had one about 2 years ago. wasn't as big is this one. but wow i wish i could of had been going across the bridge when this was there.

  • how come nothing cool like this ever happend when i lived round there??

  • the news got all over this tellin us to get to cover and shit i was scared as hell

  • a boy just died today at the river no lie

  • Wow!

That's amazing! I recognize the White Stone Bridge (Norris?) and I'm assuming that you were shooting toward the bay, right?

What time of year (do you remember the date) was this taken and at what time of day?

I wouldn't want to be caught out there in a boat!

  • The video was shot on June 19th (if I remember correctly) and it is the Robert Norris bridge. We're at the mouth of Carter Creek looking almost due east towards the bay. It was about 9:15am on a Sunday morning.

    Thanks for commenting.

  • Good going, but this is not a tornado. It has tornadic movement, but waterspouts and tornadoes are two different kinds of storms. Great Video, but be careful what you call a tornado. Lol. Thanks for the steady hand.

  • Thanks for the correction. I took the video to the local television stations and was corrected by the weather guys. The issue was "was it over land or water..." when we first spotted it. It was over land, moved over water, then dissipated. I ran out of tape before then. I used a tripod. Thanks for the comment.

  • Amazing video
