  • Not bad.

  • looks like 0-94

  • @jaaj2 actually the 3rd gen eclipse is a front wheel drive v6 and theres plenty of room

  • secondaries at 0:03?

  • You have to be running a Zeted final drive in that. Mine wont do 60 in second gear even cranking almost 7K with my 3L hybrid. Not bad!

  • I have a Contour SE what mods can I do to increase the HP

  • @llPurpleHazell cold air intake exaust ect

  • I have there's actually allot you can do with them it's just harder and it takes the know how I own one I've got a short ram intake 2.5 in exhaust a turbo and 75 shot of nos it works and I'm putting in a stage three clutch pretty quick here

  • I own a contour svt I love it and it's surprisingly good on gas for having that much power in them the only thing I don't like about it is that there is no room for me to work on it it's so cramped but other than that they were an amazing car oh and it definitely never has a problem with smoking hondas

  • @DrDragon29 But did you ever find a performant v6 fwd with room to work on it probably no ,only thing can make you gain some space is to have and awd or rwd with the tranny hiden in the tranny tunel if not forget about it you never see a car with room to work on it .Take a look to all your friend car with an fwd v6 2.5+ you will see by yourself.

  • Also, how did you get the gauges backlit blue like that? The SVT's Ive seen have green glowing numbers at night, not this beautiful full gauge turquoise color

  • @whatthehallbetch The lighting is achieved by using a standard style Illumiglo electroluminescent gauge overlay kit. You can purchase this at the StreetRacerParts website.

  • car does not sound like a ricer at all! pure american

  • @TheRiddox thats cause ricers use lil 4 bangers lol and sound like a rattling lawn mower, fairly high-revving v6 here with 195-200hp depending on the year from a 2.5l not too shabby since gms v6's with 170- 200hp were 3.4-3.8L's. oh and 98-99 civics yeah about 125hp or 160hp in si trim, and lets face it yea the si can rev but hell 111lb/ft of torque is shit compared to 170 lb/ft with the svt.

  • @albatross2380 you are a fucking jackass who knows nothing of what your trying to talk about

  • @0to60in16seconds haha I dont know what I'm talking about? your sentence didnt even make sense bro, maybe if you were more puntual and less ignorant you'd see what I'm talking about. I know exactly what I'm talking about. i didnt try to talk about anything, i did. please elaborate for me of what is wrong with what I said. oh do me a favor, go fuck yourself. I know you cant manage reading and writing but possibly that would be something you can accomplish. what an imbocile.

  • @0to60in16seconds punctual* see talking to you make me forget how to spell. do us all car loving people a favor and stop talking ignorant shit you clearly know nothing about.

  • @albatross2380 Agreed. These were great little cars, decent luxury too. Good handling. I always thought of them as a cheaper alternative to a BMW, I realize very different as they are front-drive but the same sort of concept, four doors and a V6 that loves to to go to redline.

  • @drgonzo767 for sure...minus the v6 lol as BMW's are straight 6's...i know whatcha mean though.

  • nice shifting im surprised that 100shots of nos didn't blow your intake manifolds

  • @arnoni11 Wtf are you talking dude all engine stock cant good well over 100shot because you need to adjust the timing lol

  • you are so lucky to have a contour svt! I don't care what people say; I think they're very nice cars!

  • what mods do you have?

  • im thinking bout buying a contour svt 98 i wanna know are they reliable????

anybody got any answer for me???

  • @jaunisaboss get a 99 they are more reliable, they fixed some issues with the 98's in 99

  • Fix Or Repair Daily.

  • @dirtbikemike69 and yet out of the top 5 selling cars of all time world wide two are Fords. you're ignorant mike.

  • AWESOME CAR

  • How do you get to 60 in second gear like that? I ask b/c my old svt contour would be hitting the 7k fuel shut off in 2nd gear at 52 mph. Are you running much taller tires or something? Or is your speedo off?

  • @IrishChris1979 Could be zetec final drive

  • what mods have you done to your contour men?

  • 6.0 at launch, not bad, umma get one of these, they pull up to 90.g;s on tha skid pad. go ford!!

  • Nice sound. Also love the fact that it pulls strong and steady at any speed.

  • Nice man! That thing sings and moves! Great sound, nice car!

  • are all contour svt's 2.5l? im starting to like these things, nice video bro!

  • Wow man, this thing scoots pretty good. What all is done to the car in this video?

  • that was 9:33

  • how did you get those gauges??

  • Wow,,,,what mods do u have done?

  • 5.7 maybe

  • hey man what mods u got on there, im looking to make my csvt faster but dont no what to do?

  • your speedos off, you should only be able to do about 56-57mph by the end of second, your about 62-63.

