Agree. Beyond missing the second backbeat each measure (I'm all for creativity, but some things shouldn't be messd with), I feel this needs to be played a little more on top of the time.
Does the drummer own the P.A. system? That's what happened to a band I had in High School. Do what we did. Borrow some money from dad and cut him loose!! Break his left leg and his hi-hats first. Nice job otherwise I thought!
Trained? Does he have a copy of the song to listen to?
Don't want to sound harsh because covering a Steely Dan song is no easy task, but in this video, the drummer was the weakest part of the song. Rest of the band sounds like they listened to the song before.
Guitar is fantastic, singing is flat, drums sound like a can salesman falling downstairs, bass player should learn the track instead of trying to "Jaco" it, song drags.
Thanks for doing it, though - it is a beautifull song.
not the best..but not the worst that's out there. btw...that drummer really isn't getting into the Josie groove in my opinion. but hey it's about preference! nice.

It's just a tape of an early practice. The drummer is among our most, if not the most, experienced and trained player.

My mom's an experienced and trained player and a heck of a nice guy! But she can't play drums either!!

+1... not the best sound that is for sure, but you can tell they can play, just a shame the mix sucks

Thanks! sorry about the mix, it's just an old analog video tape recorder so we can evaluate our practices.

NO. jsexton. I think what he just said was, "really isn't getting into the Josie groove." I don't think it was a complement.