  • I think this guy get off the rev limiter thats why... because i got an svt an i cannt got 0 to 62-63 in 2nd and i cannot touch the red even a little bit and i always got to fockin put my 3rd to do a 0 to 60 that realy piss me off for that part.. just to say that he do in 0 to 60- 6.8 instead of 6.6 or 6.5 stock

  • @pre98zetec Its obviously not stock...so things change.

  • @spermanater6969 what mods, then? zetec final drive? thats the only way i see you getting close to that kinda speed from the gears. Mine hits the rev limiter before i hit 60mph in second, you're way over that.

  • @pre98zetecYou got me. My bad. I just tried to hit 60 in second, i got about 57-58.

  • Are those IntelliGlow needles?

Contours are nice, my first car.

  • 2.5L 155ci iVCT kicks in at 5350

  • @xKILLZONAx iVCT was never an option on the Duratec V6s intalled in the Ford Contour, Mercury Mystique and Mercury Cougars based on the CDW-27 platform.

  • thats fuckin awesome

u hold that gear a little long at the top tho. but once she drops into second hahaha it just rocketships out again

  • wow that's surprisingly nice. Sounds good, has good gear ratios to match it's powerband and is fast as well.

  • nice svt man! what mods do you have that push it that fast?! i drive a 2000 contour se, and its gotten really slow.

  • Hey what kind of gauges do you have? im looking to make my csvt look like those. The color is awsome.

  • actually pretty peppy

  • This car or SHO?

  • great sound

  • i want thouse gauges

  • i have a 2.0 4cyl contour and i was wondering, is the 2.5 a good motor?

  • yes. its a very good motor. the duratec v6 if well maintaned is strong reliable and good sounding. i had a 2.0 before and it doesnt compare :] i love my 2.5

  • so how much shit did you have to do to swap the motor

  • You dont swap, you buy a new car

  • yeah, if i buy a new car i wont buy another contour, hopefully ill be able to buy a mustang in the near future...

  • dude I have an '86 mustang gt 5spd for $2,500...check out my videos im actually trying to get a contour I found a clean ass '95 with 82k miles on it.....

  • nice man, i got a 97 4cyl 5 speed in mint condition for 1,300

  • @dillon923 Actually, only the 1995 and 1996 2.5L Duratec V6s can be considered strong and reliable. Ford started using crappier connecting rods in1997. These rods stretch from fatique and end up spinning connecting rod bearings, especially in the SVTs. If you don't drive them hard (rev them high), then the 1997 and later engines will last a long time.

  • @thenoblegeek LOL WUT

  • @joshpotts Your response reveals your ignorance.

  • @thenoblegeek Actually, no, it does not. Open up a mechanics of materials textbook.

  • @joshpotts And look up what specifically. Your response is too vague.

  • @joshpotts Come on you putz! I asked you a question. What do you want me to look up in a "mechanics of materials textbook"? I'm willing to hear your point of view but it seems you want to be vague to make it look like you know more than me. So far, you are failing. Point me in the direction of what is on your mind with respect to materials. We may both learn some valuable information if you buck up on your end. Are you game?

  • fantastic

  • yeah

  • amazing motor

  • i run a 99 contour se 2.5L v6 with t4 turbo intake lightwieght flywheel. shaved bodykit from a toyota supra gloss black ppl freak when they find out its a contour their nice cars n quick if u do it right

  • what kind of setup do you have? what mods?

  • howd you get your gauges to light up like that?

  • there electro-luminescent. He did some kind of swap to make it look more like the more modern SVT vehicles

  • damnn sick video. pushin it to the limit.

i just got a stock contour LX from an auction for 800 bucks. I couldn't be happier, these little cars have alot of pep. I did intake n exhaust but its just not enuff yet.

  • would def smoke my SVT Focus lol

  • Id like to own either one

  • o they're fun!

  • My uncle used to have an 04 Focus SVT, definately a fun car, handled like it was on rails. I haven't had the privelage of driving a SVT Contour though.

  • I have a 03 red SVT Focus, I know what you are talking about on the handling. I pulled a slalom at 70 mph on stock suspension, and new tires but not much better than stock. I've only seen one svt contour though

  • i got at or a little above 6 second for this run...very nice!

  • Thanks!

  • @callbatman One of my favorite Fords ! Very nice Bro, enjoy it.

  • Damn man that sounds good! Like really good... cool SVT. I like 'em; they're rare and cool cars.

  • God, your gay. Maybe when you get your Honda Civic, you can put a monitor in the dash and play your smash brothers, you little fag... Do you make this face XD when your boyfriend cums on it?

  • @callbatman no but i would if you let me drive your contour haha

  • @callbatman His name IS dribbles.........

  • @Dribbles88 exceptt its domestic

  • @Dribbles88 what lights

  • oh and 0-60 would be allot faster without all the tire spin

dont just dump the clutch, the fastest way to accelerate or "launch" a stick shift car is to take off just like you would driving normally from a stop light just letting out the clutch faster and on the throttle harder

little wheel spin, little to no clutch slip

    and good times 0-60

  • 0-60 would not be faster with this car with no wheelspin. Don't be ignorant. The car has 'secondary' intake runners that don't open till 3,500, so if you try a launch with no wheelspin the car bogs down.

  • @callbatman actually they fully open at 2000 rpms. quit talking out of your ass. you are right however, they do get a better 60' with wheel spin

  • @SVTFjason

2000rpms? I think not. YOUR the one talking out of you ass my friend.

  • @SVTFjason At 2000? Yeah..probably more like 3400 or so

  • @SVTFjason the secondaries open at 3400 WOT, 3900 driving normally..

  • @callbatman You almost need the wheelspin. Well i know i do on my csvt. Runs much faster with wheelspin.

  • @callbatman hey nice acceleration I have one csvt 2000 it runs pretty well but is not as fast as yours, mine takes like a second or more to reach 60 what mods did u do to the svt?? and you are right if you want to accelerate fast the only way to get it is to launch it at 3800 with full secondary working and well not dumping the clutch but letting it out not gently but not fast it may get burned a lil LOL and it0s impossible not to wheelspeen there's no traction control in this cars

  • @callbatman Yup. But that's why you throw a 3L in it >.<

  • @callbatman That's called variable valve timing there chief

  • @yeahtone1992 Actualy not CHIEF...the 2.5/3.0 v6 dura was designe to accept variable valve in futur if need. You can only find the 2.5 with variable timing in europ. Here in us is only roller finger followers,,and better then this, DAMB system(only in 3l jaguar use it) is pretty similar but is mecanical and then you finaly have the ''Ford variable valve timing'' 3.0 jag-explorer 2010+bring the power to 240hp n/a not so bad with a higher compression you can reach near 300hp n/a on oem rev limiter

  • @0to60in16seconds Everything you said is totally wrong. Any car is faster if you drop the clutch. You just have to regulate the rpm so you don't spin so much. Why do you think 0-60 times of cars is faster than 5-60 times of cars that motortrend/c&d/insideline test?

  • @0to60in16seconds this is coming from a guy whos user name is 0-60 in 16 sec....bro if my car was that slow id sell it in a heartbeat. let me guess u own a civic lol

  • Sweet. What's in it?

  • you got over 60 without shifting to third... what kinda mods did you do please let me know. i hate i have to shift to third to get over 60

  • It's the way the transmission is geared.

  • i agree with you. i have a 99 mystique bone stock. it shifts like the one in this video..

  • lol you have your high beams on.

  • i like your new gauges. where did you get em?

  • what mods did you do to svt cause if mine can do that I want to have those mods

  • in fact it seems that every shifting is longer and faster than normal a normal svt 1st gear goes to 35 mph and second 55mph while in this it does 40 in 1st and 62 in 2nd maybe he upgraded the tranny and in fact it goes very fast a normal svt does 8.5s to 60mph

  • ford says 7.9 stock. car and driver says svt is around 7.1.. but with a good driver it will do it in 6.5 6.6

  • thats not really a big deal, being as it's just gear ratios and they easy way to change them is with tire diameter

switch from 16" wheels with a 23inch rolling area

to a 17-18inch wheel with about at 25-26 inch rolling area and you have a 8% increase in final drive ratio

  • 0-60 in less than 6 secs is fast

  • what mods did you do, it accels pretty fast.

  • @streetracer44870 i have a 98.5 csvt does the same it's surprising he's not replying to these mod questions...but i have a hypertech-rom tune k&n intake magnaflow exhaust w/corsa cats ford racing short-shifter koni sport springs 3inch drop in front 3.5 inch drop in rear

  • @ryudbz okay i see but why would u drop the rear more than the front the cars FWD u shouldve dropped the front 3.5 and the rear 3

  • @streetracer44870 some fwd cars respond better w that setup u have a csvt right? Then u should kno its no Honda the motor is really heavy plus w u owning a csvt I'm sure u kno about the torque steer trying raising your front end then tell me you don't have a better launch...I did it cause my homeboy josh has a MazdaSpeed 3 w a slightly higher front he said that torque steer is cured better w the front higher...try it bro!

  • @ryudbz shit ill give it a try bro i never thought it would work that way.
